  1. Try using their website (not their app) on your laptop/PC (not on your phone) with a VPN. You’re now back under the radar!
  2. He's right. The 60 day visa has ruined the joint.
  3. Why not? The TGF will be with me and she has a highly paid respectable job, as does all of her siblings. They all travel abroad often.
  4. Large amounts? That wasn’t mentioned. Presumes and mights noted.
  5. “Aggressive”?? lol. You’ve incorrectly assumed large amounts.
  6. You are wrong. I will not be exchanging anything. That will be done by my Thai GF and/or her family.
  7. If on the OAP, the pension supplement reactivates upon your arrival back to Aus for 6 weeks, this pays for the flights - which are cheap again. The much better exchange rate (when bringing in your own cash compared to what the financial institutions give you) also helps pay for the air fares.
  8. Fly back to Aus every time you need cash. Bring back the folding stuff, but don't put it in your Thai bank. Instead, keep it under the bed and buy everything in cash. Rinse and repeat when it runs out. Never pay the tax you mention. Just a thought!
  9. Wrong!!! Here's official proof that in ASEAN (and of course everywhere else) pick-ups are categorised as a car - definitely not as a truck - 555 "With regard to the regional best-selling cars ranking and cumulative sales up to May 2024, the leadership is still in the hands of the Toyota Hilux, produced in Thailand, ahead of its competitors with 74,691 units sold (-18.1%), followed closely by the Isuzu D-Max with 53,752 cumulative sales (-30.6%). 10. Thanks mate, I think I will do the same as them. Also, can you or they confirm how many pension supplement payments they receive when returning back to Aus and leaving again soon after? Someone once told me the answer is 6, but not sure if that's 6 payments or 6 weeks: 3 (fortnightly) payments...
  11. Just found out yesterday that if you receive a benefit you are supposed to tell Centrelink if you intend to leave the country, regardless of duration. So immediately went onto the Centrelink app, and yep, they have a section where you enter in your impending overseas details. Wondering if better to pretend I never saw this and let immigration tell them instead...
  12. It maybe 183 days …or it maybe 45 days every 3 years (needed to be in Aus to be considered a resident for tax purposes). If 183 days? Then yes, big problem for many. If 45 days every 3 years? Not as big as a problem for many.
  13. …or return to your homeland and bring back cash when required. The cash stays out of your Thai bank allowing you to avoid paying any tax; and live in Thailand for more than 180 days per year.
  14. Yet another good reason to use an agent and not leave 800k in some Thai bank account doing FA.
  15. As a single guy in central Bangkok and here for the beautiful girls (with respectful jobs) and travelling, I would be devastated without my car. Having one enables me to visit existing and potentially new girlfriends whenever I want, wherever in Thailand they live. Also gives me the freedom and convenience to visit the many different, amazing locations around the country. Also handy to throw the bicycle in the back when exploring the islands.
  16. Cheaper to fly to Australia and bring them back. Cost for (large) strawberries 🍓 there is only 20 baht per 250g punnets. Thank me later!
  17. I just completed this quiz. My Score 0/100 My Time 55 seconds
  18. Same here. Never been a problem using my card to pay for others to fly within or out of Thailand - for the past 7 years (3 x international return & 6 x domestic return this year alone). Obviously a wind-up.
  19. What is her profession? Is she a doctor? If so, select Dr not miss.
  20. ^ yep, travel insurance. Yes, 90 days per overseas trip, so 4 trips back to Aus each year (no more 90 day reports, each trip home paid-for by pension supplement reactivation).
