Same with me .No problem with lockdown. I hear from my friend in Australia that their has been extended until next year on their lockdown. A long lockdown is better then having a lockdown 6 foot under.
Then wait until the world economy collapses.

I expect xenophobia to keep on rising with diminishing Thais’ dependency on tourist money. And it was always about money, no illusions here.

I don't look down on anyone except users, cheaters, those who rape the earth for profit, child molesters, animal abusers and crooked people in power. Do you know why women get into prostitution? Yes, it's for money, and a lot of it they don't receive. Some have been raped by fathers or boyfriends. A lot are forced into it by traffickers. Contributing to this is affecting the lives of others. It's illegal for one thing, and I won't repeat the immorality of it. Yes, some women just like sex, and something in their pasts led them to this lifestyle. Boredom from a mental illness maybe. But a lot are forced. There are other jobs.
Who are those traffickers in Thailand? The bus company the girls use to get from Isaan to Pattaya? I cannot think of anybody else.

Because those Thai men don't consider foreigners to be the human beings. Just some weird creatures paying a lot of money for something they themselves get absolutely free. And no reason to be jealous when your GF is spending some time with these walking ATMs. This is the real reason for their tolerance. Surely not because of some buddhist Bs (like they see sex differently than we do). Just read the Thai news : Thai men kill because of jealousy almost every day. But it is only when another Thai (real human being in their eyes) is involved.
The question left is: do the Thai girls see the foreigners the same way as the Thai males?

I don't think it has ever been a big secret that quite a few bars in the popular areas have a dual purpose, cleaning & laundry work just another byproduct so these bars will always open back up, they have probably never made money since the day they opened, the few that made good money & were well run will open back up, those that were surviving week by week most likely won't make it, Ago go very niche market now, whereas years back was more acceptable as there were few other choices.
So whoever opens the bar this year is definitely a criminal.

Those tourist businesses are in state of hysteria at the moment denying the obvious. Give them more time and they will stop eventually deluding themselves and others. No international tourism in 2020. Period.

In a lot of cases the Farang's wife has been married to a Thai before. She has one or several kids.
When the "Sponser" (Husband, BF etc) dies or they separate / divorce the "Wife" moves on and finds a new Sponsor. This is fact seen it many times. Farangs are used as stepping stones by Thai ladies.
Some will live with 2, 3 or more Farangs in their lifetime, accruing wealth as they go along. Just accept the role of the "Sponsor" and enjoy your time with your chosen Lady. If you're not happy pull the plug and find another. Plenty Ladies in Thailand looking for a "Handsome" Sponsor.
So many times on the dating websites the Thai ladies present themselves with the phrase “I need somebody to take care of me”. And the rest ,who don’t use the language like that are just smart enough to hide their true intentions. For absolute most of them farangs are the way to solve their material problems and nothing else.
Again I ask myself - why don’t we hear anything about farangs’ wives demanding from the government to let their husbands back to the country? Looks like this is a personal problem of those husbands only. The situation would change in minutes if the international money transfer would be prohibited for some reason.

Thailand is now "home" for many of these "foreigners". They are not 3 week tourists or casual visitors. Their wives and children are here, and in many cases probably paid for and built their homes here, so I think there should be a "special circumstances" committee set up to consider their cases - they seem to be able to set up a committee for just about everything here!
They have built a home on somebody else's land. Not the brightest idea.

Why don't the wives of those stuck outside Thailand husbands start a petition to their government? Unlike their husbands - they are the rightful citizens of this country, they have a voice. And yet they are totally silent. As if they were quite satisfied with the situation. The money keeps coming but those annoying creatures are kept away.

I'm Polish and Irish and I'm the husband to a Thai. so I must be the exception.
If you are a husband - then why you will not be let back in case you are stuck outside Thailand at the moment? I am not talking about how you perceive yourself. How the Thai society sees you is what matters. And it sees you as a temporary stayer without any particular rights.

Many of those "stranded abroad" are in fact just the temporary sponsors on temporary permits of stay. Remember: only a Thai person can be a husband to a Thai. I know it sounds harsh but this is the way the Thais see the world (including your so called wives). Wait until the borders reopen, get another tourist-like marriage visa and come back to your partner.

Yes, there are the human garbage women who would sleep with anything, especially for money. Look at Donald trump for one instance, but what positives does a Thai woman have with cheating with a Thai man? Possibilities of a disease, some which might kill, including the fact that one out of four adults has herpes. That a Thai man that would go with a married woman, besides taking his life into his hands, well known by this day and age, is 100% likely to leave and not return when he finds another younger, prettier woman. That the majority of them hasn't the resources to take care of any children they might make. Quality time. I have talked to many, many Thai women, both here and back in the US, who stated that the previous boyfriends they've had were terrible lovers, that their foreign boyfriends or husbands were more likely to understand foreplay and last more than 3 minutes. Last but not least, the average penis size here is 4 inches, only exceeding Korea's 3.8, and the Thai women know this.
Thai women love money, but they don’t love for money.

Thai hoteliers provided a service and should be paid in full for that service, I see on this forum many members don't have an issue with what TUI is doing with hoteliers but do have an issue with VFS taking their money and not providing any service
Karma
TUI goes bankrupt in the near future. That is the most probable scenario. From this perspective, do you still think that they SHOULD pay up?

Thailand’s impressive battle against COVID-19 result of decades-long efforts
in Thailand News Headlines

Almost all your photos are with the Thai "hi-so" people. It's easy to stay home indefinitely when you don't have a family to feed.
I think Thailand is shooting itself in the foot with this self-bragging "success" story. While many other countries are slowly getting the herd immunity and learn to co-exist with the virus, Thailand (which is largely a tourism dependent country) has walled itself from the world (and from the virus) without any prospect of the situation changing in the future.
P.S. Just read Spain will allow the UK tourists without any quarantine requirements. Will Thailand dare to do something like that? Not in the near future. The fake success is going to turn into the economic disaster.
