I can understand why they do it, as the jump itself is painless and after that, they have no chance to back out. (Since one element of suicide is overcoming the survival instinct.) There was a trend of people using chemicals and sealing themselves into bathrooms with notes on the door. Maybe gassing in the car. Jumping just seems so messy. And what if they hit someone else? It seems that it is more about holding them than declaring them and apparently they were "on public record throughout his time as an MP from 2019 up to this year", so failure to declare doesn't appear to really come into it. Apparently he has been temporarily suspended. Interestingly, he could still have been considered for PM, but was not renominated. (Personally, I hope he is at least allowed to return as an MP.) Hardly. Just being accurate. One is the case of a politician not declaring their assets, the other is of a politician holding shares that he is not allowed to, having declared them. Completely different.
