  1. Absolutely. It will be his decision. The alternative is to move to the UK, emigrate to another country that makes this possible/easy, or remain on Extensions of Stay here in Thailand.
  2. According to Thai Citizenship Facebook group, there is a path to Thai citizenship for someone born here (to foreign parents) and who has been entirely educated here to university level (see below). No idea how easy it is and my son is only 10 now. But it is something I will look into for the future - assuming he decides he wants to remain in Thailand and be Thai! To to answer your question: anyone born on Thai soil who graduates from Thai university can apply to have their status changed to Thai. The video picks up the topic at the 56-minute mark https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1EFgDyj18e/?
  3. As a Labour voter, I'm hugely disappointed by Starmer's leadership and the government in general...so far. Particularly his pandering to Reform which will prove very counter-productive. I can't see him resigning though, and it's fanciful to think there will be another election before 2029. A lot can happen, and will.
  4. They're everywhere here in the Rayong countryside.
  5. If you read the article, the "confusion" is about sidecars.
  6. Thanks. Yes, I've been looking into it and I'm hoping it will be possible in the future. He's attended a Thai/English programme school since he was 6 and, although his first language is still English, he is completely fluent in Thai (speaking, reading and writing). He's only 10 now, but I've been told it might be possible once he gets to university age.
  7. There's nothing illegal about customers hooking up with a lady in a bar.
  8. Yes, sorry about that! Having problems 'submitting'!
  9. Thanks. Correct. People should really read the entire thread before commenting!
  10. Local prostitution, if conducted "non-promiscuously" (i.e. discreetly) is regulated under various pieces of legislation, so operates within the law. This article is about arresting prostitutes for openly and "promiscuously", soliciting their services, which is illegal for both Thais and foreigners.
  11. I have been told (on another Forum) that 90-day reports are treated differently to overstaying and kids can be fined. Hence, my query here as I thought it unlikely, as do most of those who have commented. I'll find out in a month or so!
  12. He's not eligible. (Thanks @DrJack54)
  13. Why not just increase the standing fare and the mileage rate, so that taxi drivers can earn more money? Bangkok taxis are ridiculously cheap. Why not just increase the standing fare and the mileage rate, so that taxi drivers can earn more money? 14. Thank goodness for that (for the moment anyway). Hopefully, unlike during the pandemic, education will be prioritised and not scaremongering and panic measures.
  15. I regularly transfer money from my UK Lloyds account to my Bangkok Bank online, and it usually goes through in 2 working days.
  16. That's really helpful thanks. Hopefully Rayong have the same view!
  17. Not at all for me, although it's a big chunk of his pocket money!! I'm just enquiring whether children can be fined for not doing 90-day reports.
  18. Ordinary tourists do not need a bank account. Can tourists open bank accounts in other countries? I'm sure they couldn't in the UK.
  19. My 10-year-old son (UK passport holder) was born in Thailand and has lived here all his life. He has an annual Extension as my dependent. He has never done a 90-day report and this has never been an issue when getting a new extension each year. I want to switch his reason for staying from my dependent to his own Education extension (he goes to a Thai school), and in order to prevent any potential issues, I think it would be better for him start doing 90-day reports (Rayong Immigration). If apply for him online, I expect it will be rejected, as it's his first ever report. Not a problem, I'll take him to Immigration to do it in person. But will "he" be fined for not having done one before; or as he is a child, will the fine be waived?
  20. If you're vaxxed you should be fine and even if you get it, it will be mild.
  21. Call the police. Corporal punishment has been made "illegal" in Thailand. Good luck!
  22. Well, yes! I've been a Bangkok Bank account holder for 20 years and have never had any issues.
  23. It only affects "tourists", not people who are living here.
