  1. She's just finished her book, her opinions seem more than ever to confirm her stance as it was before: The Climate Book THE FACTS AND THE SOLUTIONS ABOUT THE CLIMATE BOOK We still have time to change the world. From Greta Thunberg, the world’s leading climate activist, comes the essential handbook for making it happen. You might think it’s an impossible task: secure a safe future for life on Earth, at a scale and speed never seen, against all the odds. There is hope – but only if we listen to the science before it’s too late. In The Climate Book, Greta Thunberg has gathered the wisdom of over one hundred experts – geophysicists, oceanographers and meteorologists; engineers, economists and mathematicians; historians, philosophers and indigenous leaders – to equip us all with the knowledge we need to combat climate disaster. https://www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/709837/the-climate-book-by-greta-thunberg/
  2. I've had one for around 6 years, same never posted, don't even re tweet things, just like posts where necessary so I can then reference them as needed
  3. "the data conclusively shows that there is correlation between Musk’s arrival and a broader perceived acceptability to posted hostile content on Twitter." "Results conclusively showed that there was an immediate spike in Tweets using one or more of the analyzed hate terms in the period leading up to Musk taking over the company." "In sum, the content and tone of Twitter posts became measurably more oriented towards hate speech on the day Elon Musk became CEO of the company with significant reach attained for this hate content." The dangers of such an appeal in radicalizing children and spreading misinformation to an audience still learning key critical thinking skills remain acute.
  4. For those who say (Russian apologists) that its the west pushing Ukrainians till their last death. 86% of Ukrainians say Ukraine should continue repelling Russian aggression despite Russian shelling of civilian infrastructure That’s according to the sociological survey of the Kyiv International Institute of sociology that was conducted on 21-23 October 2022. 89% of those who chose the Ukrainian language said to continue the fight while 66% of those who chose the Russian language chose the same. https://euromaidanpress.com/2022/10/24/86-of-ukrainians-say-ukraine-should-continue-repelling-russian-aggression-despite-recent-russian-shelling/
  5. Advertisers are going to be looking at this closely, its how twitter makes money, without them then Musk's backers are not going to be happy. Study Finds Hate Speech Increases on Twitter After Elon Musk Acquisition https://www.montclair.edu/school-of-communication-and-media/2022/10/29/study-finds-hate-speech-increases-on-twitter-after-elon-musk-acquisition/
  6. Rather than ask me, if you are so interested then just join up? I don't follow racist people, trolls or people who promote it, so can't answer your question. Although I did note some extreme links from other people
  7. He needs to start with himself first as linking to a website that spreads conspiracy theories that lack evidence and their source is "IMHO" is just not good enough for an owner of twitter Elon Musk deleted a tweet about Paul Pelosi. Here’s why that matters. On Sunday, he posted a response to Hillary Clinton that “there is a tiny possibility there might be more to this story” behind the attack on Paul Pelosi in San Francisco, linking to an opinion article in the Santa Monica Observer, a site described by fact-checkers as a low-credibility source favoring the extreme right. The article claimed without evidence that Pelosi was drunk at the time of the assault and “in a dispute with a male prostitute.” The article, which was amplified by several right-wing figures, cited no sources and attributes its contents to IMHO — internet shorthand for “in my humble opinion.” https://www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2022/10/30/musk-deleted-tweet-pelosi/
  8. Seeing as you don't trust the FBI, its not them who is investigating this.
  9. Like I said, all available in the west for those that want to get different perspectives. Google search link
  10. Fits in perfectly well with the OP, that's why I posted it: Elon Musk's Twitter roils with hate speech as trolls test new limits
  11. From my post that you responded to and quoted "The Times, in a 2021 editorial, noted that the Observer "is notorious for publishing false news. In 2016, for example, it claimed that Hillary Clinton had died and that a body double had been sent to debate Donald Trump."
  12. Elon tweeted this directly to Hilary Clinton. A conspiracy theory about the pelosi attack from a website that is well known for its false claim that Hilary died and a body double was being used to replace her. Yes scary and sick. Probably why he later decided to delete it.
  13. Yea but you said: "Could it possibly be because we are not being given the full picture about Russia?" Perhaps that should have read you, not "we" as there are plenty of sources out there to get all perspectives for those that wish to.
  14. "Latin America is hurtling to the left, a watershed moment that began in 2018" NYT
  15. Twitter is planning to start charging $20 per month for verification / And if the employees building it don’t meet their deadline, they’ll be fired by Elon Musk. Twitter is currently planning to charge $19.99 for the new Twitter Blue subscription. Under the current plan, verified users would have 90 days to subscribe or lose their blue checkmark. Employees working on the project were told on Sunday that they need to meet a deadline of November 7th to launch the feature or they will be fired. Musk has been clear in the months leading up to his acquisition that he wanted to revamp how Twitter verifies accounts and handles bots. On Sunday, he tweeted: “The whole verification process is being revamped right now.” https://www.theverge.com/2022/10/30/23431931/twitter-paid-verification-elon-musk-blue-monthly-subscription
  16. "and you apparently think google etc doesn't "restrict" information, depending on what or who it's about. LOL." Since when has Google been the only option available?
  17. There is, I've also noticed a spike in Russian tourists in Phuket. However many have been here throughout anyway, International Schools have a very large proportion of Russian students, the family can then get education visa's as a result so they can all stay here.
  18. Doesn't that depend on what picture you want to be given? After all you have free internet access to get all perspectives in both western and Russian eng language speaking media, unlike Russia where its restricted.
  19. Musk has owned Twitter under a week and big names are already leaving the platform, complaining about a hate surge, and calling for tighter regulation "That didn’t take long. It’s been four days since Elon Musk finalized his $44 billion takeover of Twitter, and already he’s facing pushback from celebrities, lawmakers, and advertisers worried about how the social network will change under his leadership, even as many conservative voices rejoice." https://fortune.com/2022/10/30/elon-musk-twitter-pushback-celebrities-lawmaker-advertisers/ GM Temporarily Suspends Twitter Advertising After Musk Takeover https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2022-10-28/gm-temporarily-suspends-twitter-advertising-after-musk-takeover
  20. Looks like Musk himself is testing the new limits. This is what happens when someone with little self control and a huge ego takes over twitter. Elon setting a low bar on future standards. Elon Musk spreads unfounded conspiracy theory about Paul Pelosi attack on Twitter Days after taking control of Twitter, Elon Musk posted and later deleted an unfounded conspiracy theory on Sunday about the attack on Paul Pelosi, the husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Musk tweeted Sunday morning to his 112 million followers that "there is a tiny possibility there might be more to this story than meets the eye" and posted a link to an unfounded story offering a conspiracy theory about the attack. The story was posted in the Santa Monica Observer, a publication known for spreading misinformation." https://news.yahoo.com/elon-musk-spreads-unfounded-conspiracy-173145773.html Musk Posts Then Deletes Tweet Spreading Conspiracy Theory on Pelosi Attack Episode shows pressures ahead as free-speech goals run up against Musk’s pledges to advertisers "The episode underscored the pressures that Musk, a self-styled “free speech absolutist,” now faces in running the popular social media website — particularly in how to place limits on misinformation and hate speech on its service. Musk has pledged to advertisers that Twitter won’t become a “free-for-all hellscape” under his leadership, but at the same time pronounced that unfettered speech should be the norm on the site. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2022-10-30/musk-posts-then-deletes-tweet-spreading-conspiracy-theory-on-pelosi-attack
