  1. She had to pay 700 a day interest until she was able to return the initial loan. The 700 a day is just interest, not actually paying back the loan itself. She would still need to give back the whole 13,000, nevermind any interest paid.
  2. Of course they do. They were to pay 700 a day interest until they gave back the initial 13,000 they borrowed. They paid 700 a day interest for 90 days, totaling 63,000 on interest. They could have given the loan shark back his 13,000 at any point and be free from it. How do you think it works exactly?
  3. Tell that to my EX who was unemployed and used two cars as collateral to get a 1 million baht loan.
  4. Yes, they do. You use the asset as collateral. If you don't pay, they keep the car.
  5. Probably none of it.
  6. I'd sooner throw a viper down my shirt front.
  7. I have a friend in this business. It seems nothing but hassle.
  8. Exactly. Use the pick up to borrow money from the bank or use the pick up to murder someone. Tough choice.
  9. He could have used the car - assuming he owns it - to borrow from the bank. Probably could have gotten a few hundred thousand (against the car) if he wanted that much.........and at a relatively reasonable rate, too. Then, just give the loan shark back the original 13,000 baht to settle the debt. And then pay the bank back to get the carbook back over a number of years, at a few thousand baht per month. He'd still have a few hundred grand in his pocket from the car refinancing, so he wouldn't have to worry too much about missing payments and losing the car.
  10. About half of Thaifriendly
  11. But we aren't talking about publicly shaming the women. You could call them a prostitute in private - by private message even, for example, not even face-to-face - and they'd still not like being labelled as that.
  12. Yup, the latest one is, "I'm not a prostitute, I'm a freelancer"
  13. Nope, not really. I appreciate Buddhism and Christianity. Can't say I am a full believer in anything. I disdain Thai Buddhism and I certainly ain't Catholic anymore, but that has nothing to do with coming to Thailand, and I probably was never really Catholic anyway.
  14. I did find this interesting: - 98% of asylum seekers don't carry identification documents. You'd think they'd want to make their asylum claim easier with some form of ID, rather than making it difficult to identify them. - 90% are male. Why is that? Lol https://www.migrationwatchuk.org/press-release/668 Emphasis on the heading: Nearly 90% of those crossing in boats from safe countries are male Why are they coming to the UK from safe countries to claim asylum? Lol

I wai when I meet royalty, and a few others.
  16. I am stating opinions, not facts. I don't have to back up my opinions.
  17. Off you trot and show some data to back this up. By the way, Albanians are now number 1 for asylum in the UK. What would Albanians need to seek asylum from?
  18. How can beliefs be incorrect? This is persecution. Perhaps, I'll claim asylum.
  19. You seem to have trouble with reading. I said the other parts weren't relevant to MY response; I wasn't responding to your 24% data, so I didn't quote it. I wasn't referring to YOUR response to my previous post, lol
  20. Arriving as most of them do: you mean on a boat after throwing away their passport and other identification?
  21. I think Red Lion is 230 for Guiness on same soi and they pour a good pint (of lager at least) Buddy's, I think, is 250 for a Guinness.
  22. I agree. The tourist industry here is vile.
