  1. This sounds like a bad joke. It's a terrible indictment on the Thai education system that they think people will believe this. Much like saying the B300 tourist tax will go to maintain tourist attractions or help foreign tourists in need. I assume they saw an opportunity to get rich easily.
  2. I wonder how many buildings are planned to be at only 49% occupancy... ????
  3. Any chance it could have been one time if you had paid sinsod?
  4. And you think it was better when Thaksin controlled the media? Is that what your point is?
  5. Incredibly sad to learn this. UbonJoe was so very helpful, especially during the covid nightmare. He was never condescending, always sympathetic, and didn't get agitated if people disagreed with him. Several times I suggested in threads he was active in that if he were to drop a link to a a "buymeacoffe.com" type site that people would love to express thanks for all his help. He wasn't interested in any kind of reward. On a small forum, of a website that a few people call home, he made a difference... ????
  6. How was it rendered out of context? That's your opinion. As I said, I disagree with that. Why would I want to explain that?
  7. I don't see how that contradicts anything I have written.
  8. And I disagreed with that opinion in the case of Thaksin.
  9. If that is the case, why was the coup against Thaksin needed? He was corrupt and elected, but no one voted him out? Why? Because he controlled the media to ensure that the voters didn't know how corrupt he was? Because he paid them so they didn't care? Corrupt leaders whose corruption is what allowed them to be elected and prevents them being voted out cannot be voted out.
  10. There sure was a lot of scheming, cronyism, and vote buying for someone who was "unstoppable in elections"...
  11. Business owner, presumably an adult, but still thinks that if someone is attractive then they must be a good person...? I guess the Thai cultural programming is hard to crack.
  12. It makes people feel bad. We need to see people's faces.
  13. I still regularly see Thais lifting their masks from under their chin and putting it over their nose and mouth when they spot me, even if we are both outside, I'm wearing a mask, and we are more than ten metres apart. It seems like many Thais still have the idea that all foreigners have covid, and possibly that it is spread through eye contact,
  14. Not really much of a twist. Unless they're all cyanide murders as well.
  15. Of course, but that wasn't the reason for my reply.
  16. Yes, I did. Although drugs were everywhere when I was 18 and I was considered square not to partake, I was aware that the source of "party drugs" was unknown and the safety of those drugs was suspect. But it seems that you realise that you were an outlier, so presumably you do know that most 18 years olds don't realise the risks, or think it won't happen to them. (Which with ecstasy, they're kind of statistically correct if it's a one time thing.)
  17. You obviously have no clue what mdma\ecstacy or does so you may want to check your research before posting nonsense He means that the feeling isn't "false" because the drugs causes the same "pleasure response" in the brain as doing something pleasurable does. Thee feeling isn't "false" so much as "artificially stimulated". With the analogy with paracetamol, he's saying that also generates a real feeling of pain relief, even if it doesn't stop the thing that causes pain so much as interrupt the pain signals. So again, it isn't false, but it is artificially brought about.
  18. Sure, but if there was something wrong, you would think there would be more than one person affected. More likely she had an adverse reaction but there was nothing "wrong" with the pill.
  19. I'm a little confused, as Thai people very much like to sit down and eat together. They also like to take time to cook together as well. Even at work they will cook and eat together. Thai people have sit down meals at restaurants more than probably anywhere else I have seen people eat. Most restaurants I walk past are packed every night with large groups of Thais.
