  1. Probably the guy was crazy and wanted to hurt someone, maybe a non-Thai. (Can Thais spot a Japanese person?) Or he asked for money and the guy refused, which then lit a fuse.
  2. Just a simple reduced premium based on power and number of amulets, surely?
  3. How could it be if they aren't letting people actually get high? What could they possibly see as the benefit or draw?
  4. Yeah, the whole travelling on their own passports, allowing themselves to be filmed on CCTV, etc., all seemed a bit amateurish.
  5. This may be true in some circles, but there is far more demonetisation of the native population (White people) politically in most Western countries. I don't think the same could be said for Thailand.
  6. And when the headline is "Foreign man does this and that"? I don't remember seeing you ever complain about that. Strange... ????
  7. It's called "I'm alright Jack, pull the ladder up". He was no doubt absolutely fine with getting back to back tourist visas for non-tourist purposes when he needed them, but, now he's on a more permanent visa, all this riffraff are abusing the system and shouldn't be allowed into the country.
  8. I think they're kind of indoctrinated from a young age to accept poor treatment. Do you remember the article about an ex-prostitute who regretted giving the money she earnt from foreign clients to Thai men, rather than settling down with a foreign guy? You can also see that girls are raised differently in terms of behaviour and young people even today have the attitude of "that's just what men are like".
  9. News is entertainment designed to make money. The moment Thai people become interested in road safety, you'll see it all over the news all day.
  10. Or just put the rice on so you can eat dinner together when your wife gets home from a hard day chopping sugar cane. I wonder if the guy even works...
  11. I don't think missing out on the above will leave anyone culturally starved. Barely even peckish.
  12. A lot of Thais have had Sinovac. This was not particularly effective against the previous variant and less so against Omicron. The Thais that had Sinovac really need a booster.
  13. I saw a figure of 95% of those with covid not needing any treatment. That must be the cases that are known. Add to that asymptomatic and mild cases that are not reported and you must get a figure in the very high 90s. Whilst we should not let our guard down too much and keep vulnerable people safe, JFC if now isn't the time to get your booster and open up, when is?!! "Zero covid" is going to finish this country off.
  14. I wonder if the issue it the quality of the initial vaccines. Booster are only at 30%. Who knows how much actual protection there is in Thailand.
  15. "Exemption from quarantine" While many countries are moving to zero restrictions, Thailand is still talking like it's a privilege to not spend two weeks in quarantine.
  16. Obviously I cannot dispute the accuracy of the facts in the posts of the user you are quoting. I don't know them personally. But I will say that their posts are definitely a bit "out there".
  17. Not sure if I'd class one of their services not being completely inoperable for a change as being "highly efficient". Perhaps the bar has sunk somewhat for you.
  18. Well, if two hit men were able to come to Thailand, acquire two pistols, stalk and kill a known criminal, then escape, the facts don't really support this claim.
  19. Open the country up before it's too late. Obviously the lack of tourism is going to be a big factor here as the money spent in the tourist areas feeds out to the rest of the country. You can't allow a country to grow to a certain population size and then remove a fifth of its income without drastic consequences. Stop dilly dallying, let the foreign booze bags and whore mongers back in, and watch these problems go away. I realise the higher ups don't like the reputation Thailand has, but without providing a new revenue stream they can either let the tourists back in or watch their people starve. Three meals away from revolution, etc..
  20. Big demand for magic money trees in Thailand. Reliance on tourism backed subsidies for too long?
