  1. This is just junk AI. This is a case of a person who has now died for a cause who was sentenced under the weaponised law 112 by Prayut. AN should be ashamed to put this on the net.
  2. Thaksin is behind this. At the end of the day it doesn't matter about if dope is bad or not bad. It's what he wants.
  3. How the Department of Justice and the Drug Enforcement Agency in the US and the WHO classifies cannabis isn't what I would call cherry picking and they both classify it as psychoactive. This isn't to say that other duristications don't classify it as psychtopic. Either way as has been said many times by many posters that to say it's deleterous to mental health as if this applies to everyone is incorrect.
  4. Maybe you should read the link I attatched above from the DEA. If you didn't read it here it is again. https://www.dea.gov/sites/default/files/2020-06/Marijuana-Cannabis-2020_0.pdf If that's not enough here's what wiki says: Cannabis,[a] also known as marijuana[b] or weed among other names, is a psychoactive drug from the cannabis plant. Native to Central or South Asia, the cannabis plant has been used as a drug for both recreational and entheogenic purposes and in various traditional medicines for centuries. Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is the main psychoactive component of cannabis, which is one of the 483 known compounds in the plant, including at least 65 other cannabinoids, such as cannabidiol (CBD). Cannabis can be used by smoking, vaporizing, within food, or as an extract. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cannabis_(drug) It would appear that dope is classified as a psycoactive drug.
  5. Nup. This is psychoactive. Psychoactive drugs are substances that, when taken in or administered into one's system, affect mental processes, e.g. perception, consciousness, cognition or mood and emotions. Psychoactive drugs belong to a broader category of psychoactive substances that include also alcohol and nicotine. https://www.who.int/health-topics/drugs-psychoactive#:~:text=Psychoactive drugs are substances that, include also alcohol and nicotine.
  6. Marijuana is a mind-altering (psychoactive) drug, produced by the Cannabis sativa plant. Marijuana has over 480 constituents. THC (delta9-tetrahydrocannabinol) is believed to be the main ingredient that produces the psychoactive effect https://www.dea.gov/sites/default/files/2020-06/Marijuana-Cannabis-2020_0.pdf
  7. When people criticise dope calling it a psychotropic drug then these people are uneducated to the facts. Education is a good thing but when pointed out it's responded to with negative comments. There is and I'll say it again there is no scientic evidence that dope should be reclassified as a type5 narcotic and hence recriminalised. It's political and it's Thaksin.
  8. Yes. Psychoactive and psychotropic are different. Other psychoactive drugs can include alcohol, caffeine and nicotine for example. Way too many people on this thread that push the demonising narrative with very little knoweledge of what their talking about.
  9. This is about a flooded market (one could say a healthy market) and reduction in prices and profits. Thought that would be obvious.
  10. Magic mushies. Psychotropic? Yes. LSD. Psychotropic? Yes. Dope. Psychotropic? No. Well none I've ever had and I've smoked and eaten some pretty strong stuff.
  11. Being led onto harder drugs and abusing them is not from the dope alone iI would suggest. I don't know why he went this way and I reckon you don't either. As for the guy that just sits around puffing all day again what issues are at play here. The majority of casual or recreational users of all drugs are functioning people. Even alcoholics aka functioning alcoholic. The whole dope is a gateway drug is also a furphy as it always implied smoking dope will lead to an addiction to harder drugs. This would be a very, very small % overall..
  12. Many things can do damage to the body when abused and abusers will continue to abuse whether these things are legal or illegal.
  13. Can't legally purchace cigs or alcohol either but they do. It's a matter of societal attitudes and lack of law enforcement rather than the law itself.
  14. Difference is after a while of choofing down dope you don't fall down drunk. Might fall down from laughing too much but that's about it. Mixing the two is of course different. Then you fall down drunk and laughing.
  15. Nothing in your post suggest harm from dope. It seems like individual choices. As for your 3rd friend are you saying he lost his will, his job and his house simply because he smoked dope?
  16. AIS just gave me an extra days internet free. I'm assuming this is for last Friday's outage.
  17. I'm quoting you @jonclark for an excellent post. Selling to kids tough should be treated the same as alcohol and cigs.
  18. Says who? I'll guantee there is more evidence that says alcohol abuse does more damage. Keep in perspective we are talking about drug abuse not simply drug use. As for drug abuse legal or illegal it will continue to happen.
  19. Did they smoke? Were they overweight? Did they suffer from hypertension? Did their death certificate have cause of death as brain hemorrhage from cannabis consumption?
  20. Yes. Som tam poo pra ra is eaten all over Thailand because there are Issan people all over Thailand and it's not just those from Issan that eat it. Som tam thai I do like especially on a hot day (which is pretty much everyday) with a cold beer. Pla ra I don't eat. There are varying types of som tam but if it says papaya salad then it's som tam thai.
  21. You're paranioa and social issues have been diagnosed as a direct result of smoking dope then? Getting drunk on brandy is not a good thing for me so I don't drink brandy. Dope relaxes me and makes me feel happy so I like the occassional spliff. I don't drink brandy because I know my limits. I have a spliff because I like it. This should not make me a criminal. Different strokes for different folks as they say. .
  22. 14. I'm ok. LSD, magic mushies, speed, coke. I'm ok. Didn't abuse any of them but I regularly smoked dope. Not as much these days but I don't drink as much either. I think it's called getting older.
  23. I agree except for the alcohol bit. You can drink yourself to death. A mate commited suicide this way.
  24. Agree. The abuse or overuse of basically anything can be detrimental to ones health. As for what is and isn't a narcotic is debatable. These days it's more assiatiated with opiates, opioids and amphetamines.
  25. This is true but it's people who already have an existing mental health disease who are heavy users. It's nothing at all like meth that can cause mental health issues for all abusers having or not a pre-extisting mental health issue. For the vast majority of users it's simply not the case. Apart from this what exactly is frequent use. a joint a day? A few joints a week? Complete rubbish and just more demonising of dope from the bloke that said papaya leaf tea can cure cancer. https://www.thaipbsworld.com/deputy-pm-somsak-makes-false-claim-over-cancer-cure/
