Kamala Harris trolls Trump as he backs out of debate
Hanaguma replied to shdmn's topic in Political Soapbox
Nice non answer. They had no agreed on debate. -
You can play semantics and word games all you want, but the fact is that Biden put her in charge of the border. Here is his actual speech from March 24, 2021 when he did so; I’ve asked her, the VP, today — because she’s the most qualified person to do it — to lead our efforts with Mexico and the Northern Triangle and the countries that help — are going to need help in stemming the movement of so many folks, stemming the migration to our southern border. and she’s leading the effort because I think the best thing to do is to put someone who, when he or she speaks, they don’t have to wonder about is that where the President is. When she speaks, she speaks for me. Doesn’t have to check with me. So yeah, maybe he didnt speak the magical words Border Czar, but that is irrelevant. She was in charge, with full Presidential authority and power, and blew it.

I know, I just dont understand the logic. He debated Clinton, Biden, Cruz.... what on earth makes anyone think he would be scared of an intellectual lightweight like Kamala? Complete withful thinking. Who has Kamala debated? -

So, in other words, you've got nothing. Well, nothing except the usual tiny fisted personal attacks. No way to back up your words with anything but more hot air. -

The difference? Biden was the President and the defacto nominee at that point. There were no challengers. So the two sides worked out the details. Harris is still the uncoronated one. If she wants to debate Trump, she can make a proposal of her own- not just try to piggyback on Biden. I am sure Trump would be happy to oblige. -

Trump DID control himself in the debate, didn't you watch it? Your unhinged personal attacks only show that you have very little of value to add to the conversation. Still waiting for your evidence of Kamala's debating acumen or extemporaneous speaking skill... -
She barely squeaked by in the election of 2010, drastically underperformed in a very blue state. Ten percent lower than the previous election cycle. She was a mediocre candidate who was dragged across the finish line by her 'close friend' Willie Brown.

Reallly? Because that is EXACTLY what Trump did in his historic debate with Biden. He adapted to the format, learned how to control himself, and let Biden twist in the wind. Please tell me any time that Kamala has 'creamed' anyone in a debate. I'll wait... -
True. But Kamala did not attend law school at Howard University. She did her undergrad there, then law school back in California at UC, the #82 ranked law school in America.

Senate hearings are a joke. They are all grandstanding, publicity and no action. Senators making prepared statements and pontificating. Witnesses cannot fight back or question the senators. I believe they are also limited to 5 minutes per senator. Come on, you can do better than that. Any debate, any interview with a journalist who wasn't giving her a tongue bath, anything. -

I'm sure he is. Fearing facing the woman who got taken behind the woodshed by Tulsi Gabbard. Can you point out any occasion where Kamala has debated and put in a strong performance, strong enough to cause fear? Cause I can't. She hasn't been in a contested election since 2010. -
You said "Howard is a great school". It's not. Now you are shifting the goalposts, saying it is above average. And that UC Hasings is middling as well. Wharton School of Business is perhaps the best in the world, certainly the best in America. Similar, JD Vance went to Yale Law School, again the best in America. So don't loose too much energy defending Kamala's academic pedigree.

I am honestly curious where you get any evidence that Kamala is so smart and intelligent, and to the point a good debater. I just don't see it. She was less than impressive in the 2020 Democratic primary debates. OTOH, Trump has been through several debate cycles, taken on everyone from Biden to Ted Cruz to Rubio to Hillary Clinton. A lady whose brainpower and accomplishments far exceed Kamala's. So what is there for him to fear? -
Howard U. is average. Not even a top 100 ranked university. Her law school is #82 in the country. So not exactly a stunning educational pedigree.

Riots by bidens/ harris new vision for America

Yes, the odds ARE changing. In Vegas, it used to be 66-30 in favour of Trump over Biden. Now it's 64-33 in favour of Trump over Harris. Big changes indeed. -
I have yet to hear anyone give an example of Kamala's debating prowess or verbal acumen. Trump has far more experience and also has debated against far tougher opponents. So, other than being firmly deranged by blind hatred of the man, I honestly cannot see any evidence to back up the idea that Kamala is so much better equipped.
-
Exactly. Just like she wiped the floor with..... trying to think of a debate that Harris was in where she performed that way. I'm drawing a blank. Can you help? Trump did well against Hillary Clinton, who is smarter, more politically skilled, and more experienced than Harris. What makes you think Harris would do better? I see no evidence of her being intellectually agile at all.

With respect, I don't think you know what you are talking about. Look back at the 2022 senate race in Ohio and watch Vance in the debates with his opponent. He beat an incumbent Democrat senator in a bad year for the GOP. You may not agree with his political positions but don't pretend to know anything else.

Pew Research shows college educated voters are 56-43 for the Democrats. But men and white folks, generally, vote GOP. So "educated white males" includes 2 categories that vote GOP. White men were 60-38 for the GOP. I don't know where you are getting your information. Ditto for women. In 2022, women voted 51-48, and in 2020 55-44 for the Democrats. You number is rather optimistic. Kamala will have a tough time resurrecting the Obama coalition.

Uh, that was a debate with a different candidate, who is no longer in the running. I know Kamala is eager to get Joe's money, but she can't get his personal appointments too. Hell, she isn't even the official nominee of her party yet. I am sure she is woman enough to negotiate her own terms with Team Trump, once she is officially The Anointed One.- 166 replies

So far, the oddsmakers think she will lose. If her 2020 campaign is anything to go by, she will have a big fanfare at the beginning and fizzle out rather quickly. For most voters, to know her is to not like her. TBH, the GOP is breathing a big sigh of relief. Biden would have been the easiest to beat, but Kamala is a close second. They can hand Biden's failures around her neck. A new face at the top of the Democratic ticket would have been a much more difficult opponent.

Riots by bidens/ harris new vision for America
Hanaguma replied to riclag's topic in Political Soapbox
Well, a big problem for Democrats is that a lot of Americans kind of like the old vision for America. They will look at the Trump years vs. the Biden years and conclude that the former were better. Lower inflation, lower costs for basic goods, much lower housing and mortgage costs, etc. The esoteric issues like American position in the world and so on will not matter so much.
