Your forgetting that the anti-abortion zealots want a federal ban on abortion. They will keep this topic going. Deciding at the state level isn't good enough for them. It would serve them right if they lost everything because they demand complete surrender.

Easy for Thailand to cut its own tariffs on American goods and thus avoid retaliatory US tariffs, isn't it? Why should Thailand get easy access to the US market and give nothing in return? Remember, access to the US market is a benefit the US gives to trusted partners and allies, not countries going over to China and joining BRICS so they can challenge the dollar.

Reciprocal tariffs. What's fair for one is fair for all.

The senate is part of congress. There is no supermajority in the senate or house. There is a veto proof majority, however.

One thing most certainly emerged from this campaign: Trump is the animal friendly candidate. From dogs and cats to squirrels and raccoons, the Democrats were the party of animal death squads, while Trump rushed in to save them. People love their pets. Remember how Bidens' dogs kept biting everybody? Dems are mean to animals.

Trump was lazy in office last time. His days were filled with "executive time," playing golf. He doesn't like the gritty hand to hand politicking required to pass legislation and move his agenda. He did like campaigning, because it charged up his ego. This time around, if he does indeed have the House and Senate in Republican hands, there is no excuse for not getting legislation passed. And I don't mean another one of those tax cuts for billionaires. Issuing Executive Orders only to see them tied up in the courts for years, will get him nothing. Democrats are probably reserving space on court dockets right now.

He will need to face down Mexico immediately, because Mexico has been providing easy access to the US border.

Don't need to do anything sinister to Kavanaugh. They've already frightened him into compliance. And Coney-Barrett was always a single issue (abortion) justice anyway; she'll mostly vote with the liberals from now on.

How many will Trump actually deport? How many will he be able to deport, after the Democrats go to working the courts? What will he do on China? Will he really bring back American industry (if so don't try and reverse the Chips Act) to the US? Or will he end up letting Asian countries slap America around? Need more stick in Asia and a lot fewer carrots. Will he make the Germans pay their fair share on defense? What if there is a state act of terrorism from Russia, Iran, North Korea, or China? Will he confront the aggressor and order a retaliation? Or will he fear escalation?

It's not just about retirement. There are a lot of the elderly on the Supreme Court, and they can suddenly die, as was the case with Scalia.

Even CNN and MSNBC have given in and now say Trump won. I don't think anybody thought the election would be decided this fast and this overwhelmingly. I didn't. I thought Harris would win. The closest thing I can remember to this is the 1980 election, when exit polls gave it to Reagan about 10 minutes after the polls closed.

I remember the riots and rampages from 2016. I expect a repeat. Don't forget the burned cars and wrecked buildings during the inauguration in 2017, too. Antifa and BLM won't go quietly into the night.

Without a doubt, G W Bush was the worst president in history. If there is any single thing to be thankful to Trump for, it was his destruction of the Bush dynasty.

Biden had important policies enacted. None more important than the Chips Act. He blundered going after Elon Musk, opening the border, and letting the Trans activists run wild. Harris would have helped with none of those things. She avoided having a press conference for her entire campaign. She picked the inauthentic and downright goofy Tim Walz as her vp. She appears weak. People want change from the way things are going, and she didn't offer to change anything. BTW, I, too, would like to see a woman as president. I hope it's Tulsi in '28. I've criticized Trump often on this forum. I'll continue to do so, because I don't trust him, and I think he's lazy. What will he actually do with illegal immigration? What will he actually do with China? Will he make Europe pay? Got to see results.
