Is the penny dropping.... It really should be People need to read their own Thai Embassy website in their own Country......or are they all wrong as regards new rules from July 15th

I've used Truemove for as long as I can remember current Sim about 11 years and previous one must have been 5 or 6 years maybe longer Worked absolutely everywhere I've been in that time I use a short code for data on month by month basis for 300 Baht which the resident know all on this sub forum (on his approximate 60th username) will say is expensive but never ever provides a month by month alternative If you want it let me know and will dig it out

There is very real reason I dont fly Thai airlines in general. I've genuinely flown London to Bangkok I think its 169 times (several of friends my age have done more and nearer 200) Of those 169 times only twice have I flown Thai and once Phuket air we speak about here I've always had this mindset of Somchai in servicing parts with his bike spanners saying "mai pen rai" over something important and assuming it'll be fine lol Probably unwarranted with Thai itself but not sure about the others as you say !

True story I flew their 747 from Bangkok to Gatwick and it was literally grounded indefinately 3 days later again at Gatwick with a list of serious defects that ensured it never flew again lol 3 years later it was still grounded with no prospect of airport charges being sorted. Assume it was scrapped there eventually

If Thai immigration want to deny a passenger entry all they have to do is state officially we do not consider yourself a genuine tourist Why make up a fanatsy story in the first place. I've never had the slightest issue with Truemove internet per se and have a cracking short code (on a month by month basis) but credit disappearing is straight forward theft

I know this has come up before Twice in the past I went in to a Truemove shop and they "reset" something but as soon as the new month started off it would come again My Sim needed credit added so I could advance the validity. as only had a week left.....from experience you got to have your wits about you lol Transferred 25 Baht from SCB to the Sim and immediately started dialling the short code to advance it 6 months 12 Baht to advance......Did it and fortunately it successfully worked as always Within a minute credit was down to 3 baht left so 10 had disappeared 2 minutes later all gone Short of binning the Sim (could do) next time in Thailand surely there must be a way of stopping this. Claims of I've clicked on links are spurious. Clearly Truemove are aware of the issues The one time you need that phone to work is in emergency hospital situation and the three hospital numbers I've got saved wont connect from lack of credit !

I can categorically refute your "info goes to the tax authorities in both Thailand and your home country automatically" ......if they had informed UK HMRC it would have been further used against me (and I'll leave it at that lol) Right so I've now given 5 large to my Thai wife to change £500 at a time at different TT exchanges Bear in mind we are talking about ourselves not Thai nationals Do carry on.........

If the requirement is to show proof of funds and my SCB app shows 600k at point of entry with my name clearly displayed then I fail to see how a decline notice over funds could possibly be listed as the reason ! I get the hard cash bit but even in Thailand some common sense has to prevail I've just drawn out £500 yesterday here just in case I have never ever seen someone in any immigration queues asked to go into their bag and produce cash. Has anyone else here !

Whilst I have never been asked to show hard cash at immigration under this new 60 day visa exempt entry ( which will be royally abused over the coming months) I wouldnt be remotely surprised to see more requests at immigration desks to see the cash
