  1. but don't you want to find out who contacted their local tax office and got some random information from a nobody who knows nothing?
  2. For once we can say "pesky foreigners" and it's not a joke.
  3. There's so much weed in the US and you can buy it openly in shops in how many states now? It's everywhere in Colorado where I'm from. I can't fathom why you'd risk Thai jail to import the stuff.
  4. I grew up in an all white town. Guess much racial tension we had? ZERO.
  5. Maybe but still 99% of the country has basically no tourists. Problem is 95% of people go to maybe 5-7 locations and totally overwhelm them.
  6. The only I was in Phuket was during COVID, came in during the sandbox program. It was ok enough then even so clearly an area totally dominated by tourism. I shan't be retuning. I went to Koh Samui for the first time last year in January and I didn't see a single Thai tourist, only Europeans and maybe a couple Chinese. Indeed even much of the staff was Burmese but there were also Koreans and Indian manned business. Didn't feel like Thailand and was bizarre honestly. I shan't be returning. There are large zones in Chiang Mai which are now totally dominated by tourists and Thai's largely avoid now. Maybe the worst tourist ghetto I've seen in Thailand though is Pai. So yes, mass tourism has displaced Thai culture in a many areas now.
  7. It's beyond comprehension that any country would accept Somalians as immigrants. One of the most tragic countries in the world and they've clearly learned nothing. It's always very disturbing when I travel back to Colorado USA and I'm greeted with Somalians/Ethiopians manning the wheel chairs and trollies in the airport. Must some NGO sponsored program to find cheap labor.
  8. Exactly. Diversity is poison. Destroys trust and cohesion. Just look at "Diversity is our greatest strength" states of America. Constant racial tensions with no resolution ever found just bitter infighting.
  9. Here's a list of nick names Trump himself uses: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_nicknames_used_by_Donald_Trump This is pretty normal stuff out there in the real world. Bizarre the mods would put there foot down on this. Yeah people are tired of it for sure. The amount of programs out there intended to give money to the 3rd world is mental. You could spend weeks studying all of it. Then if that wasn't bad enough they have programs for "vulnerable" immigrants, never mind the poor already in the country that need just as much help.
  10. Replacing a population is an act of war as far as I'm concerned and totally illegitimate even if sanctioned by some government. The English of the future will need to forcibly remove these people thanks the currently treasonous people in power. It will be ugly but it has to happen.
  11. I think they deleted my post because I used a mocking name towards Donald Trump. I'm sorry, didn't think that was against the policy here. Let's double down on the point though. Is anyone here falling for this propaganda still? You voted for Trump and now that poor African woman and her child are starving in some trash filled slum. Shame on you!
  12. Well there's far more violent criminals in America and anyone could have a gun on them so policing is a whole different beast than in Thailand.
  13. in Thailand there's nearly a 100% tax on domestic tobacco (not sure about imported but it's high too) so the tobacco lobby is losing sales and the government is loosing tax revenue.
  14. It's the kind of Buddhist where you gamble, drink, smoke weed and pay for sex. Not sure what kind of Buddhism you were thinking of.
  15. Chiang Mai has so many old row shops on now busy roads that have only street parking and make them difficult to access. I stopped going into the actual city a long time ago unless for some special reason. Not surprised these things close and don't come back. Oh but look they have gay pride flags now! yay finally some progress.
  16. does Chiang Mai really need any more ugly things and tourists? I think there's enough already.
  17. This would be such a disaster. They're still trying to sell this "rose of north" and "northern cultural capital" crap about Chiang Mai which has already lost most of that but if they added a casino it would be game over.
  18. Well you can go out in public with a bleached anus and no designer vagina. That's just common sense.
  19. They said he had to sell in order to cover the legal fees so make of that what you will.
  20. I've seen 24mb projects in Chiang Mai too. I wouldn't even want one if I could afford it. I don't know what the buyers are thinking but they must be loaded and looking to drop some money as quick as possible.
  21. The whole idea of protecting land ownership for Thai's has basically been thrown out the window at this point because property developers are making projects targeted at foreigners. If the company upholds their end of the bargain and lets them stay in the house then they can continue making these projects forever. That's why you see these stupid expensive prices like 7mb for some concrete box with big windows and a pool.
  22. The guy may have family that could retaliate. Maybe it's better to just poison the entire well in the moo ban to be sure.
  23. Dog doesn't know any better but it's wrong that all dog owners can control barking dogs. We don't have THAT much control over these things after all.
