  1. I'm not in Pattaya. But in Ratchaburi last year when I did my extension they asked me to come in with a bank letter on my next 90 day report. This year when I did my extension they didn't say anything so I am not doing anything.
  2. I don't think anyone uses checks here. You can get a savings account with a debit card. A basic debit card costs about 200 baht per year. As long as your account is active and has at least 2,000 baht in it you won't have any other fees, except possibly when you use the ATM card out of your province. Also if you want to get a SMS when a withdrawal or deposit is made in your account there is a fee for that. Varies slightly by bank. SCB is 200 baht per year. KTB charges 20 baht per month. It is an instant noticifcation and really nice to have for peace of mind. There are ATM cards that cost up to 1,600 baht per year but include some accident insurance.
  3. The part where your crypto is kept on an exchange, i.e. Bitkub, and not fully under your control. With everything being reported to the government.
  4. Not really spending but collecting less revenue off of diesel. They lowered the taxes on diesel by 2 baht/liter a few weeks ago.
  5. Thailand is hardly the only country that has traditions for who pays for what for weddings.
  6. Is this your first 5 year license? If not you should not need a medical certificate anymore. I only needed one for my temporary license and the first 5 year license. But not to renew the 5 year license.
  7. Lucky woman if she survived that. What is about these guys that they can't let go of someone?
  8. Pretty much every year I have 90 day report dates that are past my extension date. This year my 90 day report date was about a week past my extension date so I did them both at the same time. First time that has happened though. I will have to see what happens next year.
  9. Hey dude. Let's go to Thailand so we can smoke some weed that won't get us high! OMG, These guys are so delusional.
  10. It's illegal to cook vegans. Also Gin Jae they don't use nam pla.
  11. I'm a dog lover. But people here need to be held accountable for letting their dogs roam freely.
  12. Looking at the photo on the right side where the scaffolding is there is a wall behind it that appears to be leaning over too.
  13. So in 2014 they were all required to sign a set of rules to adhere to. But they didn't check for compliance until 8 years later. Now they want to draft a new set of rules that won't be complied with for the next 8 years. Good to go!
  14. The houses on each side of us. One daughter is Tangmo (watermelon) and on the other side is Tonhom (green onion).
  15. Not sure what tying a pig leg to a rope and throwing it overboard proves, unless they think she was tied to a rope too. Was she fully clothed when found? Specifically were her underwear fully on? If so would that match with someone that was urinating?
  16. From their facebook page: "foreigners have the right to join the Armed Forces of Ukraine for military service under Contract of a voluntary basis" I don't know but does voluntary basis mean no pay.
  17. I've only used immigration in Nakhon Pathom and Ratchaburi since I moved here. But I have never been asked for anything extra and they have always been helpful. Ratchaburi immigration recently made a new waiting area outside of their office with free water, coffee, and some snacks. They give you one of those buzzers like some restaurants use to signal you when they are done. The only downside is the new waiting area seating are bundles of hay. LOL.
  18. Sounds like a job for win drivers. They like shooting each other.
  19. Got to make sure those Russian tourists will still be coming to Thailand.
  20. Not to be outdone by 3 whale rock. https://goo.gl/maps/6f4esUDhoQX4RbbN9
  21. It's all the airline food they were selling at their office and 7/11's,,,
  22. It can cost well over 100 baht to cross Bangkok depending on how you go. Then you have the return trip too. Say 20 days a month x 200 baht over a year would be be close to 50K baht per year. I think Thailand would price the annual pass way higher than what you quote for Switzerland.
  23. But if you are taking out 20 or 30K it makes a big difference in trying to fit it into your wallet.
