In my opinion Siam Pharmacy at Ploenchit is possibly the best pharmacy in the country. Very busy place, they have just about everything, and I believe their prices are a bit lower then any other pharmacy.

What has happened to the long time girlfriend experience?
bkk6060 replied to thesetat's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Money. 3 or 4 ST much more money then LT. Also, from both standpoint why go LT and hunt and peck or use Google translate to communicate? Plus, after a day or 2 both seem to be bored. On this, many of the attractive girls have been everywhere even out of the country. Going to Koh Samet for the 10th time just ain't excting. -
What is wrong with Thai women (on dating websites) in 2024
bkk6060 replied to StayinThailand2much's topic in General Topics
It has changed over the past 10 years I think. Many more just ST. Also, many of these girls can make 50 k a month easy. And, a lot have other jobs they are getting paid. Why go with some guy for a relationship with a lousy pension or little money who will pay her a lot less. They have freedom and are making good money it is preferred. -
It is peak season the flight fares seem to be at least 1000 b higher each way. If you wait until closer to flight date, much higher. Bangkok hotels for a 4 star are about 30% or more higher. Other places in the country seem higher. Add, with holiday after holiday after holiday, this place is in debt big time. I met a Thai female last week. She dropped her purse and honest to God 9 or 10 credit cards fell to the floor. Needless to say I blocked her. Crazy no self awareness or accountability of their debts.

Thailand’s tourism operators question 40 million visitors target
bkk6060 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
One of the more false observations of Pattaya currently. If shops are closing, 2 more are opening. Many areas are jammed, traffic worse then ever. Walking street, new bar areas, new restaurants and shops everywhere. Beach Road most afternoons is like a parking lot cars backed up. Jomtien is crowded. Busier then before Covid. https://www.travelweekly-asia.com/Destination-Travel/The-worlds-most-overcrowded-tourist-destinationsĹ It is 2 in all of Asia for overcrowded. -
There is too much WWMS here. Weak Western Male Syndrome. They let the female control their lives. Brag about their wife or GF handling all the finances or any problems that arise in life. All seems very weak and naive. Any man who has been cleaned out here, or is fearful of this happening look in the mirror. A real man who is smart, knows what's going on, is the boss, and stands up for themselves would never let that happen.

Interesting my experience is Expats mostly have no wills. Buying condos and cars several bank accounts with no plans when they pass. They actually think their embassy will take care of things. Best to have 2 I believe and I had mine drawn up by a reputable lawyer in both places.

Retirement visa agent recommendations
bkk6060 replied to ME100's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Scuba has the best recommendation for an agent in my opinion. They can do just about anything very nice and helpful. The boss lady is awesome there, but if you make a problem and raise your voice, she will put you in your place. So, don't do that:) -
Foreign man arrested for sexually harassing teenage Thai girl
bkk6060 replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
If he is American he could be looking at 15 years Federal time for illicit activity in a foreign country. Either way, if all true he must be a tool and should be deported. -
Exempt 6 by air in a year they will flag you in the system and tell you to get a Visa in the future.

Government to follow up nearly 6,000 complaints about 4am closing times
bkk6060 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
If people want to sleep get a hotel far away from restaurants or bars. Difficult to do in these major tourist spots. -
The guys in the bars on Soi 6 are owners or security or possibly cheap charlies. Girls would never pass up a chance for lady drinks or go upstairs. Otherwise, your comments and complaints seem finicky.

Good stand off Sukhumvit 60 b same as 2nd road. Seems a waste to make yourself. Go to the market and buy all those ingredients all that time, energy, labor and expense for a $1.60 sandwich that doesn't taste the same.

Thai baht predicted to appreciate amid expected US interest rate cuts

I doubt they will cut in March. -
Was on the road last week. Sorry, the drivers here are insane. Tailgating at 120 right on bumpers of other vehicles. Car after car. So uneducated and reckless. Ignorance and non caring. Disgusting really I wonder sometimes how much they value life.

Move Forward leader calls budget bill a major disappointment

Same same forever. -
I can name dozens of places in Pattaya and Bangkok that do short and longer term Airbnb. Places like The Base and The Edge in Pattaya are very popular. There has been no broad crackdown and I bet there never will be. I think it could be a money maker. I know a couple of places in Bangkok off the Skytrain they get 25 to 30 k a month. At that rate they will be paid off in about 10 years. All about location, but yes I think it could be a hassle managing it. One good thing about Abnb is they rate the guests so you can weed out the losers.
