Generally any machine accepting banknotes in Thailand requires firmware from Bank of Thailand. Which is why it sometimes takes a long time for CDM machines or vending machines to accept new banknotes. Most vendors wait for official firmware as that's the only way that BOT will be responsible if a fake banknote is accepted. If you make your own software, and something like this happens, you're on your own to cover the losses.
Most people also don't know that majority of recent (past 20 years) colour printers print a yellow dot pattern inside the image which contains printer's serial number.
are these just on laser printers, or on standard inkjet printers too ?

Thailand is relatively rich compared to some of its neighbours. But so what? Compared to the G20 it is not.
Of course, if you did some rudimentary research rather than spouting ill informed anti-Thai sentiment, you might discover that Thailand partnered with AZ to produce their vaccine here - n agreement made quite some time ago. Forsight and planning by Thais? Shorely not. Must have been brown envelopes, right?
Given that most of this and neighbouring countries do not have extensive VERY deep freezer availability to be able to use the Pfizer vaccine, waiting for the AZ one (which has just been approved in UK BTW) might just have been a sensible and farsighted decision. But I doubt the Thai knockers will acknowledge that; will you?
PH
thanks for this
research
you mean the signing of the agreement in November, but will take until March before putting into operation making the public wait for the vaccine while this so called deadly virus rages through Thailand
Why is this anti Thai sentiment ? is it not fact ?
Are you saying that such a progressive's and far reaching country like Thailand is incapable of manufacturing or purchasing deep freezers, as per other countries, which if they had the Foresight to do so, could now be carrying out the vaccinations this country needs, while awaiting the new vaccine next year
Knocking them, noooo , wouldn't dream of it
But i think the brown envelopes will have a say in what happens next

This is really not true, there are a handful of cases where people supposedly got ill twice, it probably meant they did not have enough of an immune response from 1st round, but as I said, exceedingly rare
but how many infected people would it take to re start a pandemic ? 1, 5, 50, ?
how will they know what the life of the vaccinations is, unless they either get sick, or they keep testing every person ?\
And how long to vaccinate a population of over 66 million, not once, but twice ?, but then possibly withing the year, to do so again ?

Not sure what is the most stupid, the poster saying this, or me actually trying it
And yes, it will copy very nicely thank you
Anyone know where to get the correct paper . lol

So in the end, it was not the tourists that brought it in but Thai jumping the quarantine.
Funny as hell... almost wan to cry...
it seems that Thais do not need to be tested prior to travelling on a plane, unlike any other passenger
Seems to make a mockery of the testing and paperwork the farangs have to go through , who then can be given the virus by the Thais while travelling

Just 28 more to go - 73 Provinces in total!!
How do they know its not in every province ?
How do they know how many infected people there are ?
They only know, for the majority of people, if they test them, with the very few people actually showing symptoms, with even fewer people dying
Keep testing and the numbers go up, as it would with testing for the flu, but it seems that has little bearing on the number of deaths, which at the moment is still less than 1 in a million

..i for one will not 'mark your words', as i doubt very much that your are virologist...its not about the deaths but more of the debilitating resulting conditions the sufferers have to bear.
while i agree with your post about the covid giving debilitating conditions, but surely this condition is not confined just to Covid, is it ?
im guessing there are many other illnesses and diseases that give these conditions too,, heart attacks, strokes, cancer, etc, yet we only ever seem to mention the Covid one.

It has? You might like to tell that to the US where, at current vaccine aplication rate the populatoo will all be vaccinated by some time in 2030.
But Thailand (and other non-First world countries) might have a better chance of early vaccine if the rich west had not bought up pretty much all of the early production.
PH
But i thought Thailand was a rich Asian country ?
or maybe they took too long trying to work out the brown envelopes first
Im sure china would have sold them a vaccine if they asked nicely

What is missing in my view is a total ban on travelling from one province to another. If this is not done, we are going to have situations like in the US or Europe. I believe that if such a ban and other measures like a nationwide closure of entertainment venues, possibly a night curfew and similar steps, are not imposed , we are going to have a strict nationwide total lock up, before too long.
confused
if we have a total ban on travelling, this will stop the infections spreading to other areas
But, what happens to the people who stop travelling, do they suddenly become free of the virus ?
if you lock down the areas, you contain the virus within that area, so why does the death rate not increase in these areas ?
So the "deadly" virus will not get you in the shopping malls, takeaways, government offices, etc, but will kill you in a bar or restaurant ?
And how do they arrive at these "magic" figures of 18,000, when they have no idea how many people carry the infection ?
and with a death rate of 1 in a million, surely that' better odds than crossing a road or driving a car, all of which we do without any fear

You should rightly have 3 forms stapled in the back of your Passport.
1). TM6 Departure card.
2). Receipt of TM30.
3). Receipt of 90 day reporting.
TM30-New.pdf 414.78 kB · 7 downloads
You should have the notification receipt for filing the above form.
If you haven't, then you need to file one as Immigration have requested.
thanks
Yes i have these 3 forms in my passport

That seems to be TM47 receipt for a 90 day report. A TM30 report receipt does not have return date on it.
sorry ubonjoe
My mistake
i also have a receipt dated 7th August which has been filled out by I.O with my name, address o it with stamp in the corner
Receipt of Notification
I guess that is the correct one ?

Then you should have the TM30 receipt dated November stapled in your Passport.
That's your proof you've filed a TM30 at your local IO since obtaining your extension in Pattaya.
Yup
i have the receipt in my passport dated 3 Nov 20, with return visit to be 31st Jan 21

Are you saying that locking down the towns and villages resulted in the death of 80% of the population?
In some of the villages ( Eyam) , yes with many abandoned due to so few being able to work the land or survive
Are you saying this is going to happen here with this "deadly" virus ?
If not, why ?
If its so deadly and infectious, how will preventing pople from travelling prevent further infections in that community and why do deaths not increase in these areas ?
I know it will prevent the spread to ther areas, most of which we, and the goverment have no idea how many infections there are in these areas , all we see, as per other countries, is increased infection counts, due to increased testing, but no comparable increase in deaths

HI, WHEN did you notify Pattaya IO that your relocated? If you did that BEFORE June 30, the new regulation re TM-30 was not yet applicable, and then effectively you were still required to notify IO of you returning to your place of residence. However, if you did provide Pattaya IO with your TM-30 as proof of relocation to your new address after 30 June, there is no need anymore to do so (as long as you stay on the same Visa or extension). And if you did indeed file a TM-30 after June 30 with your new address and they they ask for it now, there must be some hiccup in their administration.
Thanks Peter
Had been to Uk for a few weeks before returning to Thailand, then to Pattaya
Pattaya was end of March 2020, then came back here, did 14 days quarantine in house, then went to local I O office to do TM30, due to leaving/returning back into country
Then did my 90 day report in August, no bother, then did my 90 day in November, which they then insisted on a TM30, due to getting visa in Pattaya in March, even though i had given them one in April
Did this, then 3 weeks ago, gave all details on house book, etc, so i could get a certificate of residency from them to allow me to renew my bike licence
They then lost the paperwork from the Land office, which i had to replace, and in the office, they again went through my passport and paperwork
Seems to be a lot of hiccups in the office,

school call us today to pick up our child at noon , suspicion of covid in khon kaen province ????
Have they tested the children , or have they sent them home, possibly carrying the virus to the towns and villages ?
If they dont test, how can they know how many, if any, have the virus and are passing it on ?
do they think the virus stops spreading just because you send them home ?
Anyone learn about the Black Death, the plague that killed so many in England ?
They locked down their towns and villages to stop the spread of the virus, with the result, up to 80% of the population died.
Why is this "deadly: virus not doing the same ?

Senior scientist son is isolating his kids (my grandkids) in PA because he thinks a minor Covid infection in anybody could turn into latent disease, like herpes or HepC, which could be reactivated at any time during the person's life for unknown reasons, say stress, for example. In adults, he speculates recovered Covid infectees might not really be recovered but harbouring a hidden kill switch.
Not to mention long-haul Covid symptoms making life hell, potentially forever. Better safe than sorry.
Mortality (look, just 60!) is a poor marker for suffering. Shut the damn schools until we know how far this has spread.
The countries which reopened have cases out of control now. Do we want to join them?
And we know exactly where to lay the blame this time: on the greedy fatcats who wanted Burmese slave labour & didn't want to pay for their quarantine. And any Thai official who looked the other way.
I count 34 provinces, plus Bangkok with Covid+ so far. [Ang Thong, Ayutthaya, Chachoengsao, Chai Nat, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Chonburi, Kamphaeng Phet, Kanchanaburi, Khon Kaen, Krabi, Nakhon Pathom, Nakhon Ratchasima, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, Phayao, Petchabun, Petchaburi, Phuket, Pitsanalok, Pichit, Prachinburi, Prachuab Khiri Khan, Ratchaburi, Samut Prakan, Samut Sakhon, Samut Songkhram, Saraburi, Singburi, Surat Thani, Tak, Suphanburi, Udon Thani, Uttaradit plus Bangkok]. Please add to this list if you know of others.
Let's put it another way: Do you feel safe shopping at Makro, Tops, Villa, taking BTS & MRT today??? Not me...
yup, i feel safe shopping at most places
how will you know how far this has spread, unless you test each and every one ?
Considering over 97% of people are unaffected by this "deadly" virus, and only know they have it if they get tested, which itself has a poor record of accurate results, its not exactly life threatening for the majority of the population
closing down places, creating lockdowns, will prevent the spread from those areas to others, but will not prevent the spread inside those areas will it ? so if you lock down, say Bangkok, then the spreading of the virus must continue, and if so deadly, then deaths must follow., or do you think the virus knows not to infect anyone after the government calls a lockdown ?

I'm confused why the IO would even call about an outstanding TM30 report unless something else is being processed that needs it? Perhaps the proof of address cert you mention is reason?
thanks Hamus
but they already have proof of address, took that down , again, on Wednesday for my licence, all checked and passed this rime
but if your confused, how do you think i feel, lol

The best explanation i could come up with is that they might interpret "within the valid period" as being from the day you did the TM30 until the end of your permission to stay back then, and they don't consider getting an extension as extending this "valid period" as well. Thus they would want a new TM30 after you got an extension and stayed somewhere else. When you go back to your IO demand an explanation as to why it is required and share it with us ????
not sure what you mean want a new TM30 after extension ? which extension my 90 days ?
they got a TM30 after i renewed my annual visa , but only when i went to submit my 90 day report, so you think i should have done 2 TM 30s
one straight after return from Pattaya with visa, and one when i did 90 day report ?
But if i stayed in hotel in Patttaya, during visa renewal, would i still need to do a TM30 ?
And why the TM30 request after having short break in hotel in Bangkok ?
Maybe i should buy some cheap medals off E bay and wear them in immigration like my friend did. He gets visa in Pattaya, but has never done a TM30, nor ever filled in any paperwork photos, house book, etc , in all the years he has lived here
We both went for 90 day report, he got his with no papers no bother, i got sent away and told to return with TM30 !
Very confused with this

that was my understanding too
i remember reading on the immigration site that they had stopped this requirement
I accept i had to do one for change of address when i got my annual visa renewal in Pattaya, then returned here, which i did, even though i again, stayed in a hotel, but it seems they cannot, or will not find it, just like the paperwork they "lost" for my licence renewal
I gets harder and harder, with every visit, to treat them with any respect, when they act like this

Very odd.....we don't live at our registered address....we just move around in hotels or rent somewhere......and we have never done a TM30 for any of the places we have stayed.....not my responsibility.
exactly !
Just spoke to my missus who talked on the phone and she repeated it was because we stayed in Bangkok, and they said it was on their computer so we need to do TM30
No mention of us staying in hotels in Kho Chang, and Pattaya, before going to Bangkok
But i thought it was up to the hotels to notify immigration of stay, with no need for change of address for temporary stays
But to tell us we have to do change of address from Pattaya, which i have already done in June is stupid too
Will be an interesting conversation when i go to I.O , but then they hate me asking why, when i say i don't understand something

It seems the problem was what you did in Pattaya. Did you a 90 day non immigrant visa entry or a extension of stay there since that would of been a change of your registered address.
A stay at a hotel and etc does not change your address.
I did an extension of retirement visa in Pattaya
But then i did a change of address here, TM30, before i got my 90 day
But they want both TM30s apparently, one for stay in Bangkok, and one for returning from Pattaya
