The requirements for the original visa obtained in your home country are unrelated to the requirements for extensions obtained in Thailand.

That was one of the good snakes to have around. Just leave them alone and you will have no problem with them. All of the rat snakes are good to have around to help get rid of critters.

I would say at least 80% of male Thai adults are former monks. It is a pretty meaningless thing to say.

Just a ruse to make people think Big Joke is still alive. Has anyone ever seen him entering or leaving the building he supposedly works at now?

Based on the title I would add:
It is perfectly acceptable to pick your nose in public. Double barreling is even better.
But if you are using a toothpick make sure you cover it up.

we have this in Canada too in some places, I believe it was a response to cheap ass diners not tipping waiters who depend on gratuity to make a minimum wage job worth their while..
In San Francisco they passed a law that restaurants must add a 25% service charge to the bill. That money only goes to the front house people. The reason it was passed into law is that most people receiving tips under report them for income tax purposes. Of course 25% is over the top but a very liberal controlled city.

1 hour ago, Pattaya46 said:"Future insurance requirements for other visas?"
Unsure why the OP is asking this question...
There is absolutely nobody here who can give him the answer.
The question mark is there simply because I did not want to make it seem I knew this would occur for certain. There has been speculation in some of the threads that the insurance requirement might spread to other categories. Here is a statement from an insurance company that it may indeed happen. That probably bears more credence than members here speculating that it might happen.

I was just reading this Pacific Cross article. https://www.pacificcrosshealth.com/en/o-a-visa/
One section states: "If the move proves successful, it is anticipated that the requirement will become mandatory for other types of Thai visa including Tourist Visas, Marriage Visas and other forms of long-term visa."
I would think Pacific Cross believes this based on conversations they have had with government officials even though it is not mentioned.

I find the overly white skin unattractive. Pretty much anything fake does not appeal to me.

I see cars speeding past real police vehicles with no consequence let alone cardboard ones. I imagine they will be laying flat when traffic gets congested and the shoulder is used as an extra lane.

First thing to consider is your home banks policies. They can charge a fee for a foriegn withdrawal and also a foriegn transaction fee(a percentage of the exchange rate) Then the Thai banks charge a 220 baht fee no matter the amount of withdrawal. TMB, Krungsri and some SCB ATM's allow up to 30,000 baht withdrawals, as long as your home bank also allows that much. Charles Schwab has no fees or foreign transaction fee and also rebates most charges foreign banks charge giving you free withdrawals. You may find some banks that also refund other banks fees but most put a limit on how much they will rebate per month.
Then never accept the exchange rate the ATM offers you. It is much lower than the rate visa/mastercard give you, which is very close to the rate you see when looking them up. Always choose the 'continue with no conversion option.

About 5 years ago I rescued a young girl that was drowning. No one else had noticed her. She had gone completely under by the time I reached her. It felt weird knowing that someone was alive because of your actions. The man that brought the children to the reservoir never said thanks just started yelling at her and walked off.

Some shade cloth and long bamboo poles could make a fairly cheap garbage barricade .

Defamation in the USA is harder to win. For one thing you have to prove you were damaged. And as far as the rich they are less protected from defamation in the USA. The fact that Vern told him to stick a minisub up his rear probably didn't help his case either.

I know Pacific Cross has a couple of things age related they add in addition to pre existing exclusions. At age 62 an joint problems have a 30% copay. And there is also a 30% copay for any cardiovascular problems. I am not sure what age it starts. My wife has it and she is 69. The copays cap out at 300K.

As mentioned earlier some SCB ATMS will allow for a 30K withdrawal but many don't. All of the TMB and Krungsri ATMs I have ever used allow for 30K.

Civic Horizon right across from ekkamai bts station. Pool on the 12th floor is fairly small but hardly saw anyone in it. The hotel seemed to be used mostly by Japanese. It is like a serviced apartment. Rooms have a small kitchenette with a sink, microwave, larger than normal refrigerator and washer/dryer. Also ironing board in the room.

It wasn't the car that saved them it was the amulet inside of it....Duh....

Didn't the Thai government used to offer a low cost health insurance plan for expats but later scrapped it? Perhaps they should come up with some government option for expats (with no exclusions).

I was reading some Thai history. At one point Nakhon Pathom in Ratchaburi was on the coast. The coastline is now very far away.
