I am in CM now the weather has been nice. I disagree about the general infrastructure the super highways and other roadways are fairly easy to get around. Crowded/traffic? It is not a small town of course, CM is the 2nd biggest city in Thailand. And, the old city and surrounding areas can never get better unless they take down the historical elements for infrastructure, which will never happen. But, if you think it is bad now just wait it is a favorite of Chinese. They will pack the place next year will be lucky to drive anywhere the old city roadways at some point could be at a stand still.

Loud music, crowded, hip hop, drugs?, freelancers. If a person likes that and fake people raising and clinging glasses of hyper expensive booze. then go for it. All seems like a fake Metaverse game to me.

They do have some nice hotels here. The price to quality ratio has been the best in Asia in my opinion. Prices are up now though, especially in Bangkok. One of the top hotels the JW Marriott is usually around 4000 b a night. The other day it showed 15,000 b a night and that was on the Marriott website. Anyway, I don't disagree with the awards the quality and service in Thailand generally seem pretty good.
