“Even though the owner is not pressing charges, we are investigating the incident and looking for the suspects. Such incidents give a bad reputation to Phuket, especially if foreigners are involved. We hope to apprehend them soon,” Maj Korapol added.

    these bloody farangs lol.....

er maj korapol,to tell you the truth I think the police give more of a bad reputation to Phuket more than a petty thief.

Its sad.. Seen a good mate get ripped off by a nasty mental midget of a missus, she did stick with him when he was on the bones of his arse so he thought she was in all the way.. When his luck turned he spent big 10 - 15 mil build house, cars etc.. She kicked him out but a lawyer got 50% and a quick sale meant he got some back.. she blew hers in short order before finding the next fool..  Another had the usual drunk, yaba gambling issues, house got mortgaged while he was away, had to walk away from the lot..

Its nuts how fast they blow through it, and how often they manage to find another fresh of the plane numpty to repeat it.. I mean how many western life savings should you need here ??

There's a saying, how do you make a small fortune in Thailand, answer bring a big one.they have never had money to control and when they get it big time they can't handle it.same same many lotto winners around the world.

  3. When you buy and die, don't expect the wife to wait to wait and sell the 5 million.they go straight out and borrow what they can and just let it go to the loan sharks, banks for silly money.probably 1 million in this case.easy come easy go.as soon as a farang dies the property is put up for grabs at great losses in most cases.ive been offered property like this before.i can picture the scene.man dies, wife says don't worry mum we can borrow a million to keep up the life style and I'll pop off to the ponds of Pattaya- Phuket and go fishing for another big one but when she gets there she finds out the ponds have dried up.

There are people where i live sat around the pool all day- they haven't even made it to the beach and its within earshot. Don't know why they bothered!

Well matey.to tell you the facts.some people want to sit around a pool as it's more convenient, safer, private, there's many reasons why some don't go to the beach.as for you saying 'don't know why they bothered' I presume you mean don't know why they bothered coming on holiday because they sat around the pool instead of sitting on a beach.i think your idea of a holiday is all tourist must go to the beach.now go and sit in a dark corner and think.

Take a look at all of the tourists on the beaches in Phuket. Nearly every one of them has a smartphone, and is using Facebook, Line, Skype, etc when not taking selfies.

Yes they are using Internet already with their devices on the beaches.so why spend 240 million baht on wifi? If you need Internet in a country that bad the thing to do is get a sim deal.199 baht a month or a few euros in the med.its a sad addiction spending your life glued to a computer or phone.

I live in Kata and take my notebook to the beach most days.  There is a seven hour time difference between here and the UK so I use my computer to skype/e-mail/sms in the afternoon.  therefore I do not wake people up in the middle of the night in the UK.

Cannot use a smart phone - I only have a dumb phone, so the free wi-fi hotspots will be much cheaper than the mobile wi-fi I use at the moment.

One to call 199 baht a month,3-4g unlimited use,not much of a big deal really especially if you can afford to live in kata as I did for many years.240,000 baht for a router that comes free with installation? There's going to be a few new Mercedes running around phuket soon.the money would of been better spent on life guards and maybe some cctv on the death trap shores of Phuket.

The big deal here is many need this ferry to fail to feel better about themselves. Maybe it isn't viable or won't work, however the amount of people seemingly hoping it will fail is somewhat disturbing. If they did announce a plan for high speed rail from Bangkok to Pattaya it would also receive the same negative views and people would be gleeful at every problem it had along the way to being developed.

Many people here seem to hope their negative views turn out to be right rather than being wrong and having nice things.

I would be curious to see what people who have taken the trip think and if they have any sort of food or beverage service. I wouldn't expect full meals but maybe some sort of snacks. 2.5 hours is longer than they estimated but still quite acceptable.  I think it has a chance of the experience is substantially better than a mini van. If they just pack you in and it has the atmosphere of flying on Air Asia I can't see it being successful.

If they make it a fun time and you can have some beer and go on the deck and take pictures and enjoy the sea breeze it could be a nice trip.

I not knocking the ferry service,I hope it turns out successful.its the pm and the publicity around it.

Bloody  things all need eradicating, Im sure many accidents are  caused by these rat arsed  things, "we  love dogs" Thai people are a  joke, let them wander the sreets, crap everywhere, howl at  night and really not taken care of at all, the food  the morons  put out  on the street for them is eaten by rats and flying rats .... pigeons ( notice the population of the pigeons now  has gone beserk)........LAZY thats what the owners are nothing more  nothing less, round them ALL up and destroy them.........preferably with the owners too

No one owns a dog if it attacks you but if you kick or kill a dog 6 owners will come out of nowhere demanding large sums of money.

  9. I would like to hear tv member geriatrickids views on this story after posting how he gives bags of cash to charities to keep these wild animals on the streets.also preaching how he prefers dogs to humans.tell that to this poor mans family.as I've said before I like and kept animals in the past but wild, diseased vicious soi dogs that have a rotten life of neglect, ill treatment and starvation need to be slaughtered.

How can a stray vicious dangerous dogs life be worth 2 years and 40,000b.hes probably done the community and the dog a favour.i had a pack of nearly 20 at the end of my soi this week engaged in a massive orgy.god know how many there's going to be here in a few months.

I've been keeping an eye on the end of my soi.i could swear they were eating one of their own tonight.the carcus had steam coming off it.

Yes, it does look like you chaps in Udon got the big gong this time around. We'll have to wait and see how you do in the 'cup' at Songkran.

Tonight we all jump on our scooters and go down to bar and get very drunk and celebrate we win.then we all race home when dark with no lights...now we have around 130 days of crazy driving until song Kram then 7 days super mau mental driving.up here we practice everyday.

  12. That's nice only 2 deaths on probably the worst race track in Thailand with the biggest amount of pissed up people.if they had said 20 I would believe it.TAT will now be blaring out Phuket is the safest place to holiday.they can't even cook the books properly.its about as truthful as Thailand having 1% unemployment.

If you use the word " animal " as an insult , I' d say that quite a few posters on TV are animals themselves ...

Far too many people on this planet destroying nature , polluting rivers and the oceans , being greedy , never enough money ... Dogs do not do that , at least they live according to their natural behaviour , it;s people who are irresponsibel and destructive . As for your kids who might be bitten by a soi dog , take care for them , look after them that they do not make anything stupid , it is your resposability as you made them .

Obviously you don't live in a nice home, nice country road, close to a nice village that has packs of up to 20 dogs.the road to the village has a dog every 30mtetres and half of them go to attack but I outrun them on my scooter.i wouldn't like to come across them on foot.i feel like the place is surrounded by hyenas.dog crap all over the front lawn, woken up at 4.30 in the morning to the sound of howling and dogs fighting.if I had a young child it would be like a prisoner with the streets as a no go area and why? The only thing these wild animals do is destruction ans cause misery to a lot of people's lives.
