  1. Ain't that the truth and no 'beef cake' snarky comments either.
  2. I know of one Moderator who would dispute you on this. He told me it is the same onerous task every year.
  3. WOW! This is just one of the videos. I think there are 3.
  4. Me too. After them electing the leaders they've -ucked up with in Germany, you'd think they'd keep their opinions to themselves. It's not our business to become involved in Thai politics and/or protest.
  5. Doc, I have enough funds. I just choose to do it myself. You do you, I'll do me.
  6. Do not plan driving the last 75k into Yasothon at night nor any of the road from Yasothon to Mukdahan at night. They are extremely treacherous in the dark. (I've done it before in 2018. It's better than before, but we (my son driving) didn't quite make it before the sun went down getting into Yasothon Monday night. He quit on me after the experience. ???????? (I was a little frazzled, too, riding shotgun.)
  7. Yes, the one year multi is available. I returned home yesterday from obtaining mine on Tuesday. I have plans to write a trip report, but need a day or two to recover. I drive to and from Pathum Thani. It's a 'ruff' trip, especially from Saraburi to BKK after a long previous 5-6 hours. (I spend the night in Yasothon and drive back from there). What you will need is in ubonjoe's message below (and that's all I gave them). The cost is 5k baht. FROM ubonjoe: There have been reports of Savannakhet issuing multiple entry non-o visas. Requirements are here. https://savannakhet.thaiembassy.org/th/publicservice/non-immigrant-visa-o-visiting-family-member-of-a-thai-nationality-a-sp?page=5d84a44c15e39c26b400453e&menu=5d84a44c15e39c26b400453f
  8. It would be nice to know what "nice lady"s job is or title is at the amphur. I'm sure you didn't walk up to the first lady you saw there and asked her for an affidavit.
  9. Yes, but what month was it taken. The other photo is comparing August then against now.
  10. And how well the Irrigation and Dam control people do their jobs. They were sleeping on 2011 (or more to the point, to busy buttering up to the new government) and let the reservoir get too full before trying to lower the level in September and early October. They were then hit with 3 or 4 back to back Typhons that came across Vietnam, then Laos or Cambodia, and that was that. There was no place for the water to go.
  11. Well, that poster disappeared... either scared, confused or satisfied.
  12. I don't call it swampy and since you were here 32 years ago I think you're not well qualified to comment. I've been here straight through for 25 years. If you want to believe its called swampy because of former PM Thaksin that's you prerogative.
  13. Great, good to know. I didn't need a snarky reply. I'm glad you've found someone. I asked the question, because of a heavy set man who flew into Thailand a few years ago and had to have the flight attendant wipe is butt after a bowel movement; whereupon he sighed & groaned 'sexually' while they helped him. I was purely trying to sort things out before trying to help. Enjoy your stay.
  14. Will the person need to speak English? Honest question... Will you want more than "help me in the shower" and get dressed? I know a lady who 'might' be available. She can do the things you listed. Beyond that I do not think she will be interest. (Damn good worker). She is from Myanmar.
  15. I bought a 2nd hand computer at JM505 Computers 3 years ago. Not at all expensive (5k). It's still working good. They are located up a small Soi... Ramkhamkeng Rd, Soi 56, Bang Kapi area of Bangkok.
  16. @The Hammer2021 The nickname has nothing to do with former PM Thaksin. It's called Swampy by some because it was built on swamp land. There is a very long history to the airport actually getting built. (You've been in Thailand how long??)
  17. I sent an EMS last week to US. Posted afternoon 16 Aug. Processed thru Suvarnabhumi 17 Aug, 1:36 pm. Processed at ISC Chicago 21 Aug, 11:40 am. Inbound Out of customs 23 Aug. ETC. EMS, still not delivered, but... on it way. Posted a 1st class document Tuesday, 23 Aug 11:42, Processed thru Suvarnabhumi 24 Aug, 12:36 pm. ...... I don't use the Thai post to track when I send to US. I use https://tools.usps.com/go/TrackConfirmAction_input
  18. I know your feeling and thoughts... But, on yards sales, it's just not done. I like some of the suggestions. I might look into the second hand 'markets' around Lat Sawai and Lam Luk Ka to rid me of my stuff.
  19. This is the typical, usual school bus type employed in Thailand. They may not even have the name of the school on the bus, but rather the name of the contract company. For many schools it's a much older vehicle.
  20. No they'll wait until the intersections are blocked all over downtown Bangkok and the Thaksin bullies shoot-up the South. Or they decide to reduce the fertilizer needed for crops because some economic forum idiot told them it would be okay (as in Sri Lanka) or the Netherlands are planning to do.
  21. I hope not. They are not good for Thailand.
