lots of tourists come here and ride motorbikes around. Some that have never rode one before. The great majority do so without any problem. But there are those that do get into trouble. It can be very dangerous to ride here even when experienced. Wrong place at the wrong time no matter what you are in trouble. There are around 60 or so deaths per day, so there must be thousands that are injured each day. Always remember there is no such thing as right of way here. Always be aware of your surroundings and expect the unexpected at any time.

How long did it take to arrive?
Seems like tierlock has pretty good deal (that's local)
My orders from vitacost and iherb take around 3-4 weeks.
2 bottles of this(3 lbs total) for about 890 baht with shipping. Hard to beat that price here.

I ordered 2 bottles of DE from vitacost. Vitacost shipping is $10 to Thailand. It arrived no problem. You can find it on lazada now too but more expensive.

diatomaceous earth for a non toxic solution. You can find it on lazada but kind of expensive here. Also you can apply it wet but it is only effective when dry.
For toxic you can use Ecto Tak and spray the walls with it. It smells real strong until it dries.

It is silly that a requirement of the retirement visa is to have a bank account but most branches think you need a work permit. Either get that branch to talk to the main office or try another branch nearby.

There is some pretty good Thai beef available. I get mine from KU Beef. 5 star rib eye costs ฿850/kilo. You have to buy a whole piece for that price, 4-5 kilos. But they will slice how thick you want and vacuum seal for free. But too expensive for ฿49 steak.

When you get the retirement visa from the Thai embassy in the US it will be a multiple entry visa for the first year. So you can leave and come back in that year no problem. After that if you get a 1 year extension from immigration in Thailand it will cost your 1,900 baht each. For an additional 3,800 baht each you can get multiple entry again. But if you are only leaving once or twice a year it is cheaper to get a single use reentry, 1,000 baht each.
As far as medical you can go to a government hospital here and see a doctor for about $1.50. I recently had a growth removed from my back at the local hospital, outpatient, and the total cost including medicine to take home was about $23. Private hospitals here are more expensive, some much more so such Bangkok Hospital, but more likely to take your insurance IF it covers you living here. There is insurance you can buy here from companies such as BUPA that are pretty cheap for coverage just in Thailand. But they will exclude lots of stuff for preexisting conditions.

sounds like the newer 10 year retirement visa is a better deal than the elite if you are over 50 years old and can meet the financial requirements.

I might be wrong, but I thought it was Government policy for all businesses to employ "x" amount of staff depending on the size of the business/company.
I remember reading that somewhere too.

you can get vitamins at sites such as iherb much cheaper, even including shipping. The main downside is you have to keep the order under 1,500 baht and less than 2 kg to avoid paying customs charges.

It should be easy to tell if it is the fan motor or compressor making the noise. The clip may have downloaded corrupted for me but I did not see the fan blades turning.
Fan motor would be far cheaper to replace than the compressor.

I dont think anyone has mentioned the most important thing about using a foreign card to withdraw cash from a Thai ATM or an ATM anywhere in the World. And that is to say 'NO' to any exchange rate offered by the ATM. The rate offered is abysmal and nowhere near the Mastercrcard, Visa, etc., rate you will get if you decline it. Many people think you have to accept it to get your money but you do not.
Recently I did a 30K baht withdrawal from a TMB ATM. It offered to convert it for me with a $1,050 US total. Of course I declined it. Then at home I checked my account and they had taken $960 US for the transaction. Accepting the thai bank conversion would have been a $90 additional 'fee'. Far worse of a ripoff than the 220 baht transaction fee.

KTB gives you either 8 or 10, don't remember for sure, free transactions outside of your home jungwat.

Burger king for sure. I think Carl's Jr. too but have not been there. I have had "milkshakes" at other places but they were all a little Ice cream blended with ice.

If you want to be friends with someone don't loan them money or guarantee a loan for them.

If the applicant's spouse will be accompanying him or her, a copy of the applicant's valid marriage certificate must be presented as supporting documentation. If the applicant's spouse is not qualified for the retirement visa (e.g. not age 50+), the spouse will be considered for the Non-Immigrant Visa Type “O” or Temporary Residents.
