Get back to BASICS. Start at the beginning and clearly re-define the role of the RTP.

What is the PURPOSE of the RTP?

Have a written VISION and a MISSION statement!

Central to all RTP activities must be the recognition of CORE VALUES.

    • Integrity – displayed through soundness of moral principle, honesty and sincerity.
    • Commitment – characterised by dedication, application, perseverance and a belief in our ability to achieve and add value.
    • Excellence– never-ending search for improvement leads to excellence. Aim for excellence in everything we do.
    • Accountability – ownership of work or results and being answerable for outcomes.
    • Fairness – being impartial and equitable.
    • Trust – having faith and confidence and being able to rely and depend on others.
    • Respect – treating ourselves and all others with consideration.

The General with his 'western' education surely understands that there needs to be a fundamental change in how the RTP operates. Until the RTP (and its political masters) understands and accepts accountability and responsibility the RTP will never earn the respect of the public! I hope the PM gives this man the opportunity to change the RTP to what any decent country's citizens would expect of its internal protectors.

Much more could be said and added. Should I hold my breath? :whistling:

What I find is the major difference

is customer service at Thai Watsadu.

Yes the are the same corporation but staff training must be different.

Staff knowledge of their section, products and of the store in general is amazing. Coming close to western standards.

THEIR customer service is virtually non existant....

I am interested to know how this is going to work. As an applicant will you be required to provide police reports from every country you have ever been in, to show you are not a criminal? I don't see that they have the resources to be able to conduct such international checks on every foreigner here.

So it is either just bullshit to make wrongdoers think twice about applying for visas here, or it is just bullshit to make Thai people think he is actually working. Either way, to me it still sounds like bullshit.

i have been to the Scilly Isles will I have to get report from Hugh Town police ???

Nothing to do with what happened here, better to stick with what's relevant and the facts.

The driver did not indicate to other road users that he intended to take a turn ( by using his indicator) which is what caused the student to hit his car.

This arrogance seems to common amoung many Thai drivers.

they indicate when there IS NO REASON to do so....they get half way past a parked vehicle then put indicator on and PUT HAZZARD warning lights on when wanting to go straight forward at a JUNCTION ....this is NOT WHAT hazzard warning lights are on vehicles for...

It was a perfect candidate for a "roundabout" not that they work here, the trial one on Jomtien 2nd and wat boon junction has been removed and the one at North Pattaya crippled...emoji20.png:(

they are NOT taught how TO USE A ROUNDABOUT in Thailand....traffic lights are now back in operation Jomtien 2nd road/Wat boom....been in use for about 4 weeks

Every day i see a few dozen familys on motorbikes and a few dozen moms with infants in bamboo seats in front of them.

Why even bother with a article like this.

This is just another article that shows how far thailand is behind in road safety.

I am guessing about 30 years from now thais will have similar road safety as to western worlds today.

But in 30 years the west will have high speed guided transport and thailand will have baby car seats and law enforcement .

there IS NO LAW enforcement except in the case of farangs....i have seen as many as 5 on a motorbike.....  countless riders NO HELMETS  many non strapped passengers in back of pickups....need I say anymore....Oh and many motorbikes with NO MIRRORS ....new ones at that...
