Taking your last statement first, what exactly is going to get worse ? As for the first bit, as usual you have a very one sided selfish, self centered approach, we all know you've been stuck in the UK for yonks but only want to come back on your terms, ie: come and go back to the UK for medical reasons with no hoops to jump through, unfortunately the world has changed and probably changed for a long long time. Sorry mate, get used to it, it's the new normal.

Phuket Sandbox is failing foreign tourists: tourism official
Golden Triangle replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
That is absolute claptrap, there are more Thais refusing to get a shot than you can shake a stick at, my outlaws to start with, I have friends up north whose partners are saying no, some of the locals around me out here on the Darkside of Pattaya, the list goes on, yet all my expat mates and their Thai partners can't get it fast enough, in the UK all my family ( and I have a large extended family there ) have been jabbed, if you're an American I can understand your comment, as they say, no sense no feeling. -

I admire your optimism but don't share it I'm afraid, the UK traveler has much nicer options on their doorstep, Mediterranean islands, Greece, Italian Riviera, Southern France, the Dalmatian coast of the former Yugoslavia, etc etc, USA residents just have to hop on a plane or even drive to just about every type of climate you could need, all usually a lot cheaper and easier to get to & back home from, you don't really need a 3rd world backwater requiring far too many hoops to jump through. -

@giddyupDo you mean expatvac.consular.go.th ? because the original expatvac didn't require that at all, I registered with Samithivej Chonburi when it went live on the original expatvac site, I have since had my first AZ jab, just marking time till the 2nd one ???? Incidentally, I to received the you have successfully registered email only to be told to eff off a week later for same reason as you by expatvac.consular.go.th. Chill mate, you'll get there ???????????????? -
Stop looking online, the ones on line as far as I can work out only want your dosh, I met plenty of very nice ladies working in markets, 7/11 etc, yeah had a few bar girls in the early days of a month long holiday to get rid of the dirty water but plenty of normal girls out there. My Mrs used to sell fish in lots of the local wet markets, we met at a party of a mutual friend, been together for just over 10 years now, my neighbour has a GF who operates 3 or 4 food stalls around the Jomtien area, always busy ordering stock & checking on staff, but she's independent and enjoys life. Try normal women.

Last year you say, it's not even September yet, how many times have the diggers been on the beach putting the sand back in place ? At least 3, and that's being generous possibly more ???? -

At what cost - or do you think the diggers do it out of the goodness of their hearts ? -

Well according to one member here who posted many months ago that the beach was designed to wash away every time it rains, clever bit of ( financial ) planning by someone if you ask me. ???????????? -
We bought a Sharp EO 70K table top oven about 8 weeks ago, we are experiencing problems reaching & maintaining the required cooking temperature, yesterday was the first time we have actually used it to bake some biscuits ( cookies ) the rest of the time it has just been used for grilling stuff mainly. The Mrs came home with a thermometer that sits ( or hangs ) inside the oven and tells you what the internal temperature is, she also bought a digital probe that I have used to confirm the reading of the in oven type. Anyway, the recipe yesterday required the oven to be set to 190 C, the best the oven could reach was 150 C, I confirmed this by just opening the door a tiny fraction and placing the long probe into the oven. This morning the Mrs decided to have another go, she set the temperature initially at the maximum of 250 C, the oven reached 250 according to her ( I was still in me scratcher ) she turned it down to 190 C but the temperature dropped right back to 150 C, so from that I assume one or two dodgy components, either the thermostat or temperature sensor - or both ???? I have checked Sharp's customer care online and they state that most items are covered by their 1 year warranty plus we took out the retailer's additional extended warranty, not being an electrician I'm just looking for confirmation of my diagnosis or have I missed anything ?? Thanks in advance ????

Diary of a farang in Isaan

Thank gawd for that, it would seem that the TMD has forecast heavy rains across the whole kingdom until the end of the month, obviously that's not long enough and I sincerely hope you and your fellow farmers get more than your fair share in the next few weeks ???????? -
For someone who appears to have a wealth of knowledge on the subject you seem to be awfully reticent on sharing that knowledge with others who may appreciate the information, you seem to be quite content to ridicule others, you do know that it's a 2 way street ? One day you may come asking for advice only to be ridiculed for your naivety on the subject.

Locals hit out at Miami inspired beautification of Pattaya

I posted this a few days ago on another thread about the same thing, hopefully it'll answer your question. ???? For those that don't know, the funds ( according to the mayor ) came from a conglomerate involved in the Eastern Economic Corridor, some from central government as well apparently, so according to Mr Mayor it was not the city's money in the first place to spend where it wanted ie the starving & homeless, as so many people demanded. The large shade trees that were removed, although having been in situ for about 30 years were trees common to Thailand, but were a softwood variety & were considered a danger to people during storms and high winds as large bits were known to break off. So there you have it, I'm not saying I agree with it, just stating facts. -
Fugitive police chief 'Jo Ferrari' surrenders

So why did he run if it was all above board ? Ah, I just twigged, murder is still not legal, that was just an unfortunate accident, <deleted> happens you know. ???? -
2 things, usually alcohol, in a sufficient amount to dull the senses slightly ( not too much ) you should know what your reasonable ( still able to perform ) level is. Or, and I'm not joking here, but obviously depends on your age, knock one out before a liaison, as a youngster I suffered badly, but that cured it, and when I found booze, well that was the mutts nuts. Good luck sir.

I won't say anything what we had last night then ???? Sorry I didn't realise it got your back up, we do need it though because last year it was possible to walk from one side of the lake to the other without getting your feet wet, now with no tourists and hotels closed the PWA has a chance to fill the reservoirs again. -
Thanks Sheryl, I did pay for the 2 Moderna jabs ( non refundable ) we will definitely ditch the Sinovac/Sinopharm AZ when the appointment comes through, she will definitely have the 2 AZ at Samithivej starting next week, hopefully by the time the Moderna comes through all the necessary tests will be completed & sufficient time elapsed to convert 2 doses to 2 booster shots. ????????????
