Please...... I was just almost run over at a pedestrian crossing today by about 6 cars while trying to cross (with my kid, no less), which happens daily, by the way. They couldn't care less about law, order, and decency -- but hold their culture up higher, lol. I reckon this whole sunbathing scandal was just an opportunity to take a jab at foreigners, and bolster Thai image. Don't bother to talking to me about Thai culture. Their priorities are aligned their way, and mine are aligned my way. I really don't care much for their culture - it's theirs, not mine - and I think tourists should be treated with humble respect as guests in the country, unless they are being disorderly. At this point, I don't think Thailand deserves much tourism considering the way tourists are ripped off from the moment they walk out of the airport. I didn't grow up in a council estate, mate. Lol. And I don't think the Western people or the Western media would create such a big stink over a slight faux pas such as this. They need to grow up.

Nor am I coming from some moral, cultural, or religious highground. You are just going round in circles now. Exactly 💯 And being ripped off by virtually every taxi and tuk tuk driver, not to mention being almost killed by any average citizen at almost every pedestrian crossing. You'd maybe not care too much for locals' feelings after that anyway. Offended by sitting on grass? lol. But it's okay to lie, cheat, steal, and cause manslaughter? Mai pen rai. People ought to practice what the Buddha taught if they want to criticise others. As I said, this was just a racial gripe about farang. Probably jealously.

The is BS. They were sitting on the grass and they weren't naked. They weren't drinking or smoking or anything. What should they have considered before doing that?

How about having the locals complain when tourists sit down on the grass at a temple? Then, write a news article about it creating a big stink? That would be a great way to welcome tourists from all over the world.

I wish they were equally concerned with things like obeying traffic laws and such....rather than feeling culturally offended by people sitting on grass at a temple. Lol What's the chances the same Karen (Ploy) almost mowed someone down on a pedestrian crossing on her way home?
