  1. …or return to your homeland and bring back cash when required. The cash stays out of your Thai bank allowing you to avoid paying any tax; and live in Thailand for more than 180 days per year.
  2. Yet another good reason to use an agent and not leave 800k in some Thai bank account doing FA.
  3. As a single guy in central Bangkok and here for the beautiful girls (with respectful jobs) and travelling, I would be devastated without my car. Having one enables me to visit existing and potentially new girlfriends whenever I want, wherever in Thailand they live. Also gives me the freedom and convenience to visit the many different, amazing locations around the country. Also handy to throw the bicycle in the back when exploring the islands.
  4. Cheaper to fly to Australia and bring them back. Cost for (large) strawberries 🍓 there is only 20 baht per 250g punnets. Thank me later!
  5. I just completed this quiz. My Score 0/100 My Time 55 seconds
  6. Same here. Never been a problem using my card to pay for others to fly within or out of Thailand - for the past 7 years (3 x international return & 6 x domestic return this year alone). Obviously a wind-up.
  7. What is her profession? Is she a doctor? If so, select Dr not miss.
  8. ^ yep, travel insurance. Yes, 90 days per overseas trip, so 4 trips back to Aus each year (no more 90 day reports, each trip home paid-for by pension supplement reactivation).
  9. I get free health insurance from my AU credit card, up until the age of 86.
  10. Optus’ national phone and internet outage in late 2023 and currency fluctuations have been blamed for falling profits at telecommunications group Singtel, which disclosed the fiasco cost it $61 million. https://www.afr.com/companies/telecommunications/optus-outage-cost-61m-parent-singtel-reveals-20240223-p5f7ac
  11. Agree 💯
  12. No wrong information was given! The word detention was put inside inverted commas as a tongue-in-cheek way of saying having to go back to do the 2 years to re-establish Oz as your home. And no suggestion whatsoever was made that you cannot have overseas trips during this time.
  13. I see you and your ilk at Cheap Charlie’s as I walk past there to get to the High Rollers bar (and similar). Enjoy your 99 baht meals… livin’ the dream! 🤣
  14. Every time I walk past Cheap Charlies it’s full of lonely, old, miserable, penny-pinching, expat pensioners…kinda like what the average AN poster would look like!
  15. Livin' the dream!
  16. Go to the airport and give the money in cash to a passenger who is en route to Thailand. Remember to give the passenger drop-off instructions. Good luck 🤞
  17. Yes there is. Google is your friend.
  18. That was my plan also… just stay put and do the whole 2 years in Aus, thus eliminating all concerns about how long is allowed overseas during home “detention”.
  19. Do not use their apps, instead use their website preferably from a laptop or PC, not from a phone - with VPN turned on. What message do you get when following those suggestions?
  20. Are you trying on a PC or phone?
  21. Don’t be one of them:
  22. Not in Japan! Off you go. 👋 https://www.sbs.com.au/language/japanese/en/podcast-episode/japanese-fans-are-cleaning-stadiums-and-making-friends-at-the-2023-world-cup/po5g6ukat
  23. It’s also recommended by Drs that swimmers have ear canals cleaned regularly. Get a life, troll.
