Fast fix. Get something flat like a thick piece of plastic to cover the drains when not in use. Can put something heavier, like a bottle of water, on top to help hold it down. Better fix. Change the floor drains to ones that have a flap on the bottom that close when no water is draining. Keeps odors and critters out. There are 2 types. Those that use a spring to keep it closed and those that have a weight flap. I like the spring ones better, they seal tighter. Just saw a third type on Lazada that uses magnets. No experience with those. Global house sells some or on Lazada.

Build one of those bug net enclosures. Like they use for melon farms. They are like a greenhouse but with insect screen instead of solid plastic sheets. -

In another 15 years. Yep nearly up. Anyway as bad as Russia had wanted to get him back they should have at least got both of the Americans released. -

Most insurance here covers the vehicle not the driver. -

Only if you have an USA address. I don't maintain a US address or phone number which makes banking from there very difficult. The Schwab One account you can use whatever address and phone number you are using. You have to show some proof of the address such as a utility bill. I was able to use my Thai Drivers license to verify my address. The document used can be in Thai too, they have it translated. I imagine the same would be true with other languages.

You could get a Schwab One International account. You need $25,000 to open an account there. It is a brokerage account not really a bank account but you can get checks and a debit card for it. Their debit card has no fees, no foreign transaction fees, and even immediately refunds most foreign bank fees. Like the fee Thai banks charge for foreign ATM cash withdrawals. Just don't accept the exchange rate the ATM tries to get you to accept. That is the biggest fee of all. So basically with their debit card you can get completely free cash withdrawals in Thailand. You can also link external accounts with them and easily move money between them. Also international wires have only a $15 fee. But when I wire money to my Thai bank they immediately rebate that fee too. So the wire is free for me. It sounds like the money you are making while staying in Thailand is from outside of Thailand. So why get Thailand involved in it anyway?

Total sugar in a product will usually be higher than the added sugar. Lots of the other ingredients can have sugar in them naturally. Label one works out to 2 grams of sugar per cookie. A cookie would be 6.8 grams (34/5). Label two says 21% added sugar. So 6.8 x .21 means 1.428 grams of added sugar. The difference probably mostly comes from the raisins.

https://goo.gl/maps/mHJgYnKKxz6iTcTS7 You could go see Sam Phan Bok too. The longer from the rainy season the better. The lower the water level in the river the more you can see. They are building a dam down river from it and it will probably cover the area all year once completed. I recommend hiring a guide to take you around. They know where all the best formations are. https://goo.gl/maps/Z6FEouWswvZhiqeJA

Bank insists I wear a mask
rwill replied to happydays's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
I was in Chiang Mai the past couple of weeks. It was extremely rare to see a foreigner with a mask on. Also at least 10% of the locols weren't wearing them either. -
Bank insists I wear a mask
rwill replied to happydays's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
I remember back at the beginning of Covid I went to my local bank and they wouldn't let me in. There was a sign on the door that foreigners were not allowed inside. While the wife and I were at the front door talking to the security guard the bank manager happened to see me and came out and told him to let me in. -

Maybe if a bunch of people with masks on start robbing banks they will change their policy. Or perhaps they could have you remove your mask at the door for a photo and have you put it back on. -
