  1. A big takeaway is that frezzer temps don't not harm the virus.   China thought this to be possible vector.  Thailand is testing seafood trying to maintain exports.  I'm looking at the recent bag of frozen shrimp I bought.  Could be on the outside or inside.   Some more diligence in our future lifestyles maybe needed.   Like ice for drinking in separate freezer compartment.  Wash hands or wear gloves after handling ng frozen products and packages.  Cook foods.  But what about frozen fruits or ice cream?   We are all screwed.

  2. I'm not saying people who don't have a spare  and measly 800,000 k baht to put in a risky bank account are inherently bad. I just  think some of the people who have no better place to go may have some issues.    People who don't have resources or would be destitute in their home country are going to be easily tempted by criminal enterprises.     Not many people under 60, much less 40-50 are set for life.  And if they are by no swear of their own we see  so many examples and recent ones of rich Thai kids going the criminal direction.

  3. Ok so who has the loan out on this car?  This lady was is  brilliant.

Why  would anything be call her cookoo?

She got tons of press for 5000 baht.  Everyone knows hubby has been messing around.     Some of you gents need to snag up this loyal lady quick.   I'm sure she bought the cheapest panties she could find or were those items she found in hubbies trash can?

So the plod can waste time on this but don't give a shat about so many other things that are clearly a crime.

    What law is she violating?

  4. Very few tourists will come to a country with zero vaccinations, or that requires quarantine.

I believe 14 day quarantine is the correct thing but the government should have kept the feeling of  price gouging  lower.

So many thai expats arriving and testing positive.  I don't believe they are being required to have a covid test prior to the flight home.  No way am I getting on a long flight now.

The only people who will visit are people with loved ones,  profitable business dealings, or sex pats.  No normal tourists are going to plan to visit Thailand until they have 70% vaccination rate and can safely remove the quarantine.

  5. I worry we can't wean ourselves off cheap Chinese products or components used in local products.  I worry we don't have intelligent workers who could actually work 45 hours a week doing mundane tasks.   And we currently see there is no support for a increase in the minimum wage.   Company owners are spoiled from making so much money the last 20 years they don't want to share it with the workers.  I even have a neighbor who worked in the oil industry as a platform flunkie who was stationed in some expat community in China.   He lost his job a few years ago and is in early retirement.  He and his wife are fanboys of China.  He won't hear any of the negative things I have to say.

  6. It is sad people have become accustomed to drinking bottled water.    Come but a 10 million baht condo, get elite visa, but then you need to buy water to drink and cook with.   I'm sure people looked at the guy in the sales meeting who came up with bottled water idea as crazy.    I'm glad I drink award winning water right off the mountain aquifer from the melted snow.  I have never in my life  bought much bottled water.  Only in Thailand and here  for convenience on some outings when I'm to lazy to fill my camel bag or bottles,  and emergencies.

  7. Here I am complaining  that I won't  probably won't get the jab until April or may in US.  I think airlines will be reopening routes based on a countries vaccination % and soon will require covid tests or vaccination before all flights.   Thailand government was so caught up in scheming and having no covid cases and thinking they are this medical meeca , submarines, armored water canon trucks, to the moon, protestors, tapping the coffers, they didn't bother to spend bucks on vaccines.  This will become  such a travesty.  Hopefully it will be the straw to break the camel's back. Or is that elephant?

  8. I was shocked at how much trash was in that river when I took the palace and wat tour across the river with my first thai woman.  I would say I saw more than 1 piece of plastic trash per sq meter.  I was shocked seeing this.  No way can a river that has flooding and so much boat traffic catch 60%.   I say attack this problem at the source.  Education education.  Oh wait they don't want educated masses.

  9. I needed last 6 digits of SS #.  That's basically the whole thing since not many different first 3 digits.  Also had to verify an email address, and phone number, and a few security questions ( hopefully everyone is smart enough to spoof those) and if you transfer to a bank account then 1 non government entity picked by the last administration has all this verified info in one database.     I smell a skunk.   Anyone happy with 1800$ in a year of covid or the fact that high income people also got it are crazy.

Nothing wrong with a paper check.

Just imagine being a homeless person with no bank account.  Maybe you have a phone or not.   It's a highly technical process for those that need it most.  And for what end goal?  How much $ will be left unused?  And was the bidding for this lucrative contract above board?  What % fee is this entity charging compared to paper check?
