  1. I did that with my first will but it was in English and would have needed translation
  2. OP - Did not know that, would be useful for the Thai side, need to find out what is required for Thai bank accounts
  3. OP - Many thanks for your comments. I made my first Will in Thailand many years ago but it was in English only, it was witnessed by two people. Keeping it simple is the hardest part and finding someone local to translate is difficult. Will ( excuse the pun ) give it a try.
  4. My circumstances have changed over the years and, I need to draw up a new Will relating to bank accounts and personal possessions here in Thailand. I own no property ( e.g. house ) here, i.e. I rent. Can any one recommend a solicitor in Khon Kaen. I understand that I have to provide a medical certificate to prove I am of "sound mind", where can I get that from ? ( yes I hear laughter ) I have read that I need to have 2 Thai witnesses when signing the Will, can one of those be a beneficiary ? Thanks in advance for any info given.
  5. I am sure you are aware that liquids of any kind even nose inhalers cannot be sent by post. I send hair products once a year to a daughter in the UK and have to use DHL. ( Its still cheaper than buying in the UK even if some of the items were available. )
  6. OP - Thanks for your comments about 3BB TV package, I have only WiFi with them. I don't have / need / want a TV just use my laptop. I watch about one hour of a downloaded TV series a day, very occasionally 2 hours. I listen to BBC Radio News once in the morning. The BBC news clips on YT are often out of date.
  7. Is it possible to get BBC TV News live ? I dont like SKY News as it offers little new other than the weather every few minutes. When I do try to get SKY it comes up with the picture boxes for ticking where there are traffic lights etc.
  8. I was here during the floods and ended up neck high in water rescuing dogs from my friends house ( my house is less than 100 meters away and the water was only a few centimetres deep at the gate ). One dog I put in a large cement mixing bath and pushed him through almost metre deep water, by the time I got back for the second one ( 20kg ) the water was up to my armpits. My friends two houses were flooded. The last event was more than 50 years ago. The local govt arranged a day for all who needed vaccination, hundreds turned up. Make sue you have a copy of your earlier vaccinations and give them the copy. They have had more "special days" since inc for children. A friends mother paid for a 4th jab 2 / 3 weeks ago at a hospital in Khon Kaen, she tested positive last week. One of her daughters has just tested positive despite 3 jabs,
  9. I live in Banphai south of KK. Had my first 2 shots at Central my third one at local govt office
  10. Does the OP's "Living Will" mean "Do Not Resuscitate" ??? I placed a DNR at all hospitals in Thailand I visit / have visited in the past ( inc. one many years ago in UK ). At my house there is a copy in clear view along with details of any drug allergies which are many and some life threatening. I also carry a copy whenever I go out along with my passport. If I attend a hospital for any reason the hospital has always, as of now, checked my details and confirmed both the DNR / drug allergies. I had a major stroke with complications some years ago and a friend who was with me confirmed my DNR request whilst I was not fully conscious as well as a request not to use certain treatment, namely dialysis. The doctors concerned honoured my request and asked me again once i came too. I recovered far quicker than having dialysis by using detox part of my own treatment.
  11. I'm 50km south of Khon Kaen. Same with the rain and where max temps had been 36C they went down to 18C, The wind is also cold.
  12. Banphai has a library but few, if any books in English. Many years ago I tried donating books related to farming to KKU but they showed no interest so I took them back to the UK. My house in UK housed over 1,000 books collected since the 60s ( many since working in other countries ), but were stolen, so I am looking to let other people read what I have here whilst there is an opportunity. I have only a few books in English here that I am considering putting "on loan only" to the Banphai library for a few months, if they are interested. I am in my 70's and some of the books may seem "a little strange" to the "younger" generation. Anyone interested in the titles please let me know.
  13. OP - I forgot to say I also use 4K Videodownloader as well as ClipGrab
  14. OP - many video files on Dailymotion have subs and I can watch online, it's only when I down load and try to watch them there are no subs on some downloads. My age and simple mind has meant I never got to grips with using torrents. I live outside a small town so will have to try and find someone to teach me. Many thanks for your hints
  15. Thanks for the info. I can watch the video with subs online but cannot - on some videos - when I download and save. I have never understood about downloading 2 files ( video file and sub file ) I use VLC and have Windows Media Player. The latter I use together with VLC when exercising and want a particular background music. Will give WMP a try on a movie with subs file>
  16. OP - I don't have / want a TV and do not have a video player
  17. OP - I have a laptop with Windows. For downloading I use VLC MediaPlayer or ClipGrab. Less and less on Youtube as they have less and less available much of what I download is from Dailymotion. In the past I used Putlocker but haven't used for some years now.
  18. OP - actually I don't have or want a TV. I view only 1 - 2 hours max per day and use my laptop to view.
  19. I am not computer savvy but can search and download International TV series from the likes of Youtube ( when allowed !!! ) and Dailymotion. Sometimes when I view online the episodes have subs in English but when I download the episodes there are no subs. I try different browsers but its the same problem. Could anyone please explain in simple terms why this happens ? Also what is the easiest program to add subs separately ?
  20. Yes, green drops work well for me too. Can also put a drop on your mask to refresh breathing,
  21. I have one in the carport near to a cement roof support pillar. I had a stroke some years ago and found this leg stand useful in recovery. You can either do a step-up ( beware it doesn't tip to the side ), or, stand straight as possible on it holding the cement pillar, you can pull yourself up and closer to the pillar, you can also hold the pillar more lower and lean backwards slightly. It's tough at first but helps maintain good posture which benefits many parts of the body. I'm in my 70's and use most days.
  22. High body electric can respond to weather, I also used to get it when sandstorms were approaching when I was working in Saudi, Kuwait and any desert conditions. I have shorted out car battery when touching car during sandstorm. Likewise with rain storms and lightening. I can't wear clothes other than cotton due to body electric, perhaps the original OP could consider wearing cotton clothes. I can't touch a persons hand when standing on a carpet, my daughters and I had this problem.
  23. Florescent lighting can affect vision ( the flickering you don't see with your eyes but your mind does. ) I used to get extreme migraines and used a self injector pen ( can't remember name Epipen ? worked quick ). Did a lot of flying and sometimes had to use on plane or at airport medical centre. For some unknown reason my migraines stopped having had them for about 40 years, now mid 70s. One injection by doctor emergency call out at 2am in England worked well but some 6 hours later had body seizure whilst driving car. Good luck in finding something that works for you.
  24. Here are some of the best ways to kill and repel ants naturally using ingredients found in the home or at a local store. Diatomaceous earth (silicon dioxide) ... 25. "Occupied" tv series ( 2015 ) from Norway available on Dailymotion
