  1. A moot point as the same can be said for alcohol and cigarettes which are both more harmful than dope.
  2. Not suprising consindering ALL news articles and government messages are negative, even demonising and based on falsehoods not evidence and that many Thais tend to believe what they are told as truth. This survey just mirrors this. I remember some guy going beserk in Pattaya and it was instantly blamed on dope. My initial thought was ice which it turned out to be but the negative damage to was done. There have been many articles like this. This, however, shows almost 25%, which represents a large number, do not want dope recriminalised as a narcotic. When taking into account a % of respondents will be anti everything, booze, cigs etc and a large % of respondents will have a complete lack of education about dope and as I stated above will believe what they are told vis a vis complete negative messaging then these results can very well be seen in another light.
  3. The wine bit is just stupid AI and absolutely no editing checks before uploading the article, but having some beer or whiskey (yep! Irish spelling whiskey with an e) in your guts already or eating then drinking not too long after is the same as drinking and eating at the same time. All has time to mix in your guts. I'll have a couple of beers and not a whole lot of durian (difficult) and I'm ok. If I've got some mangosteens I'll finish off with one or two of those and my tummy doesn't get too hot. Too much beer and too much durian I can really feel the heat in my guts.
  4. As I posted above this was my attitude towards durian. Once someone convinced me to eat some my attitude changed completely. Of course having never eaten any I didn't know what it tastes like and my opinion, as is yours, was shaped only by the smell, by perception. What happened when I tried it was something amazing. I found it delicious and the smell instantly went from bad to fragrant and I was hooked. This fruit is addictive and I I'm saying this in a medical way. I'm sure there's a dopamine response. Like many foods, people's negative opinions are often based on perception rather than experience. Red ant egg salad is another example for me. At first my perception of eating ant's eggs was not a good one until I ate some. It's now by far my favourite spicy salad here in Thailand. I no longer form opinions about food without trying it. You may never know if you're missing out on something delicious just because you think it isn't.
  5. Well the magnifiant AI is at it again. Maybe beer's ok then. Apart from this nonsense I've always been told don't drink (alcohol of any variety) and eat durian. This I have ignored of course but I do not dismiss this advice. Durian without alcohol heats my gut a bit but with a beer or three this increases. This is because the liver "gets hot" as a Thai friend (science teacher) told me. He also said that to cool the liver also eat mangosteen, the queen of fruits. Monthong durian is definitely my favourite fruit here with okrong mangoes being a close second. Okrong means cleavage and you can see this on the fruit. Pale flesh and very juicy. I'll bet that evey poster on here that says durian is disgusting has never eaten it. This was my opinion at first but once I tried it I was hooked. The smell became sweet and the taste is incredible. Absolutely love it.
  6. There are many lists showing what drugs are the worst. I challenge anyone to post one that has dope above alcohol, nicotine, meth, coke, heroin, and fentanyl. As I said. This may [or may not be] the case for heavy users. Having the occasional joint do you think this is so or are you just regurgitating worst case scenarios used in arguments against the 'evil weed'. Reefer Madness is a classic example of propoganda demonising the herb.
  7. Sure mate. I know and have known plenty of people who say dope's bad and they're full on drinkers and smokers. They'll argue that coffee isn't a drug. As for dope causing paranoia this is just another example of ignorance. Heavy users maybe but heavy users will get dope be it legal or illegal.
  8. Sadly the anti-drug conservative zealots will have their way as they sit there drinking down their alcohol. Fair chance that the anti-drug posters on here are having a few drinks and few cigs as they type away saying what a demon drug dope is. Problems will increase not decrease with recrimanalistion. Prohibition doesn't work. Everyone knows this. Everyone knows that dope will still be available and everyone knows that the money made from black market sales with recriminalisation goes back to the criminals. Dope is one of the least harmful drugs. This is 100% Thaksin and Army and maybe someone else.
  9. Yep and we are were we are. The market toke took over. 0.2% and there's no way the market would be worth 10's of billions of baht.
  10. So courts and prisons will once again be burdened. Health issues are on the rise. What health issues and what's the number? Rubbish. Easy answer is to regulate. Does the government not have the brains to do this? Yeh! Silly question I know but a $1.2 billion dollar so around Bt45 billion baht will now be binned and black market money will go back to the criminals in the drug industry so the drug kingpins, generals, BIB, smugglers and dearlers. Yep! This seems like a rational thing to do. Agree except for the focus on medicinal use as this will be a very small % of sales in comparison to purchase for recreational use.
  11. True and I've done the same here. I guess this is the new 'professionalism' in delivering NEWS online on this site. It doesn't have to be this way and I'm sure most of us would appreciate human content albeit with spelling and grammatical errors. The article itself is an interesting one and doesn't appear AI generated but being that the source of any article now is not given it's probablly a direct lift with an AI searched image added.
  12. Thanks but may I add that this stupidity is supported by legacy media. Initially and even now it's very rare to hear that what is happening in Gaza is because Hamas slapped Israel and Israell slapped back a whole lot harder. This Free Gaza thing I would agree with if it was Free Gaza from the Islamist terror organisation Hamas. Sadly the idiots of this world do not even seem to see Hamas as Islamic terrorists as displayed to the World to see on Oct. 7. I really can't believe how stupid people have become. Edit: I forgot the idiots screaming "From the river to the see". Basically fkall of them will know what river and what sea and while their screaming genocide by Israel this is exacttly what their advocating. The world is full of absolute self entiled morons.
  13. It's quite perplexing how people can support radical Islam. I've seen gay men in dresses, sorry gender disphoria men in dresses, yelling "Free Gaza". Love to see them doing that in Iran for example.
  14. This has to be the most stupid image linked to an article ever on this site and lately this takes some doing.
  15. Yes. Can be many reasons. All speculation.
  16. Yes, we will. Thing is we still might not know but I guess it doesn't matter if we know or not I just hope the family gets a satisfactory reason.
  17. So what. Why do you need to know right now? Maybe these are the only details released. What's wrong with you? Do you not know the process of how these types of deaths work? Accept for now he's died. What are the circumstances? Maybe, just maybe we'll have to wait.
  18. Maybe this is a little complicated when the OP is really about the rockets and a danger of collision. Here's an easier and of course extremely simplified version. Take a long length of PVC piping, stuff it full of gunpowder, apply wick and light. Rocket goes up. Rocket is going very, very fast. Rocket hits plane. Not good.
  19. Hamas went into Israel and mudered over 1100 civilians on Oct 7 last year. This is a fact. The two mentioned in the article were two of these although it seems their deaths occured later in captivity. Murdered by nutter Islamist terrorists.
  20. One wonders if bank accounts have anything to do with this "rigorous selection".
  21. From your comment I'm guessing you've never actually seen one of these 'cardboard or wooden home made rocket[s]" so here's some pics. Not exactly some piddling little carboard or wooden homemade rocket.
  22. Better to have cigs and alcohol legal because they cause less harm? I'm not advocating for the criminalisation of either cigs or booze because that's just as rediculous and won't happen but this century old idea that dope should be classified as a narcotic is just that. A century old. Actually I think it was 1936 or there abouts. Dope of course will still be available but a person becomes a criminal again for smoking it and the real criminals go back to making a fortune. Yep! good idea. Go and get drunk and smoke ciggies is ok but have a spliff and your a criminal. Rediculous. It should be decriminalised with caveats. No smoking areas. Yes. Same as cigs. Sale to minors illigal with stiff penalties. Purchased from licenced outlets. Define the amount a person can have for personal use. Define the amount a person can grow for personal use. Farming/plantations regulated and licensed. These are some examples of how it can be done. Basically decriminalized rather than legalised. Sadly baffoons run the show here.
  23. Ahhh!!!! The land bridge. What a stupid idea that will never happen.
  24. "a government review". So not data, no evidence and no science independant of the government position but purely what the puppet master says. I think we all know the outcome. Regression, which is very good for the drug bosses, the generals and the BIB.
  25. Funny how many films have been banned by the Thai censors though because they don't "promote the charm of Thai culture". It's not only those who stand up against Section 112 who are denied their freedom of speech. Many movie makers here are denied their right to artistic license. TIT. You must conform.
