a child is of course what "binds" the man to stay around. Unfortunately it is a disaster and extremely stressful for the man due to the power and manipulation it affords the woman. IMO it is just not worth it. IF the woman , over time, adapts a different attitude........ (from LONG DISTANCE communication) ..... then the man can attempt to see the child. I really suggest skype as a much better alternative, as I have learned that people just can not change ! and "losing" brings out this thing called revenge.... crazy people: i still recommend escape

all sounds good. but, not a "nearby town". get far away, and do not let her know how to contact you. "angry and resentful" are only going to cause bad things to happen.....and as experienced guys know, there is no "coming to a good understanding" . any guy here (who is not the one at fault in a relationship) should get over this guilt thing that has a grip on their balls and just accept that some things do not work out. and to try to fix something that can't be fixed is stupid. regarding another posters suggestion to tell her you are moving out. NOPE. best way is to pack what you can carry and leave quickly when she is out somewhere. really bad situations have only one solution: escape !

Jeeez, just like BM2 I am amazed how many of you guys just don't have a clue. (but as i always say.... up to you). Go ahead and live your lives following the "talk to her and find out what her needs are. Maybe she has not had enough somtam this week. Or maybe her hormones are still in her thai boyfriends bedroom. Take her out for a nice lunch (hahahaha where do you guys get this sheeeet ? ) I went through the dating sites deleting every stupid girl's request " i want to find a kind man who will take care of me and my family" . And believe it or not ..... I found one who lived up to her promise to love and take care of Me. And what do all these jealous guys say when they see us ? They tell me how lucky I am to have found her . hahahaha stupid guys. She is luckier to have found me ! Choose wisely......... and when you find out you failed..........try again. ( Fix yourselves first)

very good advice for "normal people". i can't recall meeting very many normal people(thai,farang relationships) in the last ten years, however, the dynamics of the thai/farang relationship is like an encyclopedia : about 22 volumes long. I have tried many of the "how to get along" words of wisdom that many guys espouse. Finally realized I was sane and not the one with problems. After that life became a lot simpler !

I believe you. Seems like many here are either real p******s or just willing to go with " most of the time she is wonderful" . If that was the case with me.... ACTUALLY............... that does make a lot of sense. Because I when I hear/read a post like the OPs I can hardly believe its even true. BUT, then again I see many Farang/Thai relationships where I can't see why in the world the thai girl is with the Farang guy . where is your land ? some of your questions are very easy for you to find answers by yourself .. .... and you will learn a lot in the process. If you do not speak thai now is also a great way to learn (like i did) ASK neighbors: how much is a truckload of dirt ( the 6 wheel trucks are usually 5 cu capacity) yes, sometimes they do not look completely full Another way is to pay for set area of land for a set price ( you agree how high you want the fill to be ( usually about 1 meter) . Look at what they use for roads (din ruuk rang .....but thais make it sound like Luuk Lang . the temptation is always to try to save on the filling. not smart. Get more than you think you need, it takes time (one rainy season) to settle and be firm. Retaining walls not really needed , but depends on you . A good wall around a rai of land will cost about 600 baht per linear meter LABOR, and materials about that much as well ( 2 meters high) electric office and water office will tell you how much it will cost to run lines to the land so on and so on....... many houses built in rice fields. Be sure to have good windows forwhen they burn the rice stalks

Chiang Dao is beautiful . It is about halfway between CM and Fang , where i lived for a few years. Used to ride my Honda wing on that route often ........ 3 hours from Fang to CM . great scenery

that photo is near Chomtong....70 km south of Chiangmai city. I lived there 5 years. I first lived just outside of Chiangrai , then Fang 150 km north of CM. Also Doi Saket ....... And have had a home in quiet part of CM for 15 years . Something about Northern Thailand that keeps me here ... quite beautiful, and cooler than the South.
