The apps that I am talking about are all to entertain or make the general experience easier, in the case of the charging apps, nothing to do with safety. -

BYD Seal tips, tricks and help

Thanks for clarifying this. As you might remember I had my Seal downgraded to side load some apps including GBox, YouTube, YouTube Music, Google Maps, Google and Brave browser. This all worked well and I had the benefit of using Google Maps in portrait mode as is not using Apple CarPlay, YouTube Music is also a pleasant change from Spotify. I used YouTube occasionally while charging but some time ago it stopped working ( although I could still use it if opened via a browser) as if it needed updating. The GBox app also changed, my list of recommended apps disappeared along with the search function ( magnifying glass icon ), I assumed i had caused this while searching for an app but now see from your photo my version is old, I see no way to update the GBox app. The installed apps all work so presumably my version of GBox needs updating. The charging apps ( Charge Loma, PlugShare and PEA Volta ) would all open and recognise me as logged in but the map wouldn’t open would be interested to see if they work now with a more local SIM ? Am due my one year service next week so hopefully will get the SIM and version upgrade. -
Electric Vehicles in Thailand

Do you mean the BYD Seagull ( called the Dolphin Mini in some markets ) ? In which case I don’t know, maybe the Motor Show will shed some light on this although the focus will be on Sealion 07 . Seems like it has been talked about for a while already but who knows maybe it will come, same for the Shark pickup, seems like Thailand has a market for both. -
So you are saying if you returned to the U.K. with the intention of staying then simply change your mind after 1 year your pension would be frozen at the rate you next left the U.K.? So its all about declaring you are going to stay but then not staying and you will get the newer frozen rate ? Anything to back this up ??
-
This is the big question. Some might be considering suffering the U.K. for 185 days in order to achieve a more recent frozen rate of pension but is 185 days sufficient ? Maybe a full year cycle of the higher pension rate staying in the U.K. is required or even 2 years …… who knows ? …… obviously I don’t !

I don’t think it is necessary to print out the 90 day receipt to put in your passport. I was at immigration for extension yesterday and the IO asked about 90 days, i just showed her the receipt of notification photo on my phone and she was happy. Was going to ask her when they are going to connect in person with online reporting but decided against it !! Seems ridiculous to me, you have to report every 90 days in country but the IO has to ask me if i have done it …… that info should be on the screen in front of her !! …….. okay, let’s not go there !

Blimey, hope it doesn’t come to that. Am trying the bicarbonate of soda and vinegar/ boiling water method right now but with 2 teenagers using the bathroom it is not easy to maintain a routine.
-
Thanks, yes that is what i am in the process of doing, too early to say if working but i have my fingers, and toes, crossed.

While that thread does indeed state fruit flies in the title it then goes on to determine that the op is talking about drain flies. Mine are definitely bathroom based.
-
Actually just found a thread from a couple of years ago and it appears bicarbonate of soda ( also known as baking soda apparently ) and vinegar is the way to go !! Will report back.

I had a colonoscopy some years ago and this was the procedure only I took the whole thing ( 1 1/2 litres of water on a laxative powder ) in the morning. The reaction was very quick and i don’t think having half the evening before would have worked for me, the words “ eye “ and “ needle “ spring to mind !!
-
Think I am going to funnel some bicarbonate of soda ( need to buy more ) down each drain and follow it up with some boiling water .
-
Thanks, I am in a single storey house. Last night I put some bicarbonate of soda down what I think is the offending drain and poured some Toilet Duck on top which formed a lovely, hopefully lethal, bubbly cocktail !! This morning poured some boiling water down both drains in the boy’s bathroom. Only half a dozen present this morning but i have noticed as the day heats up they appear more, will see what happens later on.
-
Yes, believe me i have searched under the sink and in every corner of the room but behind the toilet is the only place i don’t have good access to that’s why i was hoping to discover, via this thread, a spray that is good for these little blighters !!
-
Okay, thanks, will try that now.
-
Yes, each shower has a water seal and another drain in each room has a seal also, I keep them topped up as know the water evaporates quickly. No smells.

So, as the title suggests am having a drain fly problem. Have had this before ( maybe a couple of times over 6 years) but cured it with small moth balls and bleach down shower and bathroom drains, in the basin overflow and using a mosquito spray. But this time it is persistent. 3 bathrooms: 1 and 2 have similar usage, 3 is toilet and basin only. 1 and 3 have pretty much zero flies but number 2 is inundated. Have cleaned down the walls with bleach and done the above procedure but a week now and no progress. No obvious signs of access, small window with mosquito net, 2 x drains with the typical Thai shallow trap ( topped up frequently with Haiter ). To get the picture, this morning at 6.30 am had zero flies, at 10.30 am zapped around 10 but just now ( 6.00 pm ) zapped 165 flies, no activity in the bathroom since 6.30 am when the boy showered. While it is quite pleasant zapping these flies with the electronic tennis racket it is wearing a little thin now. Anyone any miracle cure or homemade poison that will cure me of this curse ??

Compared to the Seal the range is well down with same PS, Nm and battery size, also 0-100 slower, wonder what the contributing factor for this, drag coefficient maybe or total weight ? -
