    It's quite amazing how adverse Thai people are to raising prices. I guess the way the government has always subsidised most things for the people, price increases make it seem like you are attacking the customer. I've seen traders reduce portion sizes dramatically in order to not have to increase prices, even though that is effectively a price increase.

    More likely they're applying a cap to what casinos can charge locals, while foreigners will have no cap.

    What's most amazing about this is that Thais are shocked in any way. This doesn't seem any more dangerous than most stuff you see on Thai roads.

    I'm not sure I understand what you're asking. I was merely pointing out how the left tries to control what people do through various dishonest means, and as such a left-wing person calling conservatives fascist is ridiculous.

    He's just in denial. The past 10 years has seen the passing of the king, economic and political challenges, covid, and the explosion of social media (and its effect on the youth), all of which have had a huge affect on Thailand. Safety is one of these types who has their self-esteem/ego pegged to their image of Thailand, so he can't allow himself to believe anything negative about the place.

    Yes, they should really be referred to as ladyboys. Ladyboys use the term themselves, as do most Thais. They aren't necessarily the same as what we would call a transgender person in the West, where the term is used, and it's important to know who is being spoken about when it comes to crime.
