  1. "You have sexy b̶o̶d̶y̶ money" 😆
  2. Yes, unlikely that big companies like CP, or Betagro would risk a huge backlash in Thai public opinion, meddling with politics (and the military) because of a tiny export market like Cambodia.
  3. Great! Will take your word for it, and try in pubs, malls, and supermarkets next time I'm in Thailand... Maybe I can lower my pub bill from 500 baht to 300 after haggling... 😂
  4. I'm sure, the war has solved both problems... 😆
  5. Does your strategy work in shops too? 😆 Btw, if a taxi driver says '300', then the metered fare is 150 or less, so paying '250', you're the sucker who's overpaying by 67% and more, not to mention that your bargaining power is much less if you're travelling with luggage.
  6. Well, what do you expect from the TAT (Touts of Absurd Trivialities)? 😆
  7. Yes, using regular taxis can be a real pain in Thailand. I almost always use ride-hailing apps these days. If this were to become troublesome, one more reason to take Thailand off my SE Asia itinerary.
  8. And I thought, they had closed down the marijuana shops... 😆
  9. True; can't unsee it now. The names Epstein and/or Trump mentioned, and I visualise that statue... 😆
  10. "When immigrants move to a new country, how they connect with both their original culture and the new culture can have a big impact on their mental health. Research shows that there are a few common patterns (...)" This is irrelevant, as, probably, 98% of forum members here are not immigrants, but tourists, or "non-immigrants" (i.e. having glorified tourism status), with no citizen rights whatsoever.
  11. So, you mean, speaking Thai makes you a 'Thai'? (Most Thais would disagree.) Also, imagine, all (legal and illegal) immigrants in Britain, or the U.S., who learnt English, would immediately become model British, or American citizens... 😆 Cultural identity doesn't work like that!
  12. Considering that prostitution is 'illegal', it is probably not on the list of 'restricted jobs for Thai nationals'... 😆
  13. LOL. Not much into Bangkok nightlife anymore, but, well, most of the places mentioned (Soi Zero, Clinton Plaza, Sukhumvit Square?) don't exist anymore... 😆
  14. What does that even mean? That all passengers need ThID (and a Thai ID) now?? 😲 (Alternatively, will foreigners have to use the 'no meter' regular taxi ma**a?)
  15. Why? Just another normal day in Patong... 😆
  16. If Elon was one of the victims, it would explain a lot... 😆
  17. Once more, Thailand is 'ahead of time', providing interesting historical data... 😆
  18. Greed coupled with a strong baht... What could possibly go wrong? 😆
  19. Things were different! Me and my friends were wayyy younger...
  20. Some people seem to find this attractive... Perhaps the OP is the ASEAN NOW Kardashian... 😆
  21. All about the Chinese, right? But I just read yesterday in my Google news feed that Russians are changing their travel plans for the very same reasons, opting for Vietnam, rather than Thailand, so I guess other nationalities probably too...
  22. What a moron! Is the enormous risk even worth it? What did he think; that he could just get away with it? Besides, fat chance to recover the 10 million baht he lost in his restaurant venture. (ATMs have on average 2,200 banknotes in it, so, perhaps, 1 million baht at best?) Well, at least, he'll get a long-term B&B now... 😆
  23. Great! Please report back about the retirement visa options. 😉
