  1. There are floor drain that block odor and bugs either by holding water or having a flap that closes when water stops running.  You can find them in construction stores, global, Homepro, lazada, etc.  If you get a water one try to find one that holds a decent amount of water so it doesn't evaporate away real quick.  Lots of them have a very small rim that doesn't hold much water.

Alternatively get a rigid flat piece of plastic and cover the drain with it when not in use.  You can put something to weight it down if you want.  Some put water bottles on top of the plastic.

The imposed Thai insurance is cover for 40k outpatient and 400k in patient so pretty useless for serious illness/accident..

Better to get your own insurance sorted that covers life threatening diseases.

Pacific Cross has several plans that qualify for the O-A visa/extension.  The Maxima plan for instance pays up to 5,000,000 baht per incidence(not per year).  Some with lower and higher coverage than this.

  3. Perhaps a solution to this is to get your insurance company to change the dates of the policy to the date you will go back in to apply for the extension.  You will then be covered from that day on.  But they will not give you a full years extension and only allow it to the end of policy date.  So your extension date will change for future years.  From that point on it should be no problem as both dates will be the same.

(I just extended in Ratchaburi yesterday.  I had my insurance date the same as the extension date.  Worked fine there.)

What's the cut off age for not bothering with CPR !!

It is more like "What is the cut off distance"  My brother was a paramedic.  He told me once it is extremely rare for anyone to be saved by CPR.  He said when they were in front of family they would do it to show the family they were trying.  But once they left they stopped doing it.

  5. I took mine at 62, just starts this Jan.  When I did the math if I waited until 67 it would take 13 years to get back the money I would have got for the previous 5 years.  That would put me at 80 to break even.  I might not even be alive then.  Plus as others have mentioned if you invest that money it would make an even greater difference.

I am not sure why the original poster added the complexity of converting it to baht.  That can change in a wide range over time.

our air purifiers are in use, even the burning season hasn't started yet ...

Drove to Chiang Mai for a couple of weeks last month.  I didn't see much burning in Chiang Mai but driving thru Lampang there were fires burning everywhere.

Is that the general immigration website? I have a Mac. My 90 day is due next week. Like many of us, I have never ever been able to do this, and it costs me 500b to go to CW for 2 minutes or 2 hours.

You can also do them by mail.  Just make sure you include a filled out return envelope with postage stamp on it, plus the other required stuff which you can look up.
