Trump blames Chris Christie for ‘mistake’ of nominating FBI director.
Bkk Brian replied to Social Media's topic in World News
What Trump actually means is that he tried to weaponize the FBI, DOJ and IRS against his political opponents but couldn't pull it off. So instead blames them for his failings. Quite a long list in this article on his many attempts. All the ways Trump, not his foes, sought to ‘weaponize’ the government the picture that is crystal clear is one of Trump, at the very least, wanting to weaponize the government against his foes. “He was always telling me that we need to use the FBI and IRS to go after people,” Kelly told the Times last year, adding that “it was constant and obsessive and is just what he’s claiming is being done to him now.” In addition to Kelly, we have Berman, Barr and Trump’s former national security adviser John Bolton all pointing to Trump’s own sins on this front. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2023/07/10/all-ways-trump-not-his-foes-sought-weaponize-government/ https://archive.ph/Af9J2- 52 replies

Yet Trump, who never served in Congress. In his 2016 and 2020 presidential campaigns, Trump collected just over $3.2 million from the pharmaceutical industry. I wonder why? I also wonder what on earth this has to do with the link I provided of Biden this year recommending boosters yearly which is a national health matter?
-
Of course he's also calling for regular annual boosters, this from just Jan 2023 “For most Americans, one COVID shot each year will be all they need,” Biden said at the White House. “And if you get it, you’ll be protected. And if you don’t, you’re putting yourself and other people at unnecessary risk.” https://www.usnews.com/news/health-news/articles/2023-01-05/biden-has-called-for-annual-covid-19-booster-shots-but-is-that-realistic

Trump criticizes end of White House cocaine probe

Here's my take. Its just wishful thinking to think camera's would pick up every tiny action, bit like a needle in a haystack. This baggie was the size of a dime. No finger prints, no or not enough DNA. There's probably only two possible scenarios. It was either dropped (possibly out of someones pocket) or deliberately placed. Its unthinkable that someone would leave it somewhere only to return to pick it up later. The positive from this is that the security did pick it up in their daily sweep by the secret service. -
Its a shame so many more died in the red states. Covid death rates are higher among Republicans than Democrats, mounting evidence shows Lower vaccination rates among Republicans could explain the partisan gap, but some researchers say mask use and social distancing were bigger factors. The Yale researchers behind the new working paper say vaccine hesitancy among Republicans may be the biggest culprit. "In counties where a large share of the population is getting vaccinated, we see a much smaller gap between Republicans and Democrats," said Jacob Wallace, an author of that study and an assistant professor of health policy at the Yale School of Public Health. https://www.nbcnews.com/health/health-news/covid-death-rates-higher-republicans-democrats-why-rcna50883

Here's a decent graphic of where it was found, just inside the entry in a cubby used by visitors to drop of phones. That area has 100's of people passing each day. https://twitter.com/CBSEveningNews/status/1679630651190829057 -

That's outrageous, does Trump know about this yet? I'm sure he'll be able to spin a few culprits into the frame. -

I'm constantly amazed at Trumps hate and childish name calling spewed out almost daily on his Truth Social posts. Whats more concerning are the lies and conspiracies he promotes. Why have the courts not done something about this. Hopefully this will help. Hunter Biden lawyers tell Trump to end attacks warning they’re ‘one social message away’ from causing violence The letter points to recent examples of Mr Trump’s aggressive statements about Mr Biden, such as a March social media post allegedly implying Mr Biden should get a “death sentence” and July message claiming cocaine found in the White House “was for use by Hunter”. The letter claims such provocations could inspire one of Mr Trump’s “easy-to-trigger followers.” Donald Trump’s lawyers Joe Tacopina declined to comment when contacted by The Independent. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/hunter-biden-trump-letter-defamation-b2375089.html -
The rules allow them to enter, if the rules allow it why should they exclude themselves, there's no need for them to be ashamed if they compete & happen to win? Surely its the officials who make the rules that should make it exclusive to women only. Transgender contestants have been able to compete for the crown since 2012. From the OP link: "Thai businesswoman and advocate Anne Jakrajutatip, who bought the Miss Universe organisation in October 2022, also identifies as transgender." Personally I would prefer if she made a separate pageant for transgenders only.

Actually it wasn't just the Met but also the Welsh Police. The Metropolitan Police and South Wales Police looked at allegations against the BBC presenter and both said there was no information to indicate criminal offences had been committed. https://news.sky.com/story/no-criminal-offence-in-allegations-against-bbc-presenter-says-met-police-12919368

It appears to be going ahead, this from a couple of weeks ago. A ‘Cage Match’ Between Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg May Be No Joke The day after Elon Musk challenged Mark Zuckerberg on social media to “a cage match” this month, Dana White, president of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, received a text. It was from Mr. Zuckerberg, chief executive of Meta. He asked Mr. White, who heads the world’s premier mixed martial arts competition, which is fought in cage-like rings, if Mr. Musk was serious about a fight. Since then, Mr. White said, he has talked to the tech billionaires separately every night to organize the showdown. On Tuesday, he said, he was “on the phone with those two until 12:45 in the morning.” He added, “They both want to do it.” https://www.nytimes.com/2023/07/01/technology/elon-musk-mark-zuckerberg-cage-match.html https://archive.ph/sdiyU

DeSantis is not only crossing the line with his campaign videos but also in his claims on crime in Florida. Nearly half of Florida's population excluded from state crime data To attract Republican primary voters across the country, Gov. Ron DeSantis is pitching himself as a "law-and-order" presidential candidate. His proof: Florida's 50-year crime low. Yes, but: Nearly half of the state's population is excluded from 2021 crime figures estimated by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), according to data provided to Axios by The Marshall Project, a nonprofit newsroom covering criminal justice. Florida's participation rate in the FBI's national data collection is also the lowest of any state in the country. https://www.axios.com/local/tampa-bay/2023/07/12/florida-crime-data-incomplete-fbi-reporting

Nato summit: Allies refuse to give Ukraine timeframe on joining
Bkk Brian replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Nah he needs a better aim, that hammer went straight over his head. If this was about Nato then why did Putin not take up peace talks with Zelensky when he offered to not join? Zelensky: We won’t join NATO if that brings peace Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Tuesday he is prepared to pledge that Ukraine wouldn’t join NATO, in a bid to broker a peace deal with Russia. https://nypost.com/2022/03/22/zelensky-we-wont-join-nato-if-that-brings-peace/ -

Interesting because the actual authors of the report were clear on the conclusions of the Proximal Origin report at the oversight committee meetings and its not the same as the Republicans are claiming. This published from the Washington Post yesterday. GOP probes covid origin paper as authors protest ‘absurd’ allegations Fauci, Collins and the virologists have denied the Republican allegations as baseless and politically motivated, saying they updated their positions as they studied the virus, and two of the paper’s authors defended their work in front of the panel on Tuesday. “Let me categorically say that these allegations are absurd and false,” Kristian Andersen, a Scripps Research scientist and co-author of the paper, testified in prepared remarks. The “conclusions stated in Proximal Origin were based on scientific data and analyses by a team of international scientists with extensive track records in studying virus emergence and evolution,” he said. “None of this work was influenced by Dr. Fauci.” https://www.washingtonpost.com/health/2023/07/11/covid-origins-house-hearing-scientists/ https://archive.ph/k0Iaz
