  1. You can have a virul load and be symptomatic, pre-symptomatic or asymptomatic with Sars-CoV-2. Children around the world are being infected. In NSW, more than 2,700 cases have been in people aged 19 and under, accounting for 30% of infections. Of the 633 cases announced on Wednesday, 63 were in kids aged nine and under, and 104 in people aged 10 to 19. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2021/aug/19/experts-say-delta-variant-spread-among-australian-children-is-concerning-in-absence-of-covid-vaccine
  2. Yep. Children can spread this to each other playing together and take it home. Just needs 1 kid to be positive. No better place for this to happen than schools. Temperature checks and alcohol washes just aren't effective. The major form of transmission for Delta is inhalation of an infected person's breath. Kids will not keep masks on all day and many will not wear them properly to start with. Australia is now talking about 80% vaccination of the populatoin including children whereas currently it's 70-80% adults.
  3. Still have a 20-30% chance of contracting Sars-CoV-2 and a higher chance than that if the kids get jabbed with sinovac x 2 as studies are now showing. It is true that the chance of kids becoming seriously ill or dying is still low but as we see on here it does happen. There is also long covid in the mix. This is an interesting article .... Experts say Delta variant spread among Australian children is concerning in absence of Covid vaccine With data showing children can be vulnerable to long Covid, a former AMA president says the lack of an approved vaccine for the young is troubling https://www.theguardian.com/world/2021/aug/19/experts-say-delta-variant-spread-among-australian-children-is-concerning-in-absence-of-covid-vaccine
  4. Questions about schools. Would you send an unvaccinated child to school if your family was also unvaccinated? What about teachers? Should all teachers be double vaccinated? The vaccinated can still contract and spread the virus. It will happen again. They will open schools and there will be outbreaks. Previous variants were easier to control if done properly but this is the wildfire variant.
  5. Not really. They just shifted out 10's of thousands who 'probably' didn't need to be in hospital but still need some care or medication and called them recovered.
  6. I gave this the laughing emoji because i instantly thought of bubble and seal. Some people given one meal a day. Water scarcity. Terrible conditions. Zero human rights.
  7. Very interesting. Again with the herd immunity and then this.... "Even though children may not develop severe symptoms, they should not be virus carriers," I'm a bit confused by the English in this sentence but I think it means they should be vaccinated. Anyhow this is interesting..... Babies and toddlers are less likely to bring the coronavirus into their homes than teenagers are, but once they are infected, they are more likely to spread the virus to others in their households, according to a large new study by a Canadian public health agency. https://www.nytimes.com/2021/08/16/health/covid-kids-toddlers-transmission.html
  8. Well people who are unvaccinated in the USA make up most of the deaths so I guess we know that vaccinations help against death if infected with covid-19. How did they make the vaccines? Guess they knew something about Sars-CoV-2. They know it's an RNA virus and know the moleculular structure. They know that's it's a blood disease which attacks the respiratory system but also can effect other parts of the body. They know that it can be both symptomatic and asymptomatic. They know that it is possible to get long covid post infection. They know that Delta or B.617.2 is highly contagious, much more than previous variants. They know there are and have been different variants. I guess saying we seem to no nothing about covid might not be the case.
  9. Even allowing for a % of false positives these numbers don't seem to make daily infection numbers example being the 7000 previously recorded in a single day. False negatives are also of concern.
  10. Impossible to tell without at the very least a 50% increase in testing plus home test kits are being being used so we don't really know about positives. It's only walkins and known clusters. Walkins have been around the same number for a while. Walkins have declined by 9 from yesterday so this isn't significant.
  11. Must be close to 15,000 ATK positives in the last week. Official daily infection numbers does not indicate these are ever being included. Testing remains plateaued as do infection numbers.
  12. Fourth wave maybe or a continuance of the third.
  13. Why would you say this about someone who always posts informative and rational posts? Discraceful comment.
  14. Probably right. Stalin didn't care about anyone or anything except power. One could say the same about the general here that came to power through a coup and won a very questionable election.
  15. Yep and absolutely no extra testing. Good that vaccinations are going up but fairly sure they'll be ripping through the sinovac so they can get more.
  16. Good idea. How about a testing unit to go with them. What am I thinking. Vaccination numbers up infection numbers down so I guess my good idea isn't going to happen.
  17. Interesting. Exposure to previous variant does not give any immunity to Delta. Mmmm?
  18. Maybe it's because there was doubt about vaccinations for pregnant women and these women have not been vaccinated. I don't know.
  19. How do you know they were happy then and had positive experiences?
  20. Money well spent do you think? By the way how do you know they are happy. Did you talk to them personally or have you seen a survey.
  21. Again 30% under 60. It would be informative if they included vaccination status including type and number of jabs with these fatalities.
