  1. Is there any Asian people that respect pedestrian crossings? Lol
  2. Cos it's a free world and we have choices. Thailand is not your country. It belongs to Thais. You are a guest and guests cannot vote. This is not a logical argument for British expats not being allowed to vote.
  3. Capitalism was born with the idea that if you paid the working man extra money, he would work extra hours, and increase productivity. It was a novel idea at the time. Before that, they were expected to work extra for no overtime, almost like slaves, but that wasn't very productive. That's socialism/communism for you. Slavery! Capitalism gives everyone a fair shot - and most importantly, freedom! - but you have to be financially literate, among other attributes. This doesn't sound like capitalism. It sounds like socialism. How will taxing the rich more make poor people any richer?? Rich people get taxed as much as 50% already. What more do you want? You want the state to own everything??
  4. British expats can make national insurance contributions for the state pension
  5. Damn right. Any conservative party is better than liberal loonatics Cos they care what happens to their country.
  6. They don't. They love our money. The women are just as bad.
  7. I know that. I was expressing surprise that it was her because the accident looked worse for the other person. If it wasn't evident from my first post, I went on to explain it twice (to 2 other members who can't infer meaning). Now, 3rd time. But you quoted one of my responses where I was clarifying what I meant. At least the other two were confused by my first post because they don't have inferencing skills, but you are confused by my clarification - which you quoted - and I was writing very clearly, grading my language down to elementary school level, lol Maybe they have a problem with reading comprehension, like you.
  8. Who cares what women like? And hair is probably last on their list. The women chase me anyway, at least in Thailand, haha
  9. No thanks, I'd never invest here. Too crooked.
  10. People could have some fun and casino operators and their shareholders will make money for providing the service. It's a win-win. Do you think we should ban alcohol, cigarettes, weed, pornography, go go bars, sugary soda, fast food, women, insurance, marriage, temples, and tuk tuks? It's all a big w@nk, mate. Enjoy the circle of life.
  11. Glad I don't live out in the jungle anymore. Full of absolute headbangers.
  12. Good! Gambling has never been a vice of mine, but for Thai women it's their kryponite.
  13. Absolutely nothing of interest there.
  14. Yeah and the ones without money are already gambling online and offline.
  15. More like the farang husbands suffering after their wives lose everything he gave her This should be interesting.
  16. Yeah, people have been struck by lightning while touching metal faucets at the sink in their home when the lightning struck nearby. I actually had a similar experience when touching our metal electrical box inside the house (which was connected to earth with a giant earthing rod) during a lightning storm. The lightning struck nearby as I touched the metal box and I felt a weak electric shock coming up from the ground to our metal box.
  17. Here's what I wrote: "Amazing how easy it is to die on the roads here. The accident didn't look that bad, especially for the turning rider. I assumed the one who died was the one going straight as he was moving so fast and therefore would gave hit the tarmac harder." I still don't see your confusion. This reads as: I am surprised the turning rider was the one who died cos I had assumed it was the other guy, due to the accident appearing worse for him. I get that it requires slightly higher level reading comprehension skills, such as inferencing, and I took for granted that guys here would have secondary school reading skills. It just seems so obvious to me. The phrase "amazing how easy" in this context infers surprise. I also later described how her impact didn't seem as bad as the other guy's. And the past tense "assumed" clearly indicates a previous assumption. Therefore, if I previously assumed the turning rider died, then obviously I must have reached the conclusion that the other person actually died, since there was only two people involved. I don't think this should really need explained to native speakers though.
  18. Right, I was explaining that I assumed it was other guy who died because the accident appeared worse for him. So, clearly I am aware it was the woman who died, but at first I assumed it was the other guy at first cos it appeared worse for him. You didn't get that? The inference seems quite clear.
  19. I know, lol. Please read what I wrote, lol.
  20. I know, I said it was surprising that she was the one who died.
