Hi, I am british. Am I eligible for an SETV in Britain even though I live in France ? ( I have all the necessary requirements). Reason, I’ll be in GB visiting family, ( Cardiff) and it’s easier than going 1000km from Cannes to Paris plus hotel cost. Thanks.

The last time I flew with Thai I was very surprised at how old the plane was. Prices were high then. I wouldn’t fly with them again. The high Baht will take its toll on all Thai exports too, it affects nearly everything if you think about it. Here in Europe , restaurants are buying the Cambodian rice instead of the Thai, price
26 € the big sack Cambodian
41 € the Thai.

Mannequins are expensive ,a known fact to anyone’s who has a shop. That said, sounds a lot for thailand. On the other hand, kids are often badly behaved when out , parents fault. They get bored.Ive seen a waiter fall over a kid that darted off his chair in a restaurant, plates of food flying everywhere and he hurt himself slipping. The family said sorry and left the restaurant. One of my neighbours has a very chic dress shop, she was literally screamed at by rude mothers when she asked them not to bring their kids in eating ice cream ! How about the couple with their screaming child who spoilt our evening meal out, and all the other clients ? Fault is often put on business owners when all it is is bad parenting.

So how about a letter to The Nation, or Bangkok Post inquiring about these numbers ?

How about life imprisonment for van and taxi drivers who can’t drive ?

A good nanny in Bangkok gets around 18000 to 25000 Baht month. They usually do a bit of house keeping or cooking . If you have someone looking after your kids , you want someone you can trust ..

Saltire, dont drop the meds like that, very dangerous. See your Dr. I was told not to stop mine by specialists in France, and even tho my readings were much better.

Can’t remember if it is, but warnings should be written on every visa and landing card and why not air tickets .

Sorry about what happened but it could have been avoided if you had gone to Malaysia or Singapore for emergency treatment. Common sense should have told you you cannot enter having been blacklisted. Anyone staying / living in Thailand knows this. Why did you take the risk ?

I don’t know what you are all joking about as you know absolutely nothing about why he has changed jobs ! Or what his new position concerns.

Climbing Machu Picchu at 62 , breathtaking, literally ! Jungle trecking through Borneo and staying in the Dayak and Iban villages. Can’t choose the best experience.

Tropposurfer, funny that, I’ve found Koh Chang beaches and water to be some of the cleanest in Thailand, and in my 35 years been to nearly all of them. Of course, they were all clean years back ! Also you do not sit on a ferry “ for ages” the crossings pretty quick.
Otherwise , yes, Weekends are the busiest times for ferry crossings.

If he wanted to do some good , he could give help to the Thais who can’t afford to go on holiday !

Exactly, trust your instincts. Never let a child alone with any man/boy , always be with them. There’s enough terrible news in the papers already, so don’t take a chance.

By the way, I usually take a taxi from a company that has a good reputation. On the last ride, I got to the airport feeling sick. From Jomtien to half way ,he looked at his phone, then the last half drove about 60 km an hour ! I did speak to him, I did ask, only when I got a bit angry he decided to drive like a snail! Two hours of misery. Think I’ll stick to the bus.

Well I hope it’s only a rumour, it’s a good safe , very cheap service and saying they disrupt traffic is a bit of a laugh considering the traffic problems in Pattaya.

It’s quite obvious that most of the tourists are on package tours, Chinese , Indian , and westerners . Just look at the buses outside hotels or at the airports . Package tourists spend much less, and lots of the profits go to travel agencies/companies. Very little indépendant travellers, who have found greener grasses elsewhere.
In Europe, just look in any agency windows and on the Internet, super deals , 1000 € , 12 days Thailand ( and other destinations of course) flight, hotel, half board, airport shuttle all included. Work it out !

bazzer, sorry you’ve had all these problems, please don’t worry, he’ll be fine and home with you soon. He’s not the first and won’t be the last to do this, tho knowing this does not compensate for your sleepless nights. Sometimes we do very stupid things, and then have to face up to them. Kids are a worry. Even grown ones !!!

Is it that easy to steal a boat, what about keys ?

Move into a cheap hotel for a week or two before doing your extension if the worse comes to the worst.

Don’t think so. Not in SE Asia anyway.
