Well, I lived in an Isaan village for the best part of a decade (about 40km outside a city) The villagers ate plenty of grilled pork and chicken. Various larb meats were available, including beef. Chicken soup, fish soup. Eggs galore. I do agree that I felt we didn't eat enough fruit n veggies, except bamboo,mushrooms, and eggplants. We had a Sunday market at our nearby amphur with all the meats and there would also be trucks driving around every few days selling it

Yeah, and I'm willing to bet he buys his grilled chicken from an Isaan cuisine restaurant in his local area, serving it with sticky rice. It's like grilled pork in Central Thailand. You can only get it from the Isaan restaurants, stalls, etc etc. It's not actually part of Central Thai cuisine because it doesn't pair with steamed rice. Our relatives from Central Thailand told us they never (ever) eat it because it's not their cuisine. It pairs with sticky rice which is not what they eat in that region. I was surprised cos it's just pork on a BBQ grill. I had assumed, at that time, it would be eaten all over Thailand.

You might as well say rice isn't part of Thai cuisine. Of course, chicken is part of Isaan cuisine. It's part of many cuisines. They make it and eat it there! What did you think they were eating? International chicken? ???? It doesn't have to be particularly unique. What do you want them to do to the chicken to make it their own?? Haha

My least favorite is Central Thailand. Whenever we visit relatives there, it's just 'pad gra pao 'every 2nd day, alternating with fried rice or omelet. How boring.

Isaan cuisine is one of my favorites. A variety of juicy BBQ or fried meats (with flavorful dipping sauces), spicy salads, and sticky rice. What's not to like? Chicken soup, various larbs, and even their own version of Tom Yum soup (hot and sour; no sweet coconut milk in it). Great stuff!

I think it can't drop below 400k, right? It's probably because they are wise to retirees using agents to just drop money in the bank two months before then take it out again after they get visa. Lol I don't agree. Many investments are illiquid and to sell quick you have to sell cheap (e.g. Thai property market) Some investments are volatile. You can drop 90% on some stocks in a very short period of time. They can go to zero too. How you gonna pay the rent then? Alright Warren Buffett. I have a stock portfolio too, but I wouldn't feel comfortable - and it would probably be irresponsible - if my cash balance dropped below 400k with a family to support or retired. Like, seriously, would you be retired and be 100% in stocks?? That's a good way to ruin your life. You should always have an emergency fund and 400k minimum ain't a lot if you've worked your whole life

Not at all. The only significance is that he didn't violently attack actual real women (females), which society strongly believes is bad. I think the article points out the trans thing to highlight the fact that he attacked biological men, which is generally considered a lesser offence by society.

Why? It makes sense to me. They're men who are in a trans state. Similar to ladyboy. They are boy/male, but act like a lady. We don't call them 'man ladies.' That would be stupid an akin to 'trans women'
