  1. My thoughts exactly. I'm curious as to whether they were reported by other foreigners... 🤔
  2. Arresting a group of people after having their activities reported to them is in no way any kind of "crackdown".
  3. Is that the sink hole, or an unrelated image used for demonstrative purposes? Seems like a fairly typical Thai road.
  4. Is he active on the forum? Then yes, he is trolling...
  5. You can probably find images of STDs online if you really want to see them. 🤷‍♂️
  6. They don't want any riffraff in the same section of the road as them.
  7. No. Most people don't wear helmets in Thailand. Particularly youngsters. Regardless, if the kids had been wearing helmets, they might have lived. He has most of the blame, sure, but if people aren't wearing helmets, and are involved in incidents where a helmet could have saved their lives, they are partly to blame for their death. It's the law, and it's common sense.
  8. The truth can never be a troll. Even if people don't like it.
  9. Why would the authorities sue themselves or their families and business partners?
  10. It's very easy to manipulate polls and get the result you want. "80% of people support X", while they carefully selected a group that they know very likely support X. Or they could pose questions that lead people to choose the response they want.
  11. Indeed. Part of the reason for compensation is to punish the negligent for their crimes. The money should, of course, go to the family of the victims. It's not like its worked out as a direct reimbursement of money spent raising a child.
  12. What difference does it make? What do they think the compensation is for? The money spent raising the children? Just because the kids were living with the grandparents, the parents have no right to compensation? Based on what? If it's all about money, then the absent parents have lost their retirement plan, or they could have been paying the grandparents to look after the children. If it's about emotional loss, why does that change just because they are working and don't have time to raise their children? This sounds like people are simply trying to wheedle out of paying for their negligence and don't understand the reason for compensation.
  13. How is there even a debate to have? It's so obvious what the cause was; corruption and lack of safety. Is one side of the debate really saying that this is OK?
  14. Simple, sure, but corruption is a key part of Thai culture. It's almost like saying "eliminate Thailand". It might change, but, like any society, it will probably change very, very slowly.
  15. How could you possibly know that? It's just as likely that they were in this position because they went out to see their friends and forgot to get gas, while their parents didn't care to know what they were up to. Your comment is, ironically, very sanctimonious also. 🙄
  16. He's a left-wing nutcase. They live in a world of lies.
  17. Presumably neither of them were wearing helmets, but if they were, they might not have died. If they had decent education on safety at school, they might have worn helmets. I'm not sure how that can't be seen as a positive thing. 🤷‍♂️
  18. Ok then, we will ignore what the report actually said and the photographic evidence because you want to argue as usual. Two trolls trolling each other. 😵‍💫 It's like two AI chat bots having a conversation... 🙄
  19. Thai rage doesn't follow any kind of logic. Family, life-long friend, trusted business partner, say the wrong thing and it's over for you.
  20. It certainly sounds that way. Also, the fact that there was no safety/rescue equipment as per Thai standard was probably a major contribution to the death. Another totally avoidable death in Thailand... 😟
  21. Oh my. How terribly transphobic! 🤭
  22. Who is shocked by this? Did anyone here think it was any different than this?
  23. You seem to be the one that cannot read. He said illegals. Another sad example of people who hate Trump not being able to think or to read. 🙄
  24. These people hate Trump so much, all logical thinking leaves their brain and they say ridiculous things.
  25. It seems like in Thailand people often just pull out, rather than waiting to give way. Generally people do slow down and it somehow works, but every now and then it doesn't. Really bad driving habits in Thailand. The issue is that what happens to someone else, doesn't seem to effect how other people drive. They just keep on driving in the most dangerous ways.
