  1. I wonder why? Hua Hin has a population of around 65,000 and Pattaya's is around 330,000!
  2. The flight out/departure doesn't have to be completed.
  3. Strange isn't it? A story about Pattaya in the 'Pattaya News' section! 🤔
  4. This has been covered in another thread. I'll try to find the link, unless someone else can find it more quickly. If I remember rightly there was an explanation from the company. I am a policy holder and my broker queried this with them at the time of my renewal, to both of our satisfaction.
  5. He's not going to be fired, nor should he be. The BBC's policies about what presenters can and cannot do was agreed after the last 'outcry' about his excellent tweets.
  6. Here we go again... 😒😷 Soon they'll be closing schools again. It was a nonsense back in 2020 and would be now.
  7. Would love to send my son there as it is local. But the fees are prohibitively high!
  8. That, I can understand! But if that was the only reason there are far worse examples.
  9. Trump can't pardon him for his State conviction. If he's pardoned federally he'll be transferred to Minnesota to serve his 23 year conviction.
  10. Yeah, it wasn't so bad. I just wish the queue ,management was better.
  11. Hopefully the rain holds off and it's a fun, happy day, full of love, for all involved.
  12. I arrived at peak time on 1 May. It took well over 30 minutes to get through.
  13. Why do the Telegraph and Mail have such a thing for Gary? Just because he's a liberal or because he played for Spurs?
  14. It is technically illegal, but also standard practice. I've been teaching here for 20+ years and every school I've worked for has expected new teachers to start work while their work permit is being arranged.
  15. Fortunately Thailand is moving on. My son's school has just informed us that scout uniforms are no longer compulsory, just a scarf/toggle. No required haircuts either. It's progress.
  16. Er, perhaps you could do with some help from an English teacher!
  17. Has a booster been recommended (I had two shots plus a booster during the pandemic)? If not, I'll not bother.
  18. Those with a wife already in the country and on the path to ILR and citizenship will hopefully continue on the same pathway? Raising the level of English required will make it much more difficult for Brits to get settlement for their Thai partner, as many Thais struggle to pass the current A1 level test.
  19. My wife is not Thai, but I met her in Paris.
  20. I work with westerners so talk with them every day.
  21. Yes. Much easier to do if you're in the UK.
