  1. I would say that one issue is that we don't really get to see most of the downsides in Thailand, due to the fact that we are in a pretty good position. One of the key differences between East and West is the rights of the individual. In the West, the rights of the individual are put first, even where it is "bad" for the group. In the East, the rights of the group are out first, even where it is bad for the individual. We're fortunate enough to not know how bad things can be in Thailand, as we are generally in the group living a reasonable life. We aren't particularly vulnerable.
  2. There are pros and cons to both cultures. One is more strict, the other more relaxed. Both have their good sides and their bad sides.
  3. The Americas were originally empty. The Native Americans were the first wave if immigrants, as were most "native" populations. Everyone started out in Africa.
  4. Thais and Thailand definitely have areas where they are better than other cultures, but to say they are more civilised or trustworthy is ridiculous. Say what you want about Western countries, but they're clearly more honest (less likely to lie or scam, lower corruption, more likely to follow the rules/law) and more civilised (less racist, better educated, more empathic). Thailand and Thai people are better than the West in many ways, but we shouldn't forget that there are many ways that rhe West is superior, also.
  5. So, White culture isn’t weak at all, but it's merely an accident of geography? That appears to be what you are saying, yet it doesn't really agree with what you said previously.
  6. I've encountered a lot more Thai Supremacy than White Supremacy. Are you as annoyed with the Thais that have this attitude as you are with the foreigners?
  7. He's just a troll. His comments rarely make any actual sense.
  8. Who is saying this???
  9. Then how has it become the dominant culture around the world? That doesn't sound like something a weak culture could achieve.
  10. If I was being very generous, it's a way of pointing out that non-White people might have trouble doing these things and we therefore shouldn't judge them as a result (a little patronising and illogical). This angle is to help White people understand non-White people. If I was being more realistic, it's a way of saying that things that White people might be proud of, or positive things people could say about "White culture", are bad because they are different and linked to "Whiteness" and non-White people don't have to feel bad for not having these things. This angle is to attack White people.
  11. A lot of it seems to be accurate. Certainly in terms of attitude, if not always reality. Kind of weird that it seems to be being presented as a negative thing.
  12. But his grandma told him... 🤷‍♂️
  13. I just completed this quiz. My Score 90/100 My Time 37 seconds
  14. I thought the same. The "comradery" here comes from preventing another rider from something that might make him consider wearing a helmet more often, which is very much a good thing. People seem to get a little confused when it comes to the police and the reason for having fines. Surprising, given how dangerous the roads are in Thailand (and how often people complain about this fact).
  15. Can you bolt a piece of metal to both ends of whatever is broken? Like a splint? That will probably be better, just not great to look at.
  16. It's already illegal. This is about parents.
  17. Then it probably shouldn't be called the "anti-spanking law", as spanking is quite mild.
  18. Sure, White majority countries need non-Whiteness artificially injected into their politics. That should really help with xenophobia and ethnic nationalism... 🙄
  19. It looks like you wrote "correct", not "agree". 🤷‍♂️
  20. Even if they manage the latter, I doubt the former will ever happen, by design.
  21. The thing is, people can make sense and still be wrong. If say "A means B, therefore we have no choice but to do C", they may sound completely convincing and appear to have a good point. People can present a "logical" argument and still be wrong.
  22. I think the issue with you asking this is that it was Hitler's subjective opinion, so you can't really say whether it was correct or not.
