  1. Those charges sometimes make up half the ticket price, esp. on shorter flights. No wonder flights are expensive...
  2. ...and no morals, or positive examples by the parents.
  3. Funny, everywhere I go it's 'avoid the Chinese', or 'if you are Chinese do not do this'; spitting (many signs in Hong Kong), standing on toilet seat, throwing "No. 2" into the bin next to the toilet, driving on the wrong side, climbing statues and monuments, doing dangerous things, breaking this and that (Australia, New Zealand signs everywhere in Mandarin). - Seems, mainland Chinese need to be educated on how to travel and behave when abroad...
  4. Seems that nowadays news outlets just present what is the perceived opinion of their viewership. All to raise numbers, in order to be able to sell more advertising time. Real journalism? It's close to extinction...
  5. Yes, and hopefully the hair on my head will grow back. Just as likely...
  6. That was the airport tax. Nothing special, as it is added to the ticket price around the world. But not many countries charge a "landing fee" like this for an unclear purpose.
  7. South Korea can't have more pollution, and Thai officials have $$-signs in their eyes...
  8. So, why does a Buddhist monk lecture about patriotism and the national flag? Sadly, knowing Thailand's policy of "uniting" the people (China style), I can understand the uproar...
  9. Expect this fee to be raised to 500 or a thousand baht in only a short time...
  10. The Chinese I spoke to acknowledge it, same as for their rude behaviour as tourists abroad. But do they care? Most don't...
  11. I heard, Mercedes and BMW dealerships are expecting more business after June...
  12. Reportedly, the sanctions have a minimal effect on the Russian economy.
  13. So, is he from an 'Arabic' family in Ratchaburi, Burmese, Thai, or what?
  14. Unlikely that this will have any effect. Would be interesting though in regards to a refund in case of entry refusal. Who will refund, the airline that charged the fee as part of the ticket price, Airport Immigration, or who?
  15. No kidding. I'm a careful person, always looking left and right, but was hit by motorbikes twice over the years, just crossing the road! Fortunately, no damage done to me or the rider, except a small scratch on my leg the second time.
  16. I think the difference is, that tourists in Thailand won't get insurance for the 150 or 300 baht they pay.
  17. Strange idea to put tourists in charge of maintaining the public health system. - I'm sure countries like France, Spain, Italy, Greece, etc., would be interested to adopt such a system...
  18. Yes, would be interesting to know. If, for example, most of the costs were because of migrant workers, and they wouldn't have to pay this landing fee, then charging tourists, on the other hand, would mean charging the wrong crowd...
  19. That's on average 134 million baht/year, or less than 4 baht (40 million tourist arrivals) to 7 baht (20 million)... Wonder what they'll do with the extra 143 to 293 baht.
  20. Yes, of course they did it for free... Guess, no receipt was given.
  21. 500?? Are they still alive there?
