  1. Nice wheels - they look strong enough for the heavy car. Do you know the wheel width of the original rims?
  2. Proper shoes: This size should have been an option form the factory, or if not 20", I would take 'em in 19" too. The skinny tires on the seal are borderline dangerous. The guys is using 8.5 x 20, with +40 offset. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/X9X8LSt7UZ2KGsPE/
  3. I am sure the battery is not dead - the car is in deep sleep and needs to be woken up, that's all. https://youtu.be/dn5K2YIpa-c?si=lwSjD-uK6hgi2jso
  4. I made a habit of not replying to people that have reading comprehension problems - but then it occurred to me, that there is a also the possibility something got lost in translation, so I give you the benefit of the doubt: The 'FB poster' I linked to was the individual that was interviewed by Nikkei Asia, and misquoted - so that makes him a very credible source to comment on the misinformation spread by Nikkei Asia. If you want to rant about the 'truth', it is critical to get your ducks in a row, throwing around derogatory terms is not supporting truth........better leave that to the politicians. On second thought, maybe I should be proud to be labeled 'EV woke' - it makes this old fart look like I am still trailblazing, instead of being stuck in the 60's when I, too, was happily tottering around in modified ICE contraptions, making loud manly sounds, sucking clean air through four-barrel carburetors and blasting lead poisoned exhaust fumes into the pristine landscape.
  5. I jumped off the FB page of the 'EV Club Thailand' to get to this..... I hope the below link works: https://www.facebook.com/jkrisda/posts/pfbid02ECdgMSvcaqRmqRmJegGSAAvtAGTnRwWKNUunRiYXBHsTAKQu7MqcdukS2J9AhRFvl or directly to the EVAT FB page: https://www.facebook.com/EVAT2015
  6. Nikkei Asia is jumping on the bandwagon of China EV bashing with a very low rent hit piece that is full of fake news - to wit, they claim there are 490,000 unsold Chines EVs in Thailand, which is basically forcing the Japanese car manufacturers to shut down their factories here. From Electric Vehicle Association of Thailand - EVAT: 'Been in the auto industry for over 23 years, countless interviews in the media, but never has the information been so distorted by Nikkei news. “Thailand now has 490,000 unsold EVs, according to the Electric Vehicle Association of Thailand (EVAT), equivalent to 63% of all vehicles the country turned out in the past 12 months.“ I want to clarify that the above information is not from me and the Thai Electric Motor Association สมาคมยานยนต์ไฟฟ้าไทย Electric Vehicle Association of Thailand - EVAT The number of 490,000 cars. I'm referring to the production capacity forecast of 7 electric car companies that enter EV 3.0 and it has nothing to do with the unsold electric car numbers. But NIKEI News Agency provides information that distorts reality differently. Note: Last year, Thailand registered electric cars for the whole year about 76,000 cars and electric car registrations accumulated at the end of May. 2567 around 121,000 cars. How can we have more than 490,000 electric cars stock?' https://asia.nikkei.com/Business/Automobiles/Electric-vehicles/Thai-subsidies-for-Chinese-EV-makers-wreak-havoc-on-auto-sector edit: It appears Nikkei Asia just modified their original (dated July 26) and removed the 490,000 unsold EVs......... took them 2 days, their intentions seems obvious!
  7. Kamala will win - not because she is competent or the best choice, but because her opponent is even less electable...... what a <deleted>e show we see every 4 years in the US of A.
  8. Does anybody want to be the guinea pig for this?
  9. If you can get one of those steep discounts that BYD offers on new 2023 Atto 3 models, you cant go wrong, that is an amazing deal. As for the battery - it should be possible to get a SOH reading done by the dealer for the specific car you select. I don't think there will be much deterioration to be expected if the car was stored at the recommended 30 - 80% SOC.
  10. BYD, LFP battery, approx. 157k km with SOH of 91% after almost 2 years is very impressive. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/XCPSexhQrEZAMmF4/
  11. That was not my question.......... you know that modern cars have service reminders in the OBC? That is what I was referring to - and by extension, whether BYD would via OTA change the service minder to a different interval - but never mind, you answered my question.
  12. What does it say on the service screen in your car? I just checked my car, and the service interval is still set to 12 month or 5,000km (total of 10,000) which is coming up fast. I will check with the dealer to be sure what is actually correct.
  13. One possible solution for the scarcity of charging point in LOS..........? Albeit, not quite fair if the protagonist is a 45 kg female....... 😇
  14. well......well....well - OTA V1.2.1 is already coming down - the update pace is picking up 😜
  15. Indeed - I wonder whether this on is for real...... '[].....and offer a panoramic sunroof with an electric sunshade.'
  16. The rear view mirror was one of my early gripes - why not a frame-less mirror? Well - turns out, they are all frame-less, just takes a small tug and a twist....... looks so much better!
  17. This idea looks better by the minute...... the question is, will supply outstrip demand and prices will drop further? My problem is - I have a Huawei inverter and they don't lend themselves for this application, just their own batteries, and they sell them for gadzillions $$$ - a total of 100 kWh between the two retired car batteries in this installation.
  18. Do I read this correctly that from 2 to 5 in the morning I could charge my battery from the grid @ 20.24p, and from 16 to 19 hours I could sell it back to the power company @ 38.03p? Quite some arbitrage in that pair.........😂
  19. It is true, stuff like this happens always in the most inopportune moments: https://youtu.be/dn5K2YIpa-c?si=7OGFS6cak4pOS0EH
  20. The ozone layer is crucial for life on Earth due to its role in protecting the planet from harmful ultraviolet ( UV-B and UV-C ) radiation from the sun.
  21. My office is a little less than 40 sqm, and I spend 80% of the time I am home in that small 'room' and don't have claustrophobia. I consider that to be 'living' as much as those farangs that spend the whole day in their favored pub nursing on a big Leo........ 🤪
  22. Its a win for the customers that are buying right now - but I have to hand it to you, your purchase of NVDA a 8 months ago was a good financial decision...........just in case you did not buy NVDA a year ago, you made a poor financial decision and must now be one of the big time FOMO losers. I take it you were equally ecstatic when Tesla dropped prices....... yes?
  23. The BYD Dolphin special campaign is already done.......sold out. Next batch will be Thai made. There seem to be a lot of 'idiots' out there that have not gotten the memo about EVs being total rubbish and only ICE makes the (Oil) owners happy..........lol
  24. Just be sure the motherboard is TPM enabled or you cant run WIN 11. Not that I recommend or endorse WIN 11, but because you mentioned that route.
  25. The auto 'expert' out for click-bait again.......lol I didn't listen to, or read the whole story in its entirety - but but the gist of it is this cool family drove a BYD for 15 month, put 12,000 km on it and then wanted their money back? or is it all just a scam so they could be in the news? and their story milked as click-bait by more idiots for some YT $$? I am not defending BYD how or if they (mis)handled(?) this case, they probably could have responded better, but if anything it goes to show that any glitch in an EV is gobbled up with alacrity by some ideologists. One commenter sums it up succinctly: Unless BYD were refusing to replace the battery, this seems like a beatup. Did I miss something? The idea of full refunds under warranty is practically unheard of in almost any retail experience. This failure sounds unfortunate but not unusual that a car broke down under warranty.
