Well. If this grim possibility proves to come true I think I would rather be on the fringe of a small rural village surrounded by fields than a fancy apartment on Sukhumvit.

Time to start gradually stocking my doomsday larder and getting some booze in.

Wife has her nicely sloped 40 acres with an all year stream bordering one edge a road bordering another in the wilds of Issan.  String up a bit of solar, battery, sneak in a Starlink system, and were good to go.  Can always ferment rice (the right way) to make hooch.

I did also registered on that website but nothing happened as OP said, then when they opened the registration in a more better way on https://thailandintervac.com/  where you can see/find which facilities accepting registration and if you keep coming back to the site you would see which of the medical centers or hospitals accepting registration.

I did register with Medpark Hospital and fill up the form attached what needed (I chose 13th Aug at 2.30 pm as my preferred date) and then received an email telling me that my registration is a success and i have to wait for a confirmation email for vaccination appointment, but after 2 days nothing happened so I called Medpark hospital directly and told about my registration, they asked me some questions about my registration info. then they confirmed to me (yes) they have my details and I was already booked for the 16th at 2.30 pm of this month to go and get my Pfizer first shot.

I did ask them why there is no confirmation email of the appointment, the answer was they don't know but he said good that I called. and to be sure after another 3 days I called again to be sure that all good and it looks like it is still good to go.

So guys, try to register in one of the facilities close to you https://thailandintervac.com/  and follow up your registration and don't feel frustrated if you have to wait till someone picks up your call (that's what happened with me but all good ).

lets hope that the 16th will be still standing and not canceled..!

    Stay Safe

I found e-mailing Medpark was much better than calling where you would be on hold for 10's of minutes and no answer.  E-mails were answered in under 6 hrs.

I have been on a Healthy 7-11 diet lately.  they also deliver if that helps you.

Teens and their "hoodlum friends" (all straight A's) staying over on a Sat night can't resist the midnight 10min walk to experience a 7/11 Gourmet Buffet to go.  The sound of cracking packaging reverberates through out the house...

  4. Hmm, let's see.  I met my wonderful wife beginning of 2000, had a family right away, tried to get a house built here (well known builder ran off with progress payment advance for materials), coup in 2006, late in life miracle 3rd child with the teens a few years from leaving the nest, value of land investments here going to hell, baht too strong for a very long time, increasing immigration complexities the last 5 years... Yup, the best years were '92 (my 1st time here) '94, '96 - '99 (month long tourist all those years).  '98 was really good at 52 baht to the USD around new years at Lamai Beach.  Was right when I came and cashed all the USD to baht I was going to use and went into drunken sailor mode.  Even converted some back as I was leaving back to the US and made money on it.  A good number of pretty girls were all nighting for 600 baht ($11.50) and very, very appreciative to get that.   Party at night, quite and mellow during the day.  Good times, good times....

Better late than never. I always forget to check Twitter for up-to-date info.

This is a clear map from MOPH Twitter (Ministry of Public Health):

29 deep red, 37 red and 11 yellow.

Thanks, will have the teens keep a lookout as time goes on.  Not a twitter guy myself.  Will do a drive to Chainat, avoiding Tak, then next day into BKK to get shot and head back north as soon as they let me out of the vaccination area.  Have the phone signup for leaving BKK already which that and my vaccine documentation should get me through road blocks.

Depends if it's a bargirl or a policeman asking.

Bargirl... Bargirl; now that's a name I've not heard in a long time, long time.  Before the dark times, before the coup...

    Apologies to SW-Episode IV

What time was your appointment on Friday 13 August?

May I ask why you had to email them twice?

The appt was made some time ago and as the landscape has been continually changing over time for vaccine choices, best to make sure over that breath of time I was still to receive the vaccine I was to originally scheduled to get.
