I've experienced this personally, first time many years ago in a Thai/Korean barbeque restaurant here in Phuket that had dual menu's, one for local Thai's and one for foreigners. Went in there with my wife and young daughter, were given the local menu first but the waitress quickly came back and changed it for the alternative and more expensive foreigner menu.
