Thai people! Whether they would react, care or be indifferent etc. is a different issue and is no excuse for politicians to stay silent.

That really applies to many political decisions and processes which are usually complicated or perhaps ongoing. But that doesn't mean politicians should stay silent. They should at least provide an understandable summary of their actions/inaction,

There is quite a lot written in the comments that this Thai celebrity is '...dumb...', lacks info (or words to that effect) etc. Well, that may be so but isn't that part of the politician's job...to know what IS going on? And if they truthfully informed the rest of us them some people could give their opinions on a reasonable basis. Silent politicians only propagate confusion and that's just what we don't need on Russia/Ukraine situation...especially with all the 'nuclear talk'.

Yes I agree, there might be consequences but that's the point...(and those consequences might even affect expats too). But IMHO Thailand (and the other countries that do likewise) should decide where they stand on important World issues such as this one. If the Thai gov. decides that it could not afford to be a enemy of Russia, okay, but at least it would be an explanation that could be accepted (or rejected) by the Thai people.

Well perhaps entertainment celebrities wouldn't feel the need to voice such opinions if the politicians were more vocal on the subject.

As I mentioned on the original thread, I lived in Na Klang for 3 years I lived in a rented place that was just off the main 210 road. Uthai Sawan about 6 km S.W. I found the people very dependant on Temple Monks for advice and many other things so I would think if there is any mental support sought then this would likely be the route local families take. Na klang hospital at that time wasn't large enough (single level) to house many departments and in fact those in need would be transferred to Nong Bua Lam Phu General.

I lived in Naklang for three years some years ago just off the main 210 road. Nice people, many of them struggling to make a living at that time. I can't imagine the shock that the community must be feeling at this time. It is beyond my comprehension as to why someone would want to kill these innocent children and teachers. My condolences to all.

That doesn't take into account some situations. I was married to a Thai Head of Ward Nurse and got free health coverage. When we divorced I was already too old to get insurance and I would not have got automatic health care leaving Thailand and returning to my native country. Going somewhere else would give the same result.

I am not from the USA so I don't know how things work there but I thought that some states allow abortion...is that correct? If so would it be less expensive for a US woman to go to one of those? Or are there residence (and/or other reasons) procedures that might make it very inconvenient or impossible?

The OP can go on the House Registration Document (single two sided sheet) and the OP's wife can sign a form to say that her husband can continue to reside in the home should she die before him (to some limited time). I did this when married and also now I am on the owners House Registration Document to the place I rent. The advantage is that should anything happen to the owner (and new owner wants to change things) I have at least a couple of years to find alternative accommodation. At least that's the idea but unsure about the reality.

Actually, the last time I renewed my dl during the compulsory tv viewing one such 'sketch' is shown at the end. A family in a car starts off from a green light only to hit by a speeding lorry passing through a red light. The Queen was dedicated to the position and with all the tradition etc., not a job I think many of us could do, with all those restrictions. She was compassionate and caring yet firm and strong when needed. I doubt we will see the like of her again. My most sincere sadness at The Queens passing.

Well done. Thailand does tend to do well in the lighter weights. My 'star' pupil', about the same weight, managed to get into Thai stunt TV and Film but in her early days failed in competition Kireugi due to having 'juvenile' Asthma which disappeared 2-3 years later. But it isn't easy easy for the small Thai. Twenty or so years ago the body armour was a lot less in weight and restriction but Kukkiwon started changing the rules, certain kicks were not allowed and others introduced (previously not allowed) But there you go, Kukkiwon has control of <deleted> Tae Kwon Do and one has to either fall n line or move on elsewhere.

Well, unfortunately China has decided to re-invest in more new coal-fired power stations to meet its energy requirements. This according to an article in The Conversation. Apparently in 2020 (I haven't checked for authenticity) China produced more than 254,000 Megawatts from Solar power (USA 75,500 MW) but it could not keep up with demand hence re-investing in coal. Some see this as the world being unable to achieve the 1.50 limit/goal. Guess we'll have to wait and see. (I have already commented on the other 'climate change' thread, 'Bangkok morning turns to night' so I won't repeat it here but yes 'natural climate change' happens everywhere but...)
