I think it is only fair that, IF there is another debate, that Team Trump get to choose the rules and venue. So, have the debate in Las Vegas in the Allegiant Stadium in front of 50,000 fans. Moderators are Dana Loesch and Michael Knowles. No podiums, just a stage to walk on. Two hour limit, bring your own microphone. Only fair.

Ah, yet more of the veiled Nazi references. Charming. Especially when used against a man with Jews in his family. Nothing but class, YouAgain. Nothing but class. BTW, if you are going to try and use German words as an insult, at least take the time to look them up and spell them correctly. Thanks. -
Who will replace Joe Biden as the Democratic Presidential candidate?
Hanaguma replied to connda's topic in Political Soapbox
Man, that split-screen that CNN used really killed Biden. I guess they were hoping to catch Trump doing some hysterics, shouting into a muted microphone, etc. Instead, they got Biden staring rigidly into space, mouth agape. I was impressed by Trump's discipline. If he keeps it up, he will win for sure. It was apparent that Biden's strategy was to needle Trump, but it didn't work. -

Who will replace Joe Biden as the Democratic Presidential candidate?

I like it when she has the guys from the Fifth Column podcast on. Their show is good too, although only once a week. -
IMHO the gaslighting about Biden's condition over the past year or so will really haunt both the Democratic Party and the media (but I repeat myself). Even up to last week they were peddling this nonsense about "cheap fakes" and denying reality. Like I have said before- they knew. They have known for a long time that Biden was slipping. And they not only hid it from the American people, they actively lied about it, and they tried to shame/silence anyone who mentioned it. I think this explains the panic after the debate. The first reaction was "Joe's gotta go", and you saw it for about 24 hours. Editorials, reactions on tv, blogs, interviews. Endless speculation about who can/should replace him. Then the reality set in that the only way to get rid of Joe is to convince him to voluntarily leave. Which won't happen. So the narrative shifted 180 degrees. Now it was "just one bad night" and "I'm old but at least I tell the truth" and "let's win this thing with the guy that got us here". It is so fake and peurile. The damage to the Democratic brand is done.

Again ironically in the debate it was BIDEN who was name calling and being childish, even Trump had to call him on it. Gold Star families aren't crazy about Biden either, considering he FORGET that they even exist in the debate. For better or worse, the Trump years pre-Covid were pretty good. You can argue about why and all that, but the bottom line is that people will remember them. They will remember when gas was 2 bucks and their mortgage rate was 3%. And that will sink Biden. Because he has nothing to run on that anyone will believe. That is why the Democrats are reverting to their old playbook of "RUSSIA RUSSIA RUSSIA" and "OH OUR DEMOCRACY" and other tired shibboleths. It won't work.

Who appeared mean? It was Biden who did most of the personal attacks. Trump was remarkably restrained. Biden didnt engage in Trumps lies because he couldnt. He was not capable of thinking quickly or speaking extemporaneously. He was lost in a fog of prepared and canned soundbites. Even then he mixed them up. Just admit it, Biden performed very poorly and showed a rather shocking deterioration in mental agility and temperament.

Trump wont spend one night in prison. Even IF the judge sentences him, the sentence will be appealed immediately. There will be a superior court/appeals court judge on standby to stay the sentence pending hearing the appeal. Trump will walk out of the courthouse the same day regardless. Biden isnt backing down, partly out of pride. Partly because his wife loves being First Lady. Partly because there would be chaos if he stepped down- who gets top slot? Kamala? A guaranteed election defeat. Anyone else, especially a white man, and the party will burst into intercine conflict.

Clinton wasnt impeached for lying. He was impeached for suborning perjury. All politicians lie. It is in their nature. Trump is also a fabulist, a world class BS artist. It is part of being from New York. And ol' Joe wasn't exactly telling the truth either- no American soldiers killed this century, sorry this decade, sorry in my presidency.... The point is that Biden was incapable of noticing. He stood with his mouth open and a rictus look, rarely blinking. The split screen absolutely killed him.

Me too. Megyn is a guilty pleasure but I wish she would STFU sometimes and let her guests talk. -

You been listening to Charlie Kirk again? What a disaster that would be. Jill running, I mean. -
It is a debate. A contact sport. If Trump lies, it is up to Biden to call him out and refute him, not the moderators. And Biden was incapable. Ironically, it ws Biden who was being childish and infantile, calling names and making personal attacks. And it was Trump who had to ask, "let's not act like children". Joe is done.

Yeah. Joe had a cold. A cold that kept him from being able to complete sentences. Or think. Or pronounce words. Or make sense. Like how illegal immigration is caused by abortions done because brothers and sisters rape their daughters or something like that. Just be honest. Joe is in decline. It wasn't the moderators, or his 'cold' which nobody talked about until he was tanking in the debate, or the time of day, or over preparation. It was cognitive decline.

Well, that is because the IDF is being remarkablly restrained in how it conducts operations. Given the firepower available, they could have turned Gaza into a parking lot in 48 hours. But they chose to be humanitarian and sensitive and do all they can to avoid civilian casualties. Remember, the war would end tomorrow if Hamas surrendered and returned the hostages. As for Hezbollah, nothing would be better than seeing the IDF and the USN stomp a mudhole through them.

The media bias has never been so obvious as in the last month. Remember the Trump conviction? The talking heads at CNN etc could barely control their giggles and glee. Speculating about prison time, almost high fiving each other. Then look at the post-debate panels. Almost funereal. Downcast, almost in tears, maundering speculation. And we are supposed to trust these people?
-
This is something that needs to be repeated. The media and the Democrats KNEW that Biden was ailing, and has been since the 2020 election. Yet they continued to gaslight the public, tell lies about his condition, and endangered the country. How many talking heads did you hear saying things like, "wow, I can't believe Biden's energy, I can barely keep up!" and "if you saw him behind the scenes at the White House, he was spending hours discussing policy and was razor sharp". They were ALL lying. It is a huge story and people need to be fired.

Biden Discussing Future with Family at Camp David
Hanaguma replied to Social Media's topic in World News
True. If you look around Biden, you see a LOT of Obama's people. They were all on the media after the debate sounding out the idea of replacing Joe. If you look behind Biden there is definitely a Barack-shaped shadow. Perhaps Michelle shaped? One big problem with trying to swap out Michelle for Biden is that she really, really doesn't like the Bidens. For all I did not agree with Obama and many of his decisions, he and his family were scrupulously clean of any hint of wrongdoing or financial shenanigans. Michelle sees the Bidens as grifters. Perhaps an appeal to her patriotism might do the trick, but I think her default position is to stay on the sidelines. It will take a combined Clinton/Obama/Pelosi effort to convince Jill Biden to convince Joe to step down. Then you are left with the Kamala problem...you think SHE wants to be VP again? -
Trump was smart to delay announcing a VP.
Hanaguma replied to Cryingdick's topic in Political Soapbox
Agreed. It is smart to leave the media attention on the disarray and panic among Democrats. Classic case of not interrupting your opponent when they are screwing up. Definitely shows Trump maturing as a politician and starting to take advice. Just like the debate, where Biden was the one who seemed petulant and was always making personal comments about Trump. -

More like, they all sat down and realized that it is near impossible to jettison Joe if he doesn't want to go. That is why the narrative has changed so dramatically in 48 hours. Just after the debate was "wow, maybe we need someone new...." and now suddenly it is "just a bad day, we have confidence". Plus they all saw the looming elephant in the room in the form of Kamala Harris. Either giving her the top slot or trying to remove her are both guarantees to lose the election. Perhaps better to stay with Slim Chance Joe, because slim is at least better than none.
