  1. I remember some of the "toxic soups" at a couple of beaches near Sydney back in 68! There were 2 beaches almost side by side, one had a sewer outlet. I have visited many beach resorts here in my more than 20 years of working / living here. Here in Thailand I haven't swum in a beach since the late 60's but have swum in other countries where I visited or worked. The biggest risk has always been rips, having been caught unexpectedly in one I am amazed at how often they are ignored by swimmers here in Thailand.
  2. Thanks will contact you in the next few days.
  3. Could perhaps also be the browser you use at certain times of the day. Where I live outside Banphai 50km south of Khon Kaen I often have to switch browsers if I am watching a TV series online around 9pm. I try to download tv series ( mainly UK ) to watch in the evening but, this is getting harder and harder with restrictive practices by Youtube and Google. Even Dailymotion is not as easy as before. As others have said if still an issue talk with 3BB.
  4. Probably because children are addicted to sugar / salt / msg at a very very young age. Junk food is convenient. My children had the option or animal or vegetarian or vegan food at the table; one daughter who has children of her own that are vegetarian.
  5. Yes, many of the veggies and fruit in the market are imported and have a high risk of chemicals. SO DO meats and fish. I worked as a consultant in farming here for 10 years and 6 years before that on a bi-monthly basis so I know what gets to eat what. Example, you have a fish pond under a chicken or duck house, the animals are given feed with "additives" or pharmaceutical products for prevention or treatment because they become sick, the animals in the house poo and that goes through the slatted floor in to the fish pond. And so it goes !!! If one is concerned about chemicals take time to look around the market or talk with people about where there is chemical free food. If there is a Sante Asoke shop then go there.
  6. I became vegetarian in 1971 and vegan some years later. There is a twist in that my work was in farming since 1961 and continued to be until I retired a few years ago. I worked overseas in different countries for most of those years, either on farms or as a freelance consultant based in UK. I spent 10 years here as a consultant and it's where I have ended up. Being a vegetarian / vegan was difficult especially when at company dinners but I was never ridiculed. It takes a bit more in thought when making meals and, eating out is still very limited but "hey" Sizzler is out there !
  7. Many thanks. No Bhang Lassi I suppose - joking !
  8. No mention of good plain vegetables and fruit. Admittedly much of it comes from China unfortunately.
  9. Rubby Murry or the new Quinns in Khon Kaen.
  10. If the new location is that far out i guess it will mean buying an "Away-A-Day" ticket for train and bus. Or a train ride and a long songtel country outing.
  11. I suppose you would say "Do they have vegan or food ?"
  12. Just had my second vaccination in Khon Kaen, first was Sino then 3 weeks later i.e. today had Astra, all free of charge in a very well organised and helpful do at Central Khon Kaen. Documentation to prove vaccination.
  13. OP - many thanks to all for the numerous suggestions. I have managed to get 2 separate accounts. I was trying to use my old Loxinfo account names and passwords to save having to try and remember new ones ( at my age the less the more easy ). Managed one with same details, another with part info and a third, my most easy and favourite old Loxinfo account I screwed up and cannot reuse. Now, where's that piece of paper ... ???
  14. OP - not looking for storage just simple email address
  15. OP - as i put in my question about Gmail - " I understand it is not possible to use a Google email address for the required "current email address" for Gmail. " Will try again with single addresses.
  16. My email provider for many many years has been Loxinfo, sadly they will cease operation this year or early next year. For now they provide out of contract date ( e.g. my yearly contract finished end of July ) with no charge until end of this year or early next year. I had 3 separate addresses and used them for business in and out of Thailand and personal contacts. I had a Gmail account in the past but rarely used it and, the required "current email address" was Loxinfo. I understand it is not possible to use a Google email address for the required "current email address" for Gmail. Can anyone recommend another email provider, preferably free, or a way round the Google requirement of a non Google account ?
