and i could not sleep last night at all.
You will need a good long walk every day, early evening , at least an hour.
maybe some light exercises , 20 mins a day, ( morning or afternoon. ) You can find easy things on internet. No caffeine after 5. Not too much to drink. Eat early. Try that for a week, it will sure help. If your body is tired, you will sleep. We are all stressed, even if we think we’re fine. Take care, it’s not forever.

Most potential tourists won’t be able to fly no matter what the airlines say. If international flights and borders in their own countries are closed, you’re not going anywhere. That, plus the rules for entering Thailand , ( or any other county) ,mandatory health insurance and medical report letter.

Are they talking about inbound foreign tourists, Chinese, westerners ?
or hoping the Thai nationals are going to start holidaying ? -
Yes, me too, today.

So much bad information out there. How does bringing your own food endanger anyone? If I eat a sandwich, I will spread a disease, which I do not have to begin with? There is an astonishing degree of insanity happening, and a real zombie apocalypse mentality setting in.
The social distancing on planes will be an absolute delight.
The seats, pull down tables, head rests , arm rests, toilets etc etc in any airplane have been proven to be amongst the dirtiest places you can be, plus the amount of bacteria found, even in the blankets ( I thought they were sort of clean) and the head rests !!! Yuck !!!! Read up on the subject, you won’t like what you read. Airlines know this, so banning food is an obvious choice . This might be hard for Asians in general, as they can’t get on a plane, bus or train without eating, no matter the distance. You even see it in the public buses.

The zoo has always had a rotten reputation. In good times when tourists went there, there were always bad reviews and reports from all over the world. Anyone think they are taking care of the animals now ? The place is filthy. This wouldn’t happen in a decently run zoo, even if I am against the business in the first place.

@lust A few months back we found a small center of 8 shophouses with a 20-Baht store, seamstress, cheap milk tea cafe, cheap noodle shop etc... inquired with the landlord about the remaining vacant properties, and they asked for 50,000 baht /mo. Theres no way the other shops are paying that let alone making that. No idea what they're basing the valuation on.
Your face !
send the wife or another Thai friend back alone.-

If the PM is asking the 20 richest families for a donation it already is bankrupt.
Can Thailand go bankrupt with its billions of dollars in reserve ?

The problem is that many jobs will not even exist for a long time. Obviously, businesses will not start employing people till life goes back to normal, meaning other Thais earning money ,and tourists come back. It’s going to be a very hard slog in this country where there are no social benefits.

I don’t want to sound mean, but I think you may have fallen into a scam. Thai men in their work rarely speak any English at all for a start. It all seems too exaggerated to me. Sorry.

I was not scaremongering. Sorry but haven’t kept the articles, I would have thought many would have read them.

Sorry, I don’t know what happened with my post or why it got posted thrice ! There have been quite a few articles mentioning pneumonia for three months now. At first I thought nothing of it . There is one article further up this thread.´

Thousands of Thais are said to be having pneumonia, I’ve personally never heard of so many outbreaks all over Thailand. Anyone else ?
Also, when these people die , it is registered as From unidentified cause . -
There’s going to be a whole lot of Thais who are going to be in deep trouble financially. How long before the banks start recalling ?
Thats not counting the millions of Thailand’s poor who won’t know how to carry on.-

A little caution certainly, but what about postponing the school reopening to July, when France, hundreds of times more affected than Thailand, announced yesterday that its schools will reopen in one month, on May 11th?
The schools in France will only open on the 11 th if the situation allows it to. Also,
There were a great number of pneumonia cases being reported in January and February. There will be no international travel until September from Europe and certainly the USA the way things look.

There is the answer, testing is expensive, so there are no true figures of contamination.

Tonight they will announce plans to stop international flights until September. For Europe ,that is the right decision. The authorities don’t want people going on holidays, and bringing back the virus all over again. It’s the same everywhere, people won’t have any spare money when this is all over. Question is for Thailand, will the Chinese come flocking back, and when ? I doubt that you can count too much on Indian tourists returning soon. Normal life has been disrupted, and it’s just too sad that there is no help for the Thais , but there never has been.

Since the corona virus outbreak, there has been a lot of talk in Europe about relocating certain factories back home. I think it’s a very good idea. Many big companies are moving out of China to mostly Vietnam. Even Apple are looking in to it.

I mentioned yesterday, there are talks going on to keep borders in Europe closed until September. No long haul flights allowed. They particularly want to stop holiday makers/tourists going out and then bringing back the virus again. Sounds right to me.

It’s a lesson for everyone in these difficult times., Be responsible. Most foreigners did not leave the country when they should have, take responsibility of your actions. Finding yourself in lockdown in a hostel may not be fun, it’s not supposed to be. Social distancing, confinement, everyone has to do their best. I know of tourists who went from Myanmar to Thailand, straight to Suvarnabhumi, queued night and day in turns to get flights home, didn’t sleep for 48 hrs, but then found flights , which they paid for again, and did not complain. Effort . lots of people want everything handed them-on a plate and then complain when it doesn’t go their way.

I definitely think that handshake and * la bise*, kissing on left and right cheeks, has made the virus situation worse. Spain , Italy and lots of south Europeans are kissing each other every day, all the time. I live in France, usually walking down the road you’d usually meet half a dozen people who will *faire la bise*. Being British, I usually try to get out of this as much as I can, sometimes for ex.you go to a party or dinner and you end up having to kiss every bloody person there ! I walk in, put up my hand , and say hi everybody . No wonder that the virus spread so fast in these countries.
On the other hand, the scientists say it’s nothing to do with heat or weather conditions, whether there is less or more contagion. What does make a difference is when it’s cold, damp , and generally bad weather ( winter) people cough and sneeze more, and viruses are spread easily. You don’t see much influenza in summer for example.

But why are all those private cars on the road anyway ?
Exactly !! You shouldn’t be out driving around unless you have a special delivery / doctor/ frontline worker authorization !!! Why can’t the people understand ?

Are you exercising ? Eating properly, drinking 3 L of water a day, no tea / coffee/ caffeine after 5 afternoon ? If you have the chance to go to Boots chemist, they sell little masks that you put in the fridge, use them one or two times during the day, morning , before you get up for instance, lay there for 10/15 mins relaxing, they decongest you’re eye bags. Feels great too. Plus a good long walk every day.
