  1. Completing the TDAC is not optional. It has to be completed at some time within 3 days before arrival at the Passport Control desk at the airport/land border in Thailand.
  2. I just completed this quiz. My Score 20/100 My Time 69 seconds
  3. Fair points. However I do think that the reaction to children using social media and smartphones shows features of a moral panic — especially when the debate is driven more by fear than facts, and when there's too much of a focus on blaming the technology, rather than considering broader social or developmental issues. Ideally it should lead to the chance to have a meaningful, informed conversation about how to help kids use technology safely and wisely.
  4. Reminds me of studying Sociology at university in the 1980s. Moral Panics and Folk Devils (Stanley Cohen). Smart phones and social media are just the latest 'panics'.
  5. Well to a certain extent, she is right. It's normal.
  6. Most Asians in Thailand are hopefully vaccinated and boosted. None. Just my own eyes.
  7. 6 and 4 is pretty young, but yes it seems to be the norm these days, and not just in Thailand. People thought kids from my generation were addicted to watching TV. Later generations of kids were addicted to computer games. I wouldn't worry, the current generation will cope.
  8. Why wouldn't they be able to check in? The digital 'Arrival' card can be completed on arrival in Thailand!
  9. Correct. My Immigration office (Rayong) doesn't appear to require a new TM30 when returning from overseas.
  10. How does that explain Thais wearing masks in areas where there are no 'farangs' and why is mask wearing common throughout Asia?
  11. Who's saying you shouldn't? If I were elderly or had underlying health issues, I would too. Not just because of Covid either.
  12. Yes. The form can only be completed 3 days before entry, not before then. It can then be completed at any time during that period, including in the Arrivals hall at Bangkok airport!
  13. Why not? Even in an emergency it shouldn't be a problem completing the form while waiting for the flight? It takes less than 5 minutes to fill in the information! It's just a digital TM6!
  14. Update: Some serious backtracking going on! "Chairman of the House Committee on Military Affairs Wiroj Lakkhanaadisorn (People's Party) said on Friday the Third Army Region may not have been careful in lodging a lese majeste complaint with police which led to the arrest and brief detention of American scholar Paul Chambers earlier this week. He said the matter may affect bilateral ties with an important nation that has a huge trade relations with Thailand at a critical junction when it's not even apparent what alleged royal insult Chambers had committed. The committee is thus summoning generals from the Third Army Region to clarify to the committee on April 24." (Khaosod)
  15. I think it's supposed to be for statistics, just as the previous TM6 was. It's the same thing, just digitised. It doesn't track 'movements' just arrival information.
  16. Is it religious? Some people might go the temple, but it's not one of the Buddhist holidays. More of a cultural festival with religious influences, especially from Buddhism, but not a purely religious event.
  17. Yes. Seems like Laos are going to do the same. No doubt it will be standard in many countries soon. Better than paper card and pens, surely?
  18. Use your Re-entry Permit number, like you did with the TM6 card.
  19. I'm sure I remember reading that he is pre-diabetic and (obviously) obese.
  20. I should hope not! But the thread is about "dating" sex workers/bargirls.
  21. Making an assumption based on the TM6 form. What else can you do if you don't know the address where you're staying?
  22. As has already been mentioned, you can fill it in at the airport in Bangkok after you've arrived if you have to, just like the TM6 form.
